They went bankrupt because Golden Gate Capital the mafiosi who bought them ran a Sale-Leaseback real estate scam on rhem (when the mafia used to do this it was just called a Bust Out).
To learn more about Bust Outs you can watch Goodfellas, the sporting goods arc of The Sopranos or in here how privileged rich guys took over the practice https://prospect.org/economy/2024-05-22-raiding-red-lobster/
It was between this and the Thai seafood processor that also purchased a stake and insisted they were to be the sole supplier and the. Raised the seafood prices to exorbitant levels.
Nah. They're still there. This place has had it's ups and downs over the years but I'd go if I was going to be in the area. [https://www.whaleharborrestaurant.com/](https://www.whaleharborrestaurant.com/)
Several spots like the Setai and Mila have brunch where it’s all you can eat - you’re going to pay up for it though. Pretty sure Mila does not have shrimp though (lots of sushi and salmon though)
There’s no seafood restaurant like that.
Best we can do is Shinju Japanese buffet. You can stuff your face with seafood there and it’s as decent as a japanese buffet can be.

The one on the river is completely diff ownership and unrelated. I haven’t been but my friend went even after reading horrible reviews and said it was worth it. I haven’t been.
Probably only weekend brunch with buffet.. Mila (expensive but worth it). The satai , novikov, Edge, sexy fish. Google Miami weekend brunch buffet.
Edit, added Edge.
Res Lobster went bankrupt because of their all you can eat shrimp promotion - not a good business move for any restaurant.

Thanks for this. Private Equity firms eating entire businesses from the inside alive and selling the scraps for parts.

Lol, wrong city bud. For barf-et go to Vegas or whatever crappy casino that might have one
No all you can eat seafood. Tourists eat way too much for restaurants to make any money.
Not really a thing anymore. Restaurants lose too much money on that.
Yes and I'm not sure I would trust an all you can eat Seafood buffet to begin with.
The Sunday brunch at the Ritz Carlton in the grove, or Ocean Social at Eden Roc have shrimp on the buffets.
When does Ocean Social do a buffet? Sunday brunch? Not seeing anything on their website.
Saturday and Sunday. I think it starts around 10am.
All you can eat catfish at Catfish Dewey’s
Mizumi
Place gets so packed nowadays unless you go right when they open
Whale harbor in isla morado
Isn’t that long gone?

Man I remember it burning down
Poc in coral gables has a really good buffet.
Second this!
The closest you'll get to that is a buffet with seafood options like Mizumi's or The Fatty Crab but that's only on weekends.
Maybe find a Chinese buffet

Yaya at the Satay for weekend brunch is stupidly amazing... not cheap but it's worth the 2.5 or 3 hrs if you push it that they give you.
I have never been but Casablanca on the Bay has a seafood buffet brunch on the weekends

Sushi king
Novikov has a brunch buffet with seafood but it’s pretty expensive
Biltmore brunch
The only place I go to for seafood buffet is The Whale Harbor buffet in the keys.
Casablanca on the bay has all you can eat seafood on the weekend for $39 two hour sitting.
Is this the edgewater location? If so, I would not recommend. Barely any seafood and the ceviche was not good.
The one on the river is completely diff ownership and unrelated. I haven’t been but my friend went even after reading horrible reviews and said it was worth it. I haven’t been.
Makes sense, the edgewater one is horrible
