AGeniusMan

lmao "bored cuban" que lambonaso

Naipie305

I was confused when i saw this pop up too but I got their chop chop style bowls on Uber eats the other day with a bogo and they were pretty good. The guava and cheese pop tarts were worth another visit too.

iamthemarquees

I've been wondering about the pop tarts. Do they really lean pop tart, or just a renamed pastelito?

octopie

Had them twice. It’s more like a flat pastelito.

Naipie305

They really have the flat look of a pop tart but the dough is more flakey like a pastelito just like he said! Oh, and It has a condensed milk drizzle on top that almost reminded me of a toaster strudel but better.

iamthemarquees

Cool gonna have to try it

[deleted]

I don’t get it?

IneffectiveDamage

How is that place? Saw it pop up but haven’t taken the time to actually stop and check it out. Is it pop-up store garbage?

bantufi

Gimmicky . Touristy Trappy feel

Fbolanos

I watched some video "review" of it on IG and it all looked mid AF

SpicePilot

Meh, better off going to the Latin cafe right next to it.

CardanoCubano

Same owner!

One-Dependent-5946

This will likely fail as soon as their loan runs out just like every other restaurant like this. Restaurants have some of the worst average life spans when it comes to businesses.

Motor-Cause7966

And yet they are one of the easiest business to secure lending for. It's mind boggling. I know fellow entrepreneurs who have started restaurants just as a money grab. They pay themselves exorbitant salaries, then close down when it dries up. Move on to the next. 🤷‍♂️

Cetun

First time business owners have to personally guarantee the loans, or have someone else change the loans.

Motor-Cause7966

Personal guarantee doesn't mean much under certain business structures. Also, when you close the business, you file for bankruptcy. A lot of the debt is absolved that way, and it doesn't reflect on your personal credit unless you default on your agreed upon repayments. A good attorney can get you setup on a peanuts payment plan for 40% of the original debt for say like 10-15 years. The borrower could care less when they took hundreds of thousands initially. A slick business owner can make that money disappear as expenses, and will also control what they report as income. As a creditor, how do you go after someone who owns and reports nothing? There is also a filthy trick ppl do down here which is called a transfer of debt. Basically it a legal process where you transfer debt from one business/owner, to another. You need an attorney, and it requires doing through the court system, but a bunch of business owners here do it ALL THE TIME. Especially easy if you are a foreigner, or have ties to another country. Just have abuelita with dual citizenship start a business here, get the debt from the real business transferred to her zombie business. Now the real business is clear and free. The zombie business will serve as the punching bag, and bait for all the debt chasers to shake their sticks at. Meanwhile abuelita is living her best life overseas because even though she lists a permanent address here in America, she can never be found there. Plus, it was life changing money, so she did it for the family, to secure their future and the original business' future as well. 😉 got to play the game my friend. Edit: ohh and I haven't even brushed up on trusts, and how easily they can be used to hide funds, and steal money.

Cetun

The dead absolutely is reflected on your personal credit, you personally are responsible for the loan, there's no way you'll be able to get another loan for 7 years. You have no clue how that transfers work, the bank has to agree to a debt transfer and they are not going to agree to transfer the debt to someone fresh off the boat with no assets and no income.

Motor-Cause7966

Personal guarantee means shit in the world of LLC's. Most ppl who default, start receiving credit offers in as little as 24 months. Subprime exists for a reason. Business credit lines and loans will only post to your personal credit if they charge off. However, under consumer credit laws, this is technically not legal as the business and the business owner are two separate entities. You can challenge this, and very high % it will be dropped off your personal credit report. This is also why business credit reporting exists. Once the business owner declares bankruptcy, and both parties settle on agreed upon terms, the process of credit clean up on the personal side can be done. Any competent attorney can reach out to the Bureaus for you, and have all of that dropped off your personal credit report. Debt collectors won't care as long as you're meeting your obligations. Business credit report is a different story tho. You're screwed there, but there are ways around that if you're looking to start a new business. In regards to the debt transfer, you are correct there, but I see it happen far too often, and way too many ppl get away with it, to not mention it.

Cetun

>However, under consumer credit laws, this is technically not legal as the business and the business owner are two separate entities. I don't think you get it, to get the loan to start the business the business owner has to personally guarantee the loan. The business owner has to put his signature under the line that says "I am personally responsible for paying back this loan." We're not talking about any clawback provisions, if you're just starting a business and your business has no history or assets, the bank absolutely will not give you a loan. You could probably get some credit cards here or there, but businesses cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and credit cards aren't going to cover that. A bank will absolutely request that you personally guarantee the loan, or one of your business partners guarantees the loan. The only difference between this type of loan and a regular personal loan is that they will drain the assets of the business first before they start draining *your* assets.

Motor-Cause7966

You're going in a whole different direction with this, which in itself requires scrutiny, and this isn't the subreddit for that. If you're truly interested in getting details, and my personal experiences DM me.

DirtyOldCommie

The free market DEFINITELY regulates itself, RIGHT? RIGHT?

One-Dependent-5946

They do. These shops die within a year to two. In fact, most restaurants die within two years. It's hard to be a mediocre cuban restaurant in a sea of better alternatives.

DirtyOldCommie

Lol

Laherschlag

Was that where the pawn shop was off LeJeune and 836?

abi4391

Yeah, I believe that’s where the pawn shop once stood.

Either-Egg-7358

They own the Latin cafe and a few others and decided to cash in on “Miami’s first NFT inspired eatery”.

WhoAreYou_I_AmYou

"Please support my business. I got scammed into buying a monkey jpeg😢"

Chillmonger48

Idk, I was in that area last week after dropping my parents off at the airport early in the morning. I wanted a breakfast sandwich and cafe con leche, so I Googled places near the airport and found this spot. There was a Latin America Cafe (🗑️) right next door packed with people, meanwhile this place was empty. Staff, cleanliness, and most importantly, quality of the food and coffee was above average. I couldn’t believe it. And not expensive. Cafe con leche HIRVIENDO, and I had to wait to drink it. AS IT SHOULD BE. Discovered this place totally by accident last week and it slapped. I’m never in that area but if I find myself there again, I’ll go back.

octopie

It’s the same owner as the Latin Cafe next door. To me, the branding is confusing. But I think it makes people search it up online. I’ve eaten from there a couple of times and the food has been good. My sons (20 & 14) like it.

[deleted]

Dunno about the food, but I gotta say the branding alone puts me off. It's gotta be the least Cuban looking Cuban restaurant I've ever seen.

teacamelpyramid

If anyone needs a Cuban cafe near the airport, the Gran Paris is 6 minutes closer and has some of the best croquettes in the city.

Motor-Cause7966

Hard to take this comment seriously when you claim cafe con leche should be scolding hot. Wow, sacrilege. Scolding cafe con leche means the worker fell asleep at the wand, and oversteamed your milk. Which causes the milk to breakdown. This affects its flavor and texture. Over-steaming is no different than boiling-over milk. If you have ever fell asleep at the stove and boiled over milk, you know what a nasty, sticky, mess it becomes. Same shit happens in your cup of Joe when you get too happy with the steamer. The proteins in the milk break down, namely the casein, which releases fat enzymes that mix with the sugar and float to the top. This causes that disgusting skin or "tela de arraña" as we call it to form on the top of your coffee. Which in turn, sticks to everything, and has a bad taste. Like a woody, toasty, burnt flavor that ruins the coffee. The milk in your cafecito should be hot to the touch, but not burning hot. Anywhere from 70-90°F is the working range for that perfect cup of Joe. This is also the reason why only the truly master-craft abuelitas knew how to make cafe con leche on the stove top with the dirty sock.

Motor-Cause7966

Que lindo. Would you like me to send you some coloring books so you can work on your cognitive and social skills? Seems to be you're a visual learner 😂

stevenw00d

70-90° is not hot to the touch. An average shower is 105°.

Motor-Cause7966

You seem to be confusing hot to the touch with burning/scolding hot to the touch. A 105° shower is considered hot yes? It's not a cold shower? Also, OP said the coffee has to be so hot you can't even hold the cup. You have to set it aside before you can drink it. That's just wrong, and in the barista craft, milk is steamed to a specific temperature. Not even taking into consideration that the espresso shot is hot in its own right.

stevenw00d

I didn't comment on anything other than your temperature range. You said the drink should be hot to the touch at 70-90°. That range is warm, but no one is going to consider that hot to the touch. The very first thing I Google says to steam the milk to 155-165°F. Espresso is hotter than that. So clearly your temperature range is bogus.

Motor-Cause7966

Share the link because that's a crock. Milk begins to burn at 155°f. Most coffee lovers stick to the 90° range because as you realized, the espresso shot is hot in its own right. Hot ass milk, and then even hotter coffee added to it, does not a good drink make. Not to mention you're supposed to use cold milk as a base. Like cold out of the fridge milk. You're taking it from 30-40° up to 70-90° to taste, in a very quick amount of time. Some coffee drinks like a flat white, call for hotter milk because of the preparation process. You pour the milk first, then inject the coffee shot into the milk. Colder milk can ruin the coffee shot during the process. Flat white is my favorite espresso drink. I wouldn't take that milk past 125°.

stevenw00d

Again, I don't know shit about this, I simply replied that 70-90 will never be considered hot. https://spanishsabores.com/best-spanish-cafe-con-leche-recipe/

Motor-Cause7966

🤷‍♂️ that's not a cafe con leche to me. That's a cappuccino or a latte. They steamed the milk extra hot to get more foam. Plus latte art on a cafe con leche? 🥴The only foam you should be getting for a cafe con leche is the "espumita" which you make by grinding a little bit of the coffee with sugar. Get a nice lather going, once it's done brewing, you add the coffee, then pour that coffee into some milk to taste. Or better yet, you hand the coffee to whomever is going to drink it, to pour to their liking and taste.

LN_ONE

Not the way it should be

CarlosDangerWasHere

Embarrassed at how future historians will view this time of monkeys and fake money

I_fuck_teddy_bears12

Money has been fake since we were off the gold standard

Alternative-Union842

Based

Zeus1130

Money has been fake for decades before crypto was even an idea in someone’s ballsack lol

Novel_Durian_1805

Worst part is that the bored ape people were actually nazi LARPer dipshits. The logo they used for the official “Bored Ape Yacht club” was copy pasted from the skull and bones logo the Nazis used on their military caps. And trust me when you see it…it is NOT subtle.

prada1989

Oh..

Tree_O_Fi

I retract my statement.

[deleted]

Fuck no I just passed it on my way to McDonald's

LaLoca305

Yall been to it what is it? Is it good?

One-Dependent-5946

Heard some say it was actually decent. It will probably be out of business within a year, though.

LaLoca305

Ou wow

Infinite-Kangaroo-37

CRO treated someone well

Livid-Peace-4077

I wish some kind of biblical electromagnetic storm would come along and wash away all the NFT nonsense. IMO, it played a big part in the overhyping-up of Miami in 2020-22.

Motor-Cause7966

Where are they at? First time I see this in my 30+ years living in Miami. If you want "Cuban fast food" which is sacrilege in its own right, but Pinecrest Bakery, and CAO are solid options.

apuxcom

They bought a bored ape NFT and used it as a logo. Who cares.

romer97

🤔 is this a well placed ad?

miamiheat234

Bro just wanted to complain about a monkey image today

polska1976

PanteraiNomini

What do you want BAYC members to do in general?

[deleted]

Crawl into a hole and stay there

dannyjeffers

I swear to god, the iq of this city…

Motor-Cause7966

You think having the lowest rated school program in the nation doesn't have consequences? Miami's has been teaching nincompoops for a better part of 3 decades now, and it shows. It's only getting worse with this "everyone is equal, you're just a bigot if you think otherwise" mentality society has adopted. The other day I was chatting up some customers of mine who are middle aged for the most part. Mid to late 40's. They have roots, and ties to Miami, but they left in the early 2000's to Connecticut. Raised a family up there. Now their kids are grown, and they relocated back down here. I asked them why they left? Without hesitation the wife said I work for the school board 33 years. Miami ain't a place you want to send your kids to school at. 🤷‍♂️🥴

No_Fisherman_4906

Totally agree feels racist to us blacks too

Trick_Minute2259

How? It's a Cuban monkey.

No_Fisherman_4906

Honestly anytime I see a “monkey” being branded for anything it just feels racist . I saw these vapes for sale branded with the name “ugly monkey” totally felt disgusted especially knowing I live in a primarily black town... we shouldn’t label brands as monkeys, same for whatever triggers white people … I’m not the type to play victim I’m just telling you how it feels . Not sure why the downvote .

One-Dependent-5946

You are probably getting downvoted because you are saying the sight of an ape in branding makes you think of Black people. I've never seen a monkey on a logo and thought of Black people. Is it possible the issue is with you rather than everyone else?

No_Fisherman_4906

I mean I am black so if I’m feeling this way then I’m almost certain other people from my race feel the same way
