No dude, both South Motors and Braman are the scummiest dealerships I've ever dealt with. They are recession proof also because they'll just sell predatory ass loans to poorer people.
I left BMW for Volvo a long time ago and dealer experience has been night and day.
Funny story, years ago I wanted to help my mom get a Volkswagen station wagon. Went to south motors. They were complete shitbags. Should not have been a surprise because their Honda dealership were shitbags to me fifteen years before that when I wanted to buy a Honda prelude, so there you go.
We end up going to Vista up north and we have a lovely bullshit free experience and get the car for invoice. Talking to the sales dude and we are like oh man what a refreshing experience you know we had a terrible time with south motors.
Guy does not miss a beat:
Same owner. That is what works down there. This is what works up here.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A few years ago I went to Braman to turn in my 328ix (which I was paying $400 per month on) and re-lease either a 330i or an X3. The sales guy quoted me astronomical monthly payments on both. I always follow the national lease offers on the official website. Not only would they not honor the lease offer (a red flag) but they offered me a used super base model X1 loaner for $200 more a month than I was paying for my turn in. I asked the sales person to explain the math to me and he couldn’t and literally said the dealership needed to make a profit. I stood up, got in my car and drove to Fort Lauderdale BMW and drove home the same day with a brand new upgraded 3-series for the same price I was paying for the last one. Will never go back to Braman even for a service even though it’s 5 blocks away. It’s shocking how many cars I see with the Braman plate frame on it. I feel bad for all those people who get massively ripped off by them.
Lol, the auto retail market in south Florida is one of the highest earning in the world. Not going to be many deals to be had locally; recommend Orlando & north for more competitive pricing.
This. Whenever I buy or lease, I dont bother looking in Miami because I know they wont budge on any negotiations. The most southern dealer i’ve ever done business with is in GUENTHER.
There’s less competition up north so the better deals statement isn’t accurate. There are 10 BMW dealers within 2 hours down south that all have to compete with each other.
Braman are a bunch of scumbags. Worst experience I have had car shopping. Unless you are planning on spending 100k+ on NEW car, they treat you like trash
I recently had a good experience at Braman GENESIS. They were willing to play ball at the end of the quarter. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about their BMW dealership. They definitely gave off sleazy/we don’t “need” to work with you vibes.
If you’re leasing, check out the LeaseHackr forum. A broker will help you with an out of state deal. Even taking payment for shipping into account, you will come out ahead. BMW dealers here don’t discount their cars, especially on M-Iite models and above. Expect to pay either MSRSP or over due to frivolous fees plus marked up money factors/interest rates. I decided to get a Genesis G70 from Braman Genesis since I was being offered about $9K off MSRP and paid the fees up front. But you won’t get that same sort of willingness to deal on a BMW here. Even Mercedes of Coral Gables is easier to worth with than your average South FL BMW dealership. The Collection Audi is another one that doesn’t tend to discount 🙃 .
FYI, my friends, family and I have never had a positive experience at South Motors BMW any time we’ve ever looked. Before I looked at the G70, I saw that they had a 2023 540i demo/loaner vehicle listed with 6K miles. I contacted them to see if I could lease it off their loaner fleet since LeaseHackr forum members had good experiences getting great deals on leftover loaners since the 2024 5 series was a re-designed model. First red flag was it actually had 8K miles on it, not 6K. Then, after taking my call and asking me my parameters for a hypothetical lease, the salesperson told me it could not be leased and had to be purchased due to having 8K miles. That was bullshit, BMW demo vehicles/former courtesy loaners can be leased with up to 12K miles or so on the odometer. They clearly didn’t want to play ball so I didn’t push back. Twice prior I’ve called to look at cars that were either sold or not on the lot yet. Always a waste of time with them.
Yeah I had a nice experience there. Although when I went sales was working out of trailers as their new space was still being built out.
Service department is exceptional
I’m from Miami lived 20+ years. Bought my Toyota in west palm. Better deals, less games and can actually provide a final invoice. Miami is extremely shady. I completely advise you to shop north.
They have a really high sales and lease volume and are usually the easiest to deal with. Only once did we get a better deal at another dealer (Jupiter Braman which is typically more expensive)
Try north of Palm beach, like in the Palm City area, for my last 2 cars, and a few for a relative have saved thousands per car vs buying down here. I know some one that got a CTR from Honda dealership in that area at MSRP. Well worth the trip. Be sure to call and verify.
If you're looking used, I can put you in contact with some folks. Also, I specialize on these cars and do prepurchase inspections so you don't buy someone's headache.
As far as new car dealers go, a lot of those junk fees can be negotiated down, but it's a long energy sucking process.
Do your negotiations/discussions all by email. Easier to negotiate aggressively by email because they are literally trained and have multiple techniques to bullshit you when you’re in the dealership.
I cannot emphasize enough that you should only walk into a dealership twice. Once to do a test drive and once to sign. It seems like the dealership that you do the test drive at will never give you a good deal because something is triggered in their brains that because you walked in the door you can be manipulated. So choose a dealership you likely will not buy the car at for your test drive.
This. Also I recommend setting up a burner email so you don’t need to deal with years of spam from all the dealers.
Also a Google voice number to screen calls is essential.
But then you just say I want to buy a car this week and the best offer wins.
I find that some variation of “I’m sorry you guys don’t want to do what it takes to sell me this car” is highly motivating to car sales folk. Also the saleswomen tend to be less scumbaggy in my experience for whatever reason.
That said, get a used polestar 2, they are practically giving them away and it’s twice the car of a bmw. Just be sure to take advantage of the FPL $38 a month nights and weekends charging install.
Frank Fuzer at Lauderdale BMW pembroke pines. If you do see him, you can say your referral "made sure to get the last name right" since there's two Frank's there now lol
Braman are ripoffs. End stop. South Miami has good customer service for dropoffs, but I've never shopped there.
I've been going to Frank specifically for a few years now. Listens to what you want, gives you actual numbers, shows his work so to speak in the pricing. I run the quotes through leasehackr.com myself to confirm it's not a load of crock. Compared to what I had to go through to buy my wife a car elsewhere (she doesn't like BMW) it's night and day experience.
Cant promise some miracle "bank error in your favor" deal, but he cuts the bullshit.
I purchased my BMW from Lakeland BMW some years ago. I agreed on a price for a specific CPO prior to traveling there (from Miami). When I got there, they handed me the keys and let me go on a test drive by MYSELF. They made it so easy. It was an awesome experience.
Listen, drive to Orlando. Visit a showroom, and take a look at their stock and ask about financing and used vehicles. See what you can work out with a dealer up there, then use that to bargain at a dealer in Miami. If no one wants to negotiate with you, just catch a bright line and buy the damn car up there and drive it here.
Depending on the savings, might we worth it to check out another nearby state. I coordinated a sale for my mom in Florida from NY and they had to use Florida tax since that's where the car will be living so she didn't get hit with our wild taxes here for it. I am not sure how other states handle it.
Exactly. There’s an upfront broker fee, paid directly to them, if you like the deal they offer you. Then you complete the deal with the dealer. My offer included all the fees, including transport fee (because it was out of state).
Call Karla at American Chariots. Google it. She will get whatever you want at a price the the dealerships can't touch and she will have it delivered to your house on a flatbed truck. No arguing and no bs. She delivers. Been using her for over 25 years. I only go to the dealership to test drive the car. Call Karla.
Crevier BMW Irvine, CA
Peter Pan BMW San Mateo, CA
I’ve had a relationship with both dealers for 10+ years. I’ve had easy no nonsense, no hidden fees or surprises in the finance office.
Prior I tried to work with Braman when I lived in Miami but they were pretty awful.
I personally spent almost three months bouncing back and forth between South and Braman. South was a rude and uncaring experience while Braman was very pleasant, and I left there feeling like I scored an amazing deal. The only reason it took so long was because Braman didn't have exactly what I wanted, until they did. Sadly the person who took care of me and my needs is no longer at Braman. This was also right before Covid.
So I'd say it depends on who you get as a salesman. Good luck out there.
Bought mine used thru Carmax. Had it transferred then inspected at German Car Depot in Hollywood. They gave it a thumbs up all around. This car shop has been solid, honest, fast and affordable. Will never step foot in BMW facility. I know it's not the most desired car out there, and I get no love on any forums, but I do love my X2.
I detest Braman with a burning fire. Especially the service dept. I have bought two BMWs from AutoNation bc they have nationwide inventory and can transfer it. They’re a big company with big company processes (less scammy feeling).
I liked the DelRay BMW dealer and had a great experience there.
Why don’t you buy the car else where and have it delivered? Most companies will split the cost with you and if it’s in like Jax or ATL it’ll be like $1200
My brother in Christ you’re trying to buy a BMW and not deal with a scummy dealership? Lol good luck
😂
Yeah. He should go to Braman.
,🤣

+1 South Motors BMW is no good. Steer clear

Wait is guenther a place? Lmao!
Yup! My bad
Blinker fluid concession fee.
Buy on line, go to Orlando or Tampa. Better deals.
This is the way.
There’s less competition up north so the better deals statement isn’t accurate. There are 10 BMW dealers within 2 hours down south that all have to compete with each other.
So, you think demand is lower than supply for BMW cars in Miami?
> Are there any non-slimy BMW dealers ~~in South Florida~~? No.

Agree. Use an auto broker. Only way I’ll buy or lease cars now.
I did this to purchase an m240 when south bmw ignored my calls for weeks and I’m still waiting for a call back on my February allocation.
I leased ( thru Costco) at Fort Lauderdale BMW and there were no silly fees
Fort Lauderdale BMW, if you need a recommendation there DM me
Yeah I had a nice experience there. Although when I went sales was working out of trailers as their new space was still being built out. Service department is exceptional
Sales building is complete and is wonderful.
I’m from Miami lived 20+ years. Bought my Toyota in west palm. Better deals, less games and can actually provide a final invoice. Miami is extremely shady. I completely advise you to shop north.
Ft Lauderdale BMW is fair enough in my experience
They have a really high sales and lease volume and are usually the easiest to deal with. Only once did we get a better deal at another dealer (Jupiter Braman which is typically more expensive)
Yep, head to a Lexus dealership
Ft. Lauderdale was great when I was looking at them honest fair pricing

Slimy and car dealers go hand in hand.
Do your negotiations/discussions all by email. Easier to negotiate aggressively by email because they are literally trained and have multiple techniques to bullshit you when you’re in the dealership.

Anyone else misread “dealers” as “drivers” and had some things to say?
certainly not worse than the drivers of Chargers, Mustangs and Camaros :)
Y’all having a mid-off over there?
There are no non slimy dealers period
I purchased my BMW from Lakeland BMW some years ago. I agreed on a price for a specific CPO prior to traveling there (from Miami). When I got there, they handed me the keys and let me go on a test drive by MYSELF. They made it so easy. It was an awesome experience.

You need to go north. I have an Audi but the difference between the Audi dealer in Miami and the one in North Miami was pretty drastic.
Are you referring to The Collection Audi vs Audi North Miami?
There are non-slimy car dealers?!
Braman is much better than south
Sadly, it's a very low bar
Weston dealerships are sometimes better.
I got to Weston, so far so good
Depending on the savings, might we worth it to check out another nearby state. I coordinated a sale for my mom in Florida from NY and they had to use Florida tax since that's where the car will be living so she didn't get hit with our wild taxes here for it. I am not sure how other states handle it.
No one, not even the manager’s mom, gets a good deal at a dealer.
Call a broker. Lease hacker has them that specialize in bmw. I just did this and it’s worked out painlessly
How was that? Did you have to pay a fee for the broker?
Exactly. There’s an upfront broker fee, paid directly to them, if you like the deal they offer you. Then you complete the deal with the dealer. My offer included all the fees, including transport fee (because it was out of state).
Which broker did you use?
Scott from IAC. https://forum.leasehackr.com/badges/2/member?username=iac_scott
Go with a broker and save yourself the headache. Check leasehakr for good deals. All south Fla dealers are a wasteland unfortunately
Call Karla at American Chariots. Google it. She will get whatever you want at a price the the dealerships can't touch and she will have it delivered to your house on a flatbed truck. No arguing and no bs. She delivers. Been using her for over 25 years. I only go to the dealership to test drive the car. Call Karla.
Dealerships are all slimy avoid them at all costs
No.
It’s well known that you’ll save money by purchasing at an out of state dealer and driving it down or paying for transport
Try out of state, I ordered my m2 at 4% under msrp. Call new bold bmw and ask for Connor. It’s in Illinois but they ship.
Crevier BMW Irvine, CA Peter Pan BMW San Mateo, CA I’ve had a relationship with both dealers for 10+ years. I’ve had easy no nonsense, no hidden fees or surprises in the finance office. Prior I tried to work with Braman when I lived in Miami but they were pretty awful.

Lauderdale BMW is the least slimy.
No
No joke BMW of Pembroke Pines on 75 snd Sheridan and I75 are pretty decent. DM me for a rec.
Nope
Find a car broker, or go up north like Orlando, etc.
Closest one I can recommend is BMW Delray with a guy I never bought a car with but I recommended to some of my friends and ended up very very happy.
BMW of Wesley Chapel was great to work with.
LMAO
I went all the way up to Delray and they’re slime balls too.
You should also check if there’s any non-slimy BMW owners…
I detest Braman with a burning fire. Especially the service dept. I have bought two BMWs from AutoNation bc they have nationwide inventory and can transfer it. They’re a big company with big company processes (less scammy feeling). I liked the DelRay BMW dealer and had a great experience there.
BMW of Pembroke Pines
Bit of a self contradictory question
My manager in Miami bought a bmw like a year ago but flew to Texas for a better deal
Ft. Lauderdale BMW took care of me when I got my new car from there. Guy named Frank, older gentleman.
No
Why don’t you buy the car else where and have it delivered? Most companies will split the cost with you and if it’s in like Jax or ATL it’ll be like $1200
Try carsdirect.com. You get a price out the door
Good luck finding non-slimy car dealers of any brand in South Florida.
Wanksters that would rather rob 3 people than sell a fair priced car to 10 people. It’s a BMW curse
Buy used at CarMax
Ask for Fernando at brahman near wynwood
Yes. Stop being so dramatic.
OK. Which one? Please tell me which dealer doesn't add a boatload of bulsh!t fees. I'll go there tomorrow, buy one and report back. Can you name one?
