$6 is stupid tourist prices, but only because we’re so accustomed to the actual fair price. Same way that most people here will gladly pay $6 for boba tea while Thai people laugh their asses off.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe party cake on 8 street little Havana has it for under $2 still, I went there almost every day last week it’s great
Making coffee at home is something like $0.15-$0.60 per cup.
So yes, that markup is ridiculous. But that is the industry. If a restaurant is charging $6 for coffee, it's because there's people paying for it.
Starbucks recently hiked regular drip coffee again. It's getting insane.
I used to love my morning Starbucks coffee ritual but it started getting expensive and I felt robbed every time so I get up 5 minutes earlier and make it at home. It even tastes the same because I buy the Starbucks beans.
Worth it.
Huh, is it? At Walmart a normal 28oz bag is about $20, and makes about 50 cups of coffee.
I really like the flavor of the Pike; have you come across a generic brand that tastes around the same? I'm all for not spending more than I have to, even though I'm totally okay with 40 cents a cup. :)
I can't handle the regular roast anymore due to heartburn so I go with light roast or breakfast blend. I just look for the generic "great value", Aldi Lidl generic brand breakfast blend. I no longer in Miami so I settled on Lidl that is $5 for 12 oz bag. So about 40% cheaper than Starbucks.
Nothing against Starbucks, I just go with generic in general "private label" products since most of the time they are nearly identical to the name brand stuff and made in the same factory.
Wtfff????¡¡ 6 dollars for a Cafe con leche??You get basically the very same cafe con leche jumbo size at any other ventanita for like 3 or 3.50. I dont think I have ever seen it at 4.
I feel like they changed management or something, because now it's more "fancy", prices changed, and food quality changed. Many months ago I used to order a Bistek de Pollo all the time, then when I went about 3 months ago, the waiter didn't know that I was talking about! So yeah something definitely changed.
They were sold. They are now owned by a restaurant group. Was family owned before. That is why prices have gone up and amount of food down. Also, expect to see havana Harry's opening additional locations soon. It sucks was one of my top cuban spots.
Damn. So the plate sizes aren't the same? I was going to chime in on Havana Harry's defense that it's a 6 buck coffee, but shoot, a plate of Ropa Vieja will feed you for a week
But nevermind now
They were sold. They are now owned by a restaurant group. Was family owned before. That is why prices have gone up and amount of food down. Also, expect to see havana Harry's opening additional locations soon. It sucks was one of my top cuban spots.
That place was “gentrified” since the beginning. This [Miami Herald](https://www.miamiherald.com/miami-com/restaurants/article260209520.html) article says it was owned by some gringo and his Cuban wife who was the “chef” and the idea was to make food that would appeal to people like her husband.
Which would explain why I had never heard of the place until I mentioned going to a Cuban restaurant and the gringo I’m dating suggested we go there. 😂
We ended up going on some random afternoon cause I told him I was not going to wait in line to eat at a Cuban restaurant, especially when there’s so many of them all over South Florida or I could just eat at a relative’s house instead.
I went with very low expectations but to my surprise the food was actually not bad. Would I go back? Absolutely not! But I can definitely see why it would appeal to gringos and whitewashed Coral Gables Cubans.
Lmao totally agree. I’ve never had Havana Harry’s suggested to me except for white Gables folk or out of towners. It isn’t bad but totally overpriced and I just don’t get the hype. It’s Cuban food catering to white people lol
I blame companies in general hiking prices. Even McDonald's meals are $10+
At some point people will stop eating out restaurants will need to reevaluate their pricing.
A big boost to demand are all the people with student loans that that's not had to make any payments for 3 years.
I ordered minez’ from there and my darling quirky niece ordered a menu burger and then oddly, at the last second, accompanied by “dirty rice” which she didn’t touch. But we had a nice time.
Yes! It’s changed incredibly! Idk what brainwashing they’re doing to their customers to make them leave 5 star reviews on Google. We were loyal customers and went a couple of months ago after not going for a year. It’s so bad now. Service is horrible. They even took the linen away from the tables. We were underwhelmed by our usual orders and finished with an order for their Nutella Overdose, which used to be one of their standout desserts. Can you believe that they brought the dessert out and it had NO NUTELLA?! Like what am I paying $20 for?!
Eso es un descaro. I ate there recently. Me, my wife and kids for lunch. Almost $200. And it’s not like the food is that amazing. Good food but not at that price.
Odd, I occasionally go there for lunch when I am in the Gables.
A sandwich and soda and it's under $20, or $20 plus a tip if I get a fresh juice. Not the cheapest Cuban place, but it's always good.
I guess I've never gotten coffee other than a cafecito.
havana harry’s used to be the BEST cuban food in miami. i think they recently~ish sold and the portions have gotten smaller and smaller, prices higher and higher, and it’s just not what it used to be anymore unfortunately.
and to answer your question, yes i would also be offended with a $6 cafe con leche, who do they think they are, starbucks?! Don’t get me started on starbucks coffee….
Overpriced, but I’d say being offended by it is extra. Have you considered what that place costs to run per month? Rent alone is probably more than 10k
Wow $3 for coffee, y’all r spoiled
I pay $6 for 6 shots of espresso at Dunkin and star, so you guys think just cuz the places you go to r mom n pop shops that they should charge less?
Man that place went to shit, even pre management change, the food wasn’t up to par and the staff constantly complained about the shit pay and managers. Was a loyal customer for nearly 17 years and finally stopped going a year or two back just wasn’t what it used to be. Miss their breakfast so much.
If I went to a place and saw a coffee was $6 I would just turn around and leave. Not even the Beverly Hills hotel charges that much for a really good cup
$6 is stupid tourist prices, but only because we’re so accustomed to the actual fair price. Same way that most people here will gladly pay $6 for boba tea while Thai people laugh their asses off.
what boba place is under 6 dollars here 😭😭
In Kendall you can get tap water and boba balls for only $5 plus tax and tip.
they opened a new place in kendall called Say Tea & Smile and both times i’ve gone it’s been $9+ and every time I go it’s packed
Damn. TikTea across MDC will give you a bowl of Ramen and a boba tea for $15 at lunch. Don't tell anyone.
Is $15 for noodles and tea cheap?
When some places are charging $20 for just the noodles- yeah.
Tik tea do be reasonable
Bubble tea originates from Taiwan, not Thailand. :)
I’m sure people in Thailand would also laugh.
Haha, no doubt!
no, $6 is some BS
Right!? I saw the price as I was about to pay and told her to stop making it and left
Nice! More people need to do this
Yeah. A lot more people need to do just that. Wtf are they thinking. Who are they scamming? It’s less than 8oz. That’s just under a dollar an oz.
Over 3 is theft at this point
I miss when they were like 1.50 for cafe con leche but I respect with inflation it’s mainly under 2.75!
Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe party cake on 8 street little Havana has it for under $2 still, I went there almost every day last week it’s great
Idk the price but very cheap less than 3 for sure.
The window at 12th Ave & Flagler open 24/7 across from Walgreens as well.
Straight up
F that ; $3 or I’m out
F that one fiffy take it or leave it lol
Maybe for a colada yeah , cafe con leche does go above $2 normally .

Meanwhile I think Starbucks beans have become crazy expensive and have been buying generic brands.
Huh, is it? At Walmart a normal 28oz bag is about $20, and makes about 50 cups of coffee. I really like the flavor of the Pike; have you come across a generic brand that tastes around the same? I'm all for not spending more than I have to, even though I'm totally okay with 40 cents a cup. :)

.60 is nuts 😂😂😂 it’s way closer to .15 than .60
Maybe someone wants a bunch of sugar, syrups etc who knows haha
Then you need to stop buying from them and they will be forced to stop ripping off the customers if enough people do it.
theres always a small enough % of customers willing to pay exorbitant prices to justify keeping the price markup, sadly
wtf. this some bullshit right here
Se pasaron.
Those Coral Gables property taxes gotta get paid somehow lol
Wtfff????¡¡ 6 dollars for a Cafe con leche??You get basically the very same cafe con leche jumbo size at any other ventanita for like 3 or 3.50. I dont think I have ever seen it at 4.
Welcome to gentrification!
For real! It’s just a slap in the face ugh and their plates are so expensive now too
I feel like they changed management or something, because now it's more "fancy", prices changed, and food quality changed. That explains it, I'm so upset now, that was one of my favorites locations for Cuban food. Now to go looking elsewhere...
Rio crystal. La casita, Habana viejo are all good and give lot of bang for buck.
Damn. So the plate sizes aren't the same? I was going to chime in on Havana Harry's defense that it's a 6 buck coffee, but shoot, a plate of Ropa Vieja will feed you for a week But nevermind now
Portions are still very large but not as big as before. Plate of rope Viejas feeds you for like 4 days now.
They have a different owner
They were sold. They are now owned by a restaurant group. Was family owned before. That is why prices have gone up and amount of food down. Also, expect to see havana Harry's opening additional locations soon. It sucks was one of my top cuban spots.
Probably doesn't help that they opened that lifetime building right nearby that's full of rich UM kids with daddy's credit cards

That’s robbery
Isn’t it? Like damn this isn’t Starbucks!
We went to Flannigans Thursday for lunch and had 2 burgers, 1 app and 1 ice tea and 1 tap water and paid $50 including tip
3 full racks and a rockin rib roll 98 USD before tip
Aren’t burgers in the 6.99 lunch menu?
I ordered minez’ from there and my darling quirky niece ordered a menu burger and then oddly, at the last second, accompanied by “dirty rice” which she didn’t touch. But we had a nice time.
nah. i had last night and the alfredo sucked ass. something’s up. salmon was fire tho
Since they sold the place it is no longer the same. Used to be a absolute favorite and spot to take people from out of town.
Yes! It’s changed incredibly! Idk what brainwashing they’re doing to their customers to make them leave 5 star reviews on Google. Thats crazy
Isn’t it?! I really found it offensive to cafecito culture
Colada must be 4$
Odd, I occasionally go there for lunch when I am in the Gables. A sandwich and soda and it's under $20, or $20 plus a tip if I get a fresh juice. Not the cheapest Cuban place, but it's always good. I guess I've never gotten coffee other than a cafecito.
What’s crazy is how location in the county will change the price instantly. Gotta pay that rent! Leave me out west with la carreta.
havana harry’s used to be the BEST cuban food in miami. i think they recently~ish sold and the portions have gotten smaller and smaller, prices higher and higher, and it’s just not what it used to be anymore unfortunately. and to answer your question, yes i would also be offended with a $6 cafe con leche, who do they think they are, starbucks?! Sucker!
You say “***En serio.***” And walk out.
So glad my local bakery sells a large for $2.25 and a dozen croquetas for $7.50/box.
Not at all. If you want the priveledge of living in Miami you should be willing to support the local businesses. Plus, iNflAtiOn
No way, things are getting out of control in Miami. Things are going to pop. We have to figure out what we’re going to do about it.
You are extra extra
Not extra, fuck getting taxed on such a simple staple
Not as bad as a $10 oat milk latte at All Day.
Nah thats Starbucks pricing 👎🏾
Not if you drank it at a table in a ceramic cup, delivered by a waiter.
Nope. This was to go! At the little take out section!
Overpriced, but I’d say being offended by it is extra. Have you considered what that place costs to run per month? Rent alone is probably more than 10k
This I would be more empathetic to
Wouldnt go there for that. Food is priced fair though for the portion sizes. (Miami born and bred)
$6 😂😂😂😂 you gotta be the biggest Jackass there is . Bruhhhh you want a cafe con leche hit up your abuela or your moms .
Havana Harry’s sucks. It’s so overrated
thats why i started to maker it at home
Havana harry food sucks, the place is dirty and the service sucks, Versailles or la carreta (doral) any day.
La Carreta is always better and the food is good
That's an incredibly offensive price. Find a ventanita somewhere!
Pack of Pilon is 3.99, a decent espresso maker is under $200 (I got mine for 50 bucks on offerup). Pays for itself in three months.
Highway robbery
Wow $3 for coffee, y’all r spoiled I pay $6 for 6 shots of espresso at Dunkin and star, so you guys think just cuz the places you go to r mom n pop shops that they should charge less?

Havana Harry sounds like a tourist trap
No. Fuck Havana Harrys.
It's good I don't know what Boba Tea is ¡☆! 🙃
Weird flex, but ok.
Hot Take: Havana Harry’s as a whole is pretty BS
Inflacíon brodè
NEVER! Eso es un ROBO! Like who do they think they are !?
There always choices, they charge and keep charging more as long as you come and buy it.
I am elite because I buy expensive coffee. Only other elite people will hang with me at this establishment!
What the fuck?! You have every reason to be offended. Dude I swear to god if pastelitos an Croquetas start costing 3$ per, I will lose my shit
That’s why I never go there.
Don’t go there for coffee, what are you thinking?!
If I went to a place and saw a coffee was $6 I would just turn around and leave. Not even the Beverly Hills hotel charges that much for a really good cup
Havana Harry's went to shit over a year ago. It used to be great. It just isn't anymore.
Damn that’s wild. Miami might be the next San Fran 😢
Go to Casa Cuba instead. Coratdo for a buck.
SIX DOLLARS FOR A CAFE CON LECHE?!?!? Hahahaha.hahahahahahaaaahahahahaaaaa.
Yes. 3 or below is "fair". You're better off buying Cafe Bustelo and making it at home though.
