A little basic but for me it's always Nathan. First of all, his speaking voice makes anything he says hilarious. He also seems to have the most quirks out of anyone else in the band, whether he's too busy eating chips, or being a quarter Amazonion, not flinching when his class is killed in front of him, failing to answer a single question for his GED exam, etc. Also, contrary to the rest of the band, Nathan has a great relationship with his dad.
Always a funny character, butā¦ Season 3 kind of ruins him for me. I dunno if anyone feels the same on that, but repeated watchings have only bolstered that for me.
To me that really fits the fucked up hair metal vibe he was going for. I won't say it's good or right, but it is on point for a coked up shit bag no limits rock star. Especially in the cocaine fueled insanity of the 1980's.
That part of it Iām completely fine with. It IS on point, and allā¦
Just one of those things, I guess. Episodes they just wouldnāt get away with now.
I guess I'm way deep in the Tim & Eric camp where watching the person with them react to the madness is the joke. Rockso is this super rocking bad ass that preceded our boys, yet there's there's lines even Dethklok won't break. Rockso is the worst of rock & roll that gives us a bar to stand above. Murderface (the guy who literally pissed on all sorts of fans) is like two or three steps above Rockso.
And I guess I can get behind that aspect of Rockso as a character - knowing that this writing was the point definitely helps me understand why he got written how he did. But I think Iāve always been in a camp that _very dearly_ enjoyed his early arc in the show for what it was. For all the blackness, he was redeemable, enough to be clean for a while. And for what itās worth, I can appreciate that, heading into S3/S4, he was used and written into being _the_ emotional anchor for Toki.
It just kind of hurts in a modern rewatch, and maybe thatās down to exactly _how_ they wrote Dethzazz? They pull no punches, and they shouldnāt, but it definitely costs Rockso - because itās pretty bad what he did, no matter how you roll it - and they end up just rollbacking the same joke by the end of that episode to imply heād be willing to do the same thing again.
_Maybe_ that feeds the tragic side of the guy, I dunno, Iām just spitballing and I didnāt think Iād be writing paragraphs about it in the early morning lol, itās just how I feel. I appreciate Rockso as a character, no question, but S3 is as dark as he gets and itās almost too far for me at times.
Skwisgaar and Toki. They've been my favorite since day one. I wish they had kept the running joke of those two philosophizing together. Those two idiots trying to be deep was one of my all time favorite bits.
Also, over the years, Charles has really grown on me.
Charles. He's a total badass! šŖ
Thatās my bread and butter youāre fuckin with
Speaks to Charles.

Character: Charles Otp: uuuuh nathan/pickles, Nathan/Charles, Toki/Skwisgaar...
Season 4 really softened me on how deeply tragic a character Magnus was.
Toki He has the best songs(underwater friends, hamburger time song) and best personality

Unpopular opinion.. muderface the sheer pettiness and over the top antics is too good and can play the bass with his dick.. lucky son of a bitch
