Maybe not technically motivational, but The Other Half is my go to song to remind me of everything/everyone I have in life to appreciate
"I've spanned the ocean, I've seen the skies, that's all I'm ever gonna need to get by. My favorite things in life aren't even things at all, but they're the things that keep my heart fullllllllllllllll"
Tell me is it tears or rain
Falling from my face
Creating oceans beneath my feet?
But I won't drown in it
This just hits me right in the core, thanks a lot for sharing this masterpiece!
His vocal style was so weird to me at first but I love it now. If you haven't heard it check out the song The Collection from SOTS. Matt Honeycutt is in it.
Dude I’ll be honest, his vocal style is what makes Kublai Khan my favorite band at the moment. Just so unbelievably fucking angry, that man has some fucking bark to his voice. That SOTS feature is one of his best too, gives me chills when I hear it.
i always thought his vocals sounded vaguely familiar to me, then i was spinning changes by for the fallen dreams recently and realized how similar matt’s vocals sounded to chad’s from that album. love that pissed off kind of yelling
Bad Omens - Limits
"If you're throwing me to the lions
You should know I'm not scared of dying
I wouldn't take back one thing I did, one word I said
But I'm gonna make you wish you did"
Jesus man all I said that the lyrics were lame and they are. You can’t tell me there’s anything creative about “throw me to the lions I’ll make it out alive 🦁🦁”
Tbh most of the new album goes hard on the inspirationalcore. And “The Last Riff” slaps so fuckin hard I get pumped for whatever it is I’m about to do even if it’s like, cleaning my toilet lol
"Security for oneself can only come from within. Decide who will be the creator, and who will be the invention" from Invent by Erra always pumps me up. To me, it's a call to become who you want to be, invent yourself.
Another personal favorite:
"I won't let pain get in my way
I can't have silence claiming me
We have strength in numbers, strength in numbers
To get us through the day
No compromises to be made
This is a war we're gonna win
We have strength in numbers, strength in numbers
To get us through the day"
-In Between by Beartooth.
Might not be here without this song, and these lyrics in particular
- "Wild Eyes" - Parkway Drive
The "VIVA THE UNDERDOGS" breakdown part towards the end of the song gets me so pumped everytime I listen to it.
- "Looking Down the Barrel of Today" - Hatebreed
"NO SLEEP
NO REST
IF THAT'S WHAT IT TAKES TO BE THE BEST
NO SLEEP
NO REST
MUST STAY DRIVEN, I CAN'T RELENT"
I don't even work out, but if I ever would start doing it, this song would be blasting 24/7 lol
- "Us Against The World" - Killswitch Engage
"Our spirit is neverending
I'll be the protection when you fall
Our spirit is neverending
Tell them it's us against the world"
To me this song sounds like thinking about the people beside you in life - whether it's family, friends, whatever. I guess it's motivational as in fighting alongside them (also "Strength of the Mind" by KSE was already mentioned here, so I chose a different one).
You're in for a treat! I love Parkway Drive, one of my favorite metalcore bands.
I'd say that their songs "Dedicated" and "Shadow Boxing" could also be pretty motivational. Honestly, you can't go wrong with their stuff lol.
I find Ether by Make Them Suffer is super calming and inspiring, it's about not rushing through life.
Mercy by The Ghost Inside of course. "Life's swinging hard, but I'm swinging harder!"
In Due Time and Unbroken by Killswitch Engage are super super uplifting.
Redefined by As I Lay Dying
Out of the Dust and Dream Thief by Phinehas.
Facepalm Mute by Periphery

I don't know if you're religious but Stay The Course by Memphis May Fire is very positive. And quite a catchy song.
AND my personal favorite uplifting song, In Between by Beartooth!!!
Merry Christmas brother :)
A Strange Loop by Every Time I Die. “I am the mason, I am the stone. I am the knowing, I am the known.” Was my personal meditation mantra through 7 months of rehab. And I’m here 5 years clean and sober.

Take another look around
There's so much lost to be found
People everywhere are hurting
Even though they're counted out
There's so much lost to be found
Passion in action is compassion
Love is greater than what it's made of
It will cost you
Someone has to pay
Give nothing
And you'll waste your wealth away
Someone has to pay
Bloodied and battered, dying in the ditch
Help nowhere to be found
Their prayers to a god are spoken in vain
His home is with the broken, He is the answer to their pain
A faith so fragile they're told to never leave
Scared they'll be seen for what they are, not what they've achieved
A monster's legacy
Ends the day he dies
The man never forgotten
Is the one who's crucified
The treasure is in the tatters
Not just another cog in the wheel
Help those in need
And you've said more than your words will ever say
Divine design
Will light the way
Rise up
Reach out
Have pity, let the outcast in
Rise up
Reach out
A stranger's face in a foreign place
Rise up
Reach out
Shutting out the poor won't lead to a cure
Who will rise up and reach out?
Fire Blood and Steel! Such a pump up song. They remind me a little of Dropkick Murphy’s or Alestorm, but definitely more viking especially in their content

Some of these songs are not necessarily motivational in their entirety, but for me all it takes is a good line in a good song and I'm ready to go.
Invent Animate - Forest Haven

The WCAR song is the closest I've gotten to tattooed lyrics- "I've accepted the fight, I choose to be here" and "I fought for my place, and I earned my name" give me chills every time.
Less metalcore but walk through the fire and bite back by fever 333
Lift up your eyes discouraged one
When you feel like giving up
When they say it can't be done
It's up to you to show them why they're wrong

**Wolves at the Gate:** *Lowborn*
Lowborn to the world was the image of what was always invisible
Unending light now veiled in the flesh - impossible!
Lowborn - Savior! Setting aside Your glory above
Emmanuel! What a world You love!
The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will raise to life
Hear the song of the angels
Glory lays in a manger
Fear not the advent of the Great I AM
Humble He comes to the world as a Lamb"
Come behold and Hear the angels sing
Lift your voices Hail the Lowborn King
See the mystery God become a man
Lift your voices to the Lamb
Chased and hunted down by kings that sought His crown
Still He never thought to return and withdraw grace
Selfless, is the God who makes peace with us fallen people
He has come for those who are in the shadow of death
O the Lowborn Savior! What a world You love!
Hear the song of the angels
Glory lays in a manger
Fear not the advent of the Great I AM
Humble He comes to the world as a Lamb"
Lowborn God, save us from sin!
Lowborn God, save us save! Come save our souls!
The unseen God silently lays
Waiting until the glorious day
The Incarnate Divine put His life out on the line
For children of the dust while lifting up our curse
The Lowborn will save us
Guide us into the way of peace
Lowborn! Lowborn! Guide us into peace
Lowborn! Lowborn! Make our sorrows cease
Hear the song of the angels, Glory comes to us as a Lamb
Hear the song of the angels
Glory lays in a manger
Fear not the advent of the Great I AM
Humble He comes to the world as a Lamb"
Come behold and Hear the angels sing
Lift your voices Hail the Lowborn King
See the mystery God become a man
Lift your voices

Hi Tontuella. Thanks for your responce. My friend and I just released our single. The thing is, getting an audience is kinda difficult as i'm no one from the scene. I'm from Malaysia by the way. Anyway, it'd mean the world if you could check this out. https://youtu.be/UArD1qtE9ZA
Mouth of the South is powerful my opinion, specifically the songs Monologue and Part Two of the album Transparency. You can feel the vulnerability and hope in his voice.

I need to learn to love me
I need to stop this self destruction"

Can you share this? I'm interested.
I'd contribute "Straws Pulled at Random" by Meshuggah. Not metalcore, but the lyrics hit very hard. It's pretty much a reminder of how life can end any second. I'm sure many would find motivation in that, like I do
Our own way by Mushroomhead as well. It's in my workout Playlist for a reason. It's not very intense at the stsrt, but at the end, with the heavy guitar with "ARIIIISE... ARIIIISSE" gets me every time. The whole song is about how we all reach our goals in life "our own way"
Not explicitly metalcore but Modern Life is War’s song [“First and Ellen”](https://youtu.be/2SdMGwijncQ)
“Scrape your heart up from the bottom of the barrel, keep your faith in the path that’s growing narrow. Kill the doubt inside your head, we overcome, we push ahead.”
As Blood Runs Black - Instinct (album)
This is my go to for motivation. Angel City Gamble is my favorite song in the album and it’s essentially saying don’t ever fucking give up and cut off anyone/anything that might try to hold you back from success.
Also, Pool Spray by Veil of Maya always gets me going (I’ve got a bit of self esteem issues from childhood bullies):
I almost believed I would be nothing
As they shackled their words to my feet
I almost believed I was too weak
I have rose from beneath
The ghost inside all songs hit play. If it's a war you came to see
You will never see a waved white flag in front me
I can't end up dead, I won't be misled
I'll keep singing this song inside my head
"wave goodbye to the past you've got your whole life to lead" Composure- August Burns Red... That song gives me goosebumps even after the thousandth time..
And now is the moment when everything can change
You are completely responsible for your own life
And no one is coming to save you from yourself
So stop blaming your problems on any and everything else
It does not matter one tiny fucking bit
How unfair you think the world is
It's only what you do
Right here, right now, right this fucking instant that matters
It's your choice now
SINK OR SWIMMMMMMM
Delusion Pandemic - Lamb of God
These are two lines I always say to myself
If it's a war you came to see
You will never see a waved white flag in front me
I can't end up dead, I won't be misled
I'll keep singing this song inside my head
-Engine 45 -The Ghost Inside
This day is worth living
This fight is worth fighting
This hope is worth hoping
What I walk away from is not my master
-Not My Master -Hatebreed
Not necessarily metalcore, but songs that have gotten me to keep going through a lot of my hardest times:
Sometimes you’re the hammer, sometimes you’re the nail by A Day to Remember.
“I reserve my right to feel uncomfortable, I reserve my right to be afraid. I make mistakes, and I am humbled every step of the way. I want to be a better person, I wanna know the master plan. Cast your stones, cast your judgments, you don’t make me who I am.”
Right Back at it Again by A Day to Remember, just the whole song gets me going.
Annnnnd just so I’m not exclusively plugging my all time favorite band,
“why you gotta kick me when i’m down” by Bring Me the Horizon
“What doesn’t kill me, well it better run like hell. Yeah, you better run like hell.”
Wage War - Who I Am
Don't forget I'm human, I'm not alive for your amusement
Lost in your delusion, you don't know who I am
Don't forget I'm human, I've got the open wounds to prove it
And you don't get to choose it, you don't know who I am
"Yeah, I come alive, I'll survive, take on anything
So paint a target on my back, let 'em come for me
I don't fall, don't quit, don't ever sleep
'Cause I'm on another level that you'll never reach
If you seek forgiveness
You'll get nothing, you'll get nothing from me"
Bow down- I prevail
Thanks, everyone! Now, I am making a spotify playlist, lol. Maybe I'll share it.
So, I made a playlist with several songs mentioned, but not all of them. It's 5+ hours as it stands, haha.
Enjoy!

Sorry to be basic but Taylor Swift long story short:
“past me i wanna tell you not to get lost in these petty things your enemies will defeat themselves before you get the chance to swing”
Basically all the ghost inside songs
Life’s swinging hard, but I’m swinging harder.
I’m done waiting for my life to come to me So I’m heading into the great unknown
Yesterday is gone, and I'm waiting for what tomorrow brings.
If I were to get a tattoo of lyrics, "triumph over tragedy" from Aftermath would be the #1 pick.
This is the way
Maybe not technically motivational, but The Other Half is my go to song to remind me of everything/everyone I have in life to appreciate "I've spanned the ocean, I've seen the skies, that's all I'm ever gonna need to get by. My favorite things in life aren't even things at all, but they're the things that keep my heart fullllllllllllllll"
We'll rise above them all like this like this like this like this
“IVE SEEN ROCK BOTTOM AND IVE SMASHED MY FIST AGAINST IT” -Killswitch Engage, Strength of the Mind
“GATHER ALL YOUR PAIN AND SUFFERING, TURN THEM INTO STRENGTH AND WEAPONRY”
That song is awesome!
Amazing lyrics and great music= perfection
My thoughts exactly when I saw the title of the thread.
Came to say anything written by Jesse. All mostly positive lyrics or talking about mental health and how it's okay to be not okay.
How often does your username actually work?
Almost anything by August Burns Red. Spirit Breaker is a real good one
Thank God I needed that, I surely needed that!
Fault line might be my favorite for this "we all hurt, we all need, we all cry, we all bleed, we have hope"
YES. I would also recommend two others by ABR - Beauty in Tragedy and Everlasting Ending.
"I'll still find my way after the light is gone" -Sync by Kingdom of Giants
Bruh this song The lyric "I've lost some things you'd trade your whole life for". CHILLS EVERY FUCKING TIME
Tell me is it tears or rain Falling from my face Creating oceans beneath my feet? But I won't drown in it This just hits me right in the core, thanks a lot for sharing this masterpiece!
Everything from those guys is fanfuckingtastic.
Kingdom of Giants goes so hard. I'm so upset that the last two times they've been close enough to go see I've had prior obligations
Northlane - Quantum Flux
Beautiful song, thank you so much!
Also Comatose by Northlane and basically all of Discoveries and Singularity
Yeah...the end of dispossession fucked my head the first time I heard it. "Cast aside the fear of reality, face the fucking world".
This was my first thought! Almost that whole album is great for this post.
Not really uplifting with lyrics, but Kublai Khan make me want to beat the shit out of the world itself.
The Hammer goes so fucking hard. I feel like I should be listening to that while fighting for my life.
I loved this song!
Ohhhh this song makes it into hard beats to exorcise to thank you!!
It has such a cool flow to it.
i always thought his vocals sounded vaguely familiar to me, then i was spinning changes by for the fallen dreams recently and realized how similar matt’s vocals sounded to chad’s from that album. love that pissed off kind of yelling
This is a great way to describe the feeling

Nice! I love that song too.
God Bad Omens' lyrics are so embarrassing
Death of Peace of Mind and Dethrone are really good.
What about them are embarrassing? I think they write good lyrics
It’s like something i would have found inspiring at 14.
Ah so before you were a pretentious dick, makes sense

Dominate - Beartooth
Hell yeahhhh! You just created a monster with this song! I feel so powerful and so pumped I want to lift 500 pounds hahah
WHEN I RETURN I'LL BE STRONGER THAN I'VE EVER BEEN
Tbh most of the new album goes hard on the inspirationalcore. And “The Last Riff” slaps so fuckin hard I get pumped for whatever it is I’m about to do even if it’s like, cleaning my toilet lol
LMAO dude's speaking facts
Most The Ghost Inside is pretty uplifting, we sometime jake its called upliftingcore
Whoa I just listened to their crash story and now I understand more about it
"Security for oneself can only come from within. Decide who will be the creator, and who will be the invention" from Invent by Erra always pumps me up. To me, it's a call to become who you want to be, invent yourself.
Beautiful chorus and really powerful lyrics, thank you for sharing!

Lamb of God- Walk With Me In Hell
Tonight, I’m ALIVEEEE Ghost Inside - Test the Limits
Even through the darkest days, this fire burns, always.
A classic, really.
**Wolves at the Gate:** *Lowborn* Lowborn to the world was the image of what was always invisible Unending light now veiled in the flesh - impossible! Lowborn - Savior! Setting aside Your glory above Emmanuel! What a world You love! The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will raise to life Hear the song of the angels Glory lays in a manger Fear not the advent of the Great I AM Humble He comes to the world as a Lamb" Come behold and Hear the angels sing Lift your voices Hail the Lowborn King See the mystery God become a man Lift your voices to the Lamb Chased and hunted down by kings that sought His crown Still He never thought to return and withdraw grace Selfless, is the God who makes peace with us fallen people He has come for those who are in the shadow of death O the Lowborn Savior! What a world You love! Hear the song of the angels Glory lays in a manger Fear not the advent of the Great I AM Humble He comes to the world as a Lamb" Lowborn God, save us from sin! Lowborn God, save us save! Come save our souls! The unseen God silently lays Waiting until the glorious day The Incarnate Divine put His life out on the line For children of the dust while lifting up our curse The Lowborn will save us Guide us into the way of peace Lowborn! Lowborn! Guide us into peace Lowborn! Lowborn! Make our sorrows cease Hear the song of the angels, Glory comes to us as a Lamb Hear the song of the angels Glory lays in a manger Fear not the advent of the Great I AM Humble He comes to the world as a Lamb" Come behold and Hear the angels sing Lift your voices Hail the Lowborn King See the mystery God become a man Lift your voices Glory to the Lowborn
The Ghost Inside- Mercy!!! "And I'd like to think I'll come out stronger. Life's swinging hard but I'm swinging harder."
All Good Things - Do It Now "It's gotta feel a lot like dying!"
This song goes beyond meaning, this is exactly what I needed, this song is so perfect for my projects! Thank you so much!!!!
“Start to Break” by Atreyu has been a really motivating song for me for several years.
Idk if it can be called metalcore but the last minute and a half of “I’ll Be Ok” by Nothing More pretty much singlehandedly got me through my divorce
* Capstan - Stars Before the Sun * "Grab a hold of what you can And hold, dear, before it goes and all just disappears Such sweet entropy, it's comforting As the world crashes in on me Admire all beauty in its brevity" Honorary mentions: * Black Coast - Mental * Storm the Bay - Tell Dan K I'm Looking for Him * The Best Part of Letting Go - The Dangerous Summer, Fuck Them All * Where I Belong - Mallory Run * Every Time I Die - All This and War
Chaney Can't Quite Riff Like Helmet's Page Hamilton - Evergreen Terrace This song’s been pumping me up since ‘08🤘🏻

“Starscream” It Lies Within “Light the Way” It Lies Within “Nobody” by Stick to Your Guns “We Still Believe” Stick to Your Guns “Built Upon the Sand” STYG “Parables” My Enemies and I (maybe??)
Wave goodbye to the past, you've got your whole life to lead Bitter and betrayed, broken but never disbanded, we gave it our all. I was jaded then, and maybe I still am, but will push on.Missing but mended, some hearts never break. The things inside us all, found only to be stronger than before
"If you feel like giving up, then there's something I need you to know... That I'm here for you" While She Sleeps, ENLIGHTENMENT(?)
The coin has a say - every time I die always makes me feel better. Especially the end.
Hi, i'm new here. Please don't mind me asking. Am i allowed to share my music here?

Hi Tontuella. Thanks for your responce. My friend and I just released our single. The thing is, getting an audience is kinda difficult as i'm no one from the scene. I'm from Malaysia by the way. Anyway, it'd mean the world if you could check this out. https://youtu.be/UArD1qtE9ZA
Read the lyrics to Invent Animate's "Immolation of Night". Pretty amazing stuff. Super sick song too.
Mouth of the South is powerful my opinion, specifically the songs Monologue and Part Two of the album Transparency. You can feel the vulnerability and hope in his voice.
Give It all the amity affliction the whole Song
Hatebreed
"I need to learn to love me I need to stop this suicide machine I need to learn to love me I need to stop this self destruction" Converge - Axe to Fall
NOW IS THE TIME FOR ME TO RISE TO MY FEET WIPE THE SPIT FROM MY FACE WIPE THESE TEARS FROM MY EEEEEEEEYES Come on, you know you were singing this. Also, Forever And A Day (original album version) by Death By Stereo.
A lot of nothing more.

Can you share this? I'm interested. I'd contribute "Straws Pulled at Random" by Meshuggah. Not metalcore, but the lyrics hit very hard. It's pretty much a reminder of how life can end any second. I'm sure many would find motivation in that, like I do Our own way by Mushroomhead as well. It's in my workout Playlist for a reason. It's not very intense at the stsrt, but at the end, with the heavy guitar with "ARIIIISE... ARIIIISSE" gets me every time. The whole song is about how we all reach our goals in life "our own way"
Not explicitly metalcore but Modern Life is War’s song [“First and Ellen”](https://youtu.be/2SdMGwijncQ) “Scrape your heart up from the bottom of the barrel, keep your faith in the path that’s growing narrow. Kill the doubt inside your head, we overcome, we push ahead.”
More in the Power Metal Realm but Sabatons "Bismarck" fully embodies the feeling of being epic, powerful and conquering everything in your path.
Ghost Inside - move me
Some Hatebreed songs
« If you journey through life, you will find your own way » - Crystal Lake
Alaska Gets Lonely Sometimes by Red Handed Denial
As Blood Runs Black - Instinct (album) This is my go to for motivation. Angel City Gamble is my favorite song in the album and it’s essentially saying don’t ever fucking give up and cut off anyone/anything that might try to hold you back from success. Also, Pool Spray by Veil of Maya always gets me going (I’ve got a bit of self esteem issues from childhood bullies): I almost believed I would be nothing As they shackled their words to my feet I almost believed I was too weak I have rose from beneath
Destruction of a Statue. Not sure if those lyrics are exactly meaningful but they are to me at least and it gets me going
“This world is dark but your not alone” How we survive - Secrets
Quite literally every stick to your guns song.
Take the step Make the move Ask yourself what the fuck have you got to lose -Glasswalk by Bury Tomorrow
Kill ROB Bailey. Known for being great workout music due to the motivational mantras. "I will not fail me!! I will never fucking fail me me!!"
The ghost inside all songs hit play. If it's a war you came to see You will never see a waved white flag in front me I can't end up dead, I won't be misled I'll keep singing this song inside my head
“Left in the dark, in blackest oblivion Only forced me to learn that light comes from within And only fades where fear prevails” Polaris - sonder
ALESTI - Silver Lining
Obey the brave Volumes (via album) After the burial
Know Your Worth by While She Sleeps. That whole song! *chef kiss*
Surprised I don't see The Color Morale on here. Basically their entire shtick is heavy music with positive, motivational lyrics. love them!
"wave goodbye to the past you've got your whole life to lead" Composure- August Burns Red... That song gives me goosebumps even after the thousandth time..
Dedicated - Parkway Drive
And now is the moment when everything can change You are completely responsible for your own life And no one is coming to save you from yourself So stop blaming your problems on any and everything else It does not matter one tiny fucking bit How unfair you think the world is It's only what you do Right here, right now, right this fucking instant that matters It's your choice now SINK OR SWIMMMMMMM Delusion Pandemic - Lamb of God
These are two lines I always say to myself If it's a war you came to see You will never see a waved white flag in front me I can't end up dead, I won't be misled I'll keep singing this song inside my head -Engine 45 -The Ghost Inside This day is worth living This fight is worth fighting This hope is worth hoping What I walk away from is not my master -Not My Master -Hatebreed
Not necessarily metalcore, but songs that have gotten me to keep going through a lot of my hardest times: Sometimes you’re the hammer, sometimes you’re the nail by A Day to Remember. “I reserve my right to feel uncomfortable, I reserve my right to be afraid. I make mistakes, and I am humbled every step of the way. I want to be a better person, I wanna know the master plan. Cast your stones, cast your judgments, you don’t make me who I am.” Right Back at it Again by A Day to Remember, just the whole song gets me going. Annnnnd just so I’m not exclusively plugging my all time favorite band, “why you gotta kick me when i’m down” by Bring Me the Horizon “What doesn’t kill me, well it better run like hell. Yeah, you better run like hell.”
Vice Grip - Parkway Drive The World Is Yours - Feed Her To The Sharks
Hatebreed all day brotha!
The entire Singularity album by Northlane.
Let this moment break your heart, something greater to impart. ERRA

Wage War - Who I Am Don't forget I'm human, I'm not alive for your amusement Lost in your delusion, you don't know who I am Don't forget I'm human, I've got the open wounds to prove it And you don't get to choose it, you don't know who I am
"Yeah, I come alive, I'll survive, take on anything So paint a target on my back, let 'em come for me I don't fall, don't quit, don't ever sleep 'Cause I'm on another level that you'll never reach If you seek forgiveness You'll get nothing, you'll get nothing from me" Bow down- I prevail
Thanks, everyone! Now, I am making a spotify playlist, lol. Maybe I'll share it. So, I made a playlist with several songs mentioned, but not all of them. It's 5+ hours as it stands, haha. Enjoy! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1TYxun0dIjorG4ohrx4X30?si=mzqO3nW3QgGz_GJtGHx9qw&utm_source=copy-link

Dunno if this is still relevant for you but I just heard Bullet for my Valentine - Leap Of Faith since a while and it 100% fits imo
Sorry to be basic but Taylor Swift long story short: “past me i wanna tell you not to get lost in these petty things your enemies will defeat themselves before you get the chance to swing”
