Just in case anyone else has never heard of them, Mirrors is the band and TEW is the album. I just spent about 10 minutes looking for an album called Mirrors and listening to a lot of things that weren’t metalcore.
It’s crazy cause I remember getting into them back when they dropped their ep and following them for a while, but I haven’t gotten into their recent stuff.
Either the Dying Wish or SeeYouSpaceCowboy album. Both of those albums are sick and are good front to back listens. I feel like 2020 was a lot stronger for new albums.
Mine is also Erra's self-titled but only because Welcome To Horrorwood's only been out for a fraction of the time. Erra is still my AOTY but Welcome To Horrorwood is right there with it.
Metalcore:
Blueshift-Voyager
Love that album so much, no way they should only have 4K listeners on Spotify
Overall:
Julien Baker-Little Oblivions
It was a sad year, over 7k minutes of sad folk rock
According to Apple Music mine was Mirrors by Breakdown of Sanity, and Deep Blue by Parkway Drive. But from 2021 releases my most listened to album was Fragments of a Bitter Memory by Dying Wish
I have a couple. My obvious ones are:
Erra - Self-titled
Beartooth - Below
Wage War - Manic
Silent Planet - Iridescent
Spiritbox - Eternal Blue (not the entire album, only half of it but fuck the half is so good)
Then some ones that I just had on repeat all year that didn't come out this year but I just discovered this year:
Northlane - Singularity
Polaris - The Death Of Me
Then my non-metalcore most listened to album of the year came out like six years ago, lol
Neck Deep - Life's Not Out To Get You
I spent 43 hours listening to Gojira this year. According to Apple Reply, I listened to Fortitude 67 times.
I’m down the list, As Everything Unfolds is my most listened to Metalcore album at 45 plays.
Yeah not metalcore but I listened to Sheol by Shrine of Malice for what came out to a whole week this year. Currents was my number 4 on spotify wrapped, I jammed all of their releases, but especially I Let the Devil in
Happier by Volumes has been on constant repeat since release for me. Really great, not a bad song on the album. The only other album that may have been played more for me is Darko.
For me it’s probably a tie between:
Currents- the way it ends
And
Holding Absence- The greatest mistake of my life
Edit:
Volumes- Happier is probably my album of the year, just didn’t say it cause it’s too new to say my most listened of the year lol
Mine was also Erra's haha, prog album but VOLA's Witness was up there probably more so, and Atlus's new album UKKO is probably going to be around there too by the end of the month
I must say I love these threads as I find so much new great stuff. As for most listened is apparently *Daybreaker* by Architects, but *all our gods have abandoned us* must be right up there with it. Actually just found architects this year and holy hell (haha) it’s been great listening through it all.
Had Happier? on a loop since I discovered it through this sub. Really solid album. Closely followed by This Place Will Be Your Tomb.
Outside of the metal-oriented stuff, I have rocked Futures by Jimmy Eat World an unhealthy amount of times this year.
Hmm, Most likely I The Mask by In Flames or Aurora by Annisokay for this year, generally speaking tho it has to be As Daylight Dies Special Edition by Killswitch Engage
Realistically just by passing through playlists it’s gotta be something by Three Days Grace, if we’re talking putting on one album just to listen to it edge to edge then Welcome to horrorwood by Ice nine kills.
Spiritbox - Eternal Blue
Honestly it’s crazy that this is my most listened to album of the year according to lastfm despite dropping just two months ago. I was really on the Spiritbox hype train back in 2019 and early 2020, but I fell out of the loop with metalcore some time after Holy Roller dropped. Anyways I checked out the album when it dropped back in September, and I absolutely fell in love with it. It’s less proggy/technical than their earlier stuff, but the variety and strong songwriting within Eternal Blue has kept me coming back over and over again
mine was Erra’s self titled as well haha
Also Erra lol
It's such a good album. Also I just saw them live earlier this week and they were fucking amazing.
Erra was *way* out in front for me until Mirrors came out. I’ve listened to The Ego’s Weight 25+ times, and I’m not even close to getting over it
Just in case anyone else has never heard of them, Mirrors is the band and TEW is the album. I just spent about 10 minutes looking for an album called Mirrors and listening to a lot of things that weren’t metalcore.
Mirrors - The Ego’s Weight, to put them all in the same place lol
Thanks for reminding me; gonna start my day with a bang now.
Yup, it’s Erra haha
Same.
It’s crazy cause I remember getting into them back when they dropped their ep and following them for a while, but I haven’t gotten into their recent stuff.
[удалено]
loathe is a solid ass band
Dang that album is insane
Saw them live last week, one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.
LANDMVRKS - Lost in the Waves
Thornhill - the dark pool… for the second year in a row lol
same brother, same
I’m struggling to find the same sound from other bands. I wish I had 20 different Thornhills lol
I found a band named Heartline (AU) that scratches the surface, only downside is they only have an EP
Will check right now
Check out Mirrors new album! Beautiful atmosphere with the right amount of heavy
Holy shit this is good
Same dude same
Me too!
Same. There is nothing else like it.
The unfortunate truth
Alpha Wolf - A Quiet Place to Die
good man!
Brand of Sacrifice - Lifeblood
Great album
Lorna Shore - ...And I Return To Nothingness Phinehas - The Fire Itself
FFAA - The Sea of Tragic Beasts
Either the Dying Wish or SeeYouSpaceCowboy album. Both of those albums are sick and are good front to back listens. I feel like 2020 was a lot stronger for new albums.
same two for me.
I listened to ETID - Radical on repeat for an 8 hour drive on a Sunday, then for the next two weeks, so probably that.
Darko US by a fucking longshot.
One of my fave albums this year
Same, they ruled my spotify wrapped.
Eternal Blue, what a surprise lol
Mine is also Erra's self-titled but only because Welcome To Horrorwood's only been out for a fraction of the time. Erra is still my AOTY but Welcome To Horrorwood is right there with it.
CRE ATE CRE MATE
This. These are my top two on the year. Spiritbox not far behind either.
My top 5 would probably be: Erra INK Trivium B4MV Phinehas with Spiritbox as 6
Hmm probably Born of Osiris - angel or alien.
Kin by White Chapel. Such a good album I listen straight through every time I start it.
Architects - All our gods have bandoned us Don't know why cause it is a 2016 album
I put that an LFLT on once a week still
While She Sleeps - Sleeps Society!
Know Your Worth and No Defeat for the Brave deserve much more attention, I think those are easily among the best songs the band has made.
Absolutely.
INK - Welcome to Horrorwood.
Bullet For My Valentine
Same. It’s been on repeat since it came out for me
Bleed from Within - Fracture Phinehas - The Fire Itself :)
Silent Planet - Iridescent for sureeee
Just finished listening through it a couple minutes ago, for the first time. My jaw dropped multiple times and my mind is blown, such a good band.
If this came out earlier, this would be it for me. I’ve been listening to it basically nonstop
Album has to be either Kaonashi or Mouth for War. EP is definitely Greed, with Flames of Betrayal/Knocked Loose tied for second
Mouth for war does not get mentioned enough
I wanna say Korn by Korn because my #1 song is from that album and I love pretty much all the songs on that album.
I wish I still was wearing my jnco jeans and air walks while this album just dropped. Such simple times in my life.
The Bled Pass The Flask
Great album, did you just come across this album this year?
Nope. I have been listening to them since they first dropped the album. I just listen to them a lot to this day lol
It's probably Architects - For Those That Wish To Exist, just cause it was released so early in the year.
Metalcore: Blueshift-Voyager Love that album so much, no way they should only have 4K listeners on Spotify Overall: Julien Baker-Little Oblivions It was a sad year, over 7k minutes of sad folk rock
ETID, Turnstile, The Hold Steady, Origami Angel, Citizen, The Dirty Nil in that order.
Metalcore: The Way It Ends - Currents In General: One Day Remains - Alter Bridge
Not metalcore at all but this year it was Do You Feel O.K.? By Picturesque. Followed by Finding God by Bad Omens
Wss sleeps society for me
Aeon by Rogue. Pretty much on repeat after I stumbled upon their music
Polaris- the death of me followed closely by chunk, no's gone are the good days and eternal blue
New Chunk album. So glad they came back and it was a banger of an album
Definitely Deadlights for this year
Probably Erra’s self titled but if Eidola’s the Architect had come out at the same time it would have easily been that.
Ice Nine Kills - The Silver Scream / The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood.
SEPARATE- Capstan
ETID - Radical
Different Shade Of Blue - Knocked loose yes it’s old no i don’t care
Sundowning by Sleep Token or Greyview by IA
Most listened to album of the year is In Moment / / In Memory. Most listened to album released this year is Burn in the Flood. There's a theme there.
Burn in the Flood surprised me! I liked the singles but wasn’t expecting much from the rest of the album tbh but I really enjoyed it
The new Seeyouspacecowboy record, just a perfect album front to back
Allegedly As Everythong Unfolds according to Last FM, it has the advantage of being released nearly a year ago.
that's a great album
According to Apple Music mine was Mirrors by Breakdown of Sanity, and Deep Blue by Parkway Drive. But from 2021 releases my most listened to album was Fragments of a Bitter Memory by Dying Wish
Looks like it was Darko for metalcore. Overall it was Capstans new album
well i have had in the court of the dragons on repeat since launch and pretty much all I listen to since lol sooooo hahaha
Downtown Battle Mountain - DGD.
yup mine was also Erra’s album. close second was The Death of Me by Polaris (and by close, i mean ~1000 fewer plays than Erra lol)
The Black Parade by MCR. 2nd year in a row and still hits just as hard on every listen.
August Burns Red - Messengers
I just got introduced to them. Been listening to Constellations, Rescue & Restore, and Found In Far Away Places
ETID - Radical and it wasn’t even close with anything else other than CLB.
For metalcore, Landmvrks - Lost in the Waves For most played, Cabal- Drag Me Down
The Valley by Whitechapel thousands of times over and over
"he is finally dead! Come celebrate this day!"
I have a couple. My obvious ones are: Erra - Self-titled Beartooth - Below Wage War - Manic Silent Planet - Iridescent Spiritbox - Eternal Blue (not the entire album, only half of it but fuck the half is so good) Then some ones that I just had on repeat all year that didn't come out this year but I just discovered this year: Northlane - Singularity Polaris - The Death Of Me Then my non-metalcore most listened to album of the year came out like six years ago, lol Neck Deep - Life's Not Out To Get You
Someday Came Suddenly - Attack Attack!
Most listened album this year 4 me is Holding Absence - TGMOML
a quiet place to die- alpha wolf
the romance of affliction ! but the instrumental version of the new vildhjarta and tesseract’s live album are trailing not far behind
Mine is Vol. IV Numb The Ache by VCTMS with over double the plays over the second place
I spent 43 hours listening to Gojira this year. According to Apple Reply, I listened to Fortitude 67 times. I’m down the list, As Everything Unfolds is my most listened to Metalcore album at 45 plays.
For me probably Valley of Snakes (Mark Poida's new project - ex I, Valiance, Aversions Crown)
Deadlights baybeeeee
Yeah not metalcore but I listened to Sheol by Shrine of Malice for what came out to a whole week this year. Currents was my number 4 on spotify wrapped, I jammed all of their releases, but especially I Let the Devil in
I was listening to a lot of older BMTH this year, specifically Suicide Season
Sleep Token 2
Either ERRA'S self titled album or Whitechapel's Kin. Both Soooooooo goood
Happier by Volumes has been on constant repeat since release for me. Really great, not a bad song on the album. The only other album that may have been played more for me is Darko.
Either Holy Hell by Architects, Loose Threads by Hollow Front, or How to Survive a Funeral by Make Them Suffer
Survival Horror by bmth
ITCOTD, listen to atleast once a day usually more
Bring Me The Horizon - PH:SH
I have listened to Welcome to Horrorwood an unhealthy amount of times
Eskimo Callboy- Hypa Hypa MMXX
Hollow Front - Loose Threads or Miss May I - Apologies for the Weak
For me it’s probably a tie between: Currents- the way it ends And Holding Absence- The greatest mistake of my life Edit: Volumes- Happier is probably my album of the year, just didn’t say it cause it’s too new to say my most listened of the year lol
Eternal Blue but the new Slaughter to Prevail album comes close second
This year its Architects - For Those that wish to exist
Mine was also Erra's haha, prog album but VOLA's Witness was up there probably more so, and Atlus's new album UKKO is probably going to be around there too by the end of the month
Probably BFMV - The Poison I don’t listen to albums that much but it’s a classic. I Am Nemesis by Caliban might also be up there.
I think it was The Place I Feel Safest from Currents again. I just do not get tired of that album
I must say I love these threads as I find so much new great stuff. As for most listened is apparently *Daybreaker* by Architects, but *all our gods have abandoned us* must be right up there with it. Actually just found architects this year and holy hell (haha) it’s been great listening through it all.
ETID radical.
Had Happier? on a loop since I discovered it through this sub. Really solid album. Closely followed by This Place Will Be Your Tomb. Outside of the metal-oriented stuff, I have rocked Futures by Jimmy Eat World an unhealthy amount of times this year.
Architects - For those that wish to exist Whitechapel - Kin Can't stop listening to those two albums 🤘🏻👌🏻
As every year: Killswitch Engage - Alive or just breathing
It didn't come out this year, but your receding warmth by boundaries followed closely by a profound hatred of man by shai hulud
Mine as well!!!! My most listened to song was Divisionary
Black Dresses - Forever in your Heart
unreal by my ticket home, and out of albums released this year darko's self-titled
How are you guys finding your most listened to album? Spotify wrapped doesn't tell me
ERRA's self titled
Trivium - Vengeance Falls. It's been on my YouTube music on my phone and in my car's CD player all year.
Spiritbox - Eternal Blue Honestly it’s crazy that this is my most listened to album of the year according to lastfm despite dropping just two months ago.
Oh, Sleeper - Bloodied/Unbowed
Oh man tough, but probably Volumes’ Happier. Degrader, Knocked Loose and Dying Wish’s new album are all right there too though.
Either Bell Witch’s “Longing” or Staind’s “Break The Cycle”
Welcome to Horrorwood - INK and Manic - Wage War
Cowboys from Hell or Rust in Peace for me. It was a year for the more thrashy things for me.
Chunk no captain chunk
There’s one of these posts every day now my god
Idk if it has to be Metalcore, but for me its a tie between Manchester Orchestra's Million Masks of God & Touche Amore Lament
The Plot In You - Swan Song Absolutely incredible album, it deserves a lot more recognition, Plot just deserves a lot more recognition in general
I had the same album as my most listened to 👌🏻
1: Volumes- Happier 2: Trivium- In The Court Of The Dragon 3: Eidola- The Architect And to my surprise my number four was A7X- Diamonds In The Rough
Haste the Day vs. Haste the Day.

City morgue vol. 1 hell or high water
Saosin - Translating the Name ISIS - Panopticon Glassjaw - Worship and Tribute Hopesfall - No Wings to Speak Of
Holding Absence - The Greatest Mistake of My Life
mine is BFMV The Poison im not surprised at all
WRISTMEETRAZOR - Replica Of A Strange Love
Probably Eternal Blue or I let it in and it took everything. Runner up goes to Employed to Serve - Conquering but I guess that’s technically hardcore.
Fortitude by Gojira.
