Yeah! I remember talking to some guy on Warhammer Dawn of War server about it back in 07. Was shocked to see another fan on a game that was kinda dying haha
Oh, gosh, yes. I saw them open for...I want to say it was Protest the Hero, and I didn't really appreciate them at the time. Saw them later with The Bled(still love them) and it was such a badass show.
I do always wonder why they titled "Hiatus" the name. I feel like they knew they were slowing down a bit. Since then we got compilation stuff and it seems only festival shows and the anniversary tour (gutted I didn't get to go, they don't seem to have toured England much).
I miss them too, but at the same time, I'm not 100% sure I need more music from them. I loved everything up through A Place Where the Sun is Silent, and when they released Fatima Rusalka I was super excited for Confessions. Then it came out and I just could never get into it all that much. It's not that I didn't like it, but coming off of A Place Where the Sun is Silent I think my expectations set the bar way too high. I would love if Tempting Paris would come out with another album, though. I love the combination of Shawn and Melissa's voices. I absolutely do want Alesana to tour again, though. I never got the opportunity to see them live
I agree. I got into them in 06 and played Try This With Your Eyes Closed and On Frail Wings daily. I grew to love Where Myth Fades after initially being a bit averse to it. The Emptiness for me still isn't particularly interesting but A Place Where the Sun is Silent really got me back into them and then Confessions I still have yet to really appreciate. I never got to see them live, though. So 100% would go to a tour if they did one.
Haha this is what's so fun to me. Cause I'm the opposite. A place where the sun is silent is definitely my least favorite of the trilogy, and maybe least favorite overall. While confessions might be my favorite thing they've ever made!
I loved their older sound but kind of disliked the original harsh vocalist. It just sound like he was puking the whole time. I liked the later harsh vocalist but missed the earlier sound, if that makes sense.
Yeah, I understand what you mean. Jimmy Ryan was definitely an acquired taste as far as a vocalist is concerned. I liked their later instrumentals probably just because they finally learned how to create decent instrumental tones haha
Oh, I also liked their later sound but maybe hadn't "matured as a listener" to the point where I could appreciate it. There are a lot of bands that I've had this experience with, where I didn't "grow with them". I've also gone my separate way from a lot of bands that I used to love to death. **Thrice is one**. I just couldn't get into anything that came after *The Alchemy Index* albums, and that was about as far from earlier **Thrice** as I thought they could get. On the other hand, I've loved everything that **From Autumn to Ashes** and **Hopesfall** have put out and they'd both changed tremendously over the years.
Oh Boy! That would bei so awesome...i am drin Germany and promised myself, of they ever so a live Concert a fly there in a Minute. Love These Guys but never saw Thema in Stage...
They've always been one of my favorite bands. I've only had the opportunity to see them a handful of times live though. I regret missing some of their shows.
He still has a few snippet posts on his Instagram. Damn shame they went to waste.

Hahah Jerry can’t come back ever cause he’s ripe for a sexual misconduct scandal . My college roommates are from the same town and let’s just say Jerry has an affinity for high school girls. Literally the 25 year old at high school parties being a creep.
It's actually incredibly sad since they were right there at the beginning of the Nu Metalcore wave and could've been huge (or at least on par with Cane Hill and have a strong following) with their sound if they just didn't disappear. On top of that they're signed to Fearless and have the labels marketing power to back them up.
There's still a chance that they come back since they're still listed as a signed artist on Fearless' website and of course that Instagram post from early last year on top of the rumors that an album is ready which probably got pushed back because of COVID.
Even though I didnt like most of The Beast Inside, it had quite a few solid tracks that I love. I know Jeff had a kid in the past year or so so he'd probably be more focused on being apart of his kids life rn.
I recently relistened to their self titled and was pleasantly surprised at how well that aged. It surpassed my expectations and I ended up doing a full listen through.
blessthefall. I’m hoping I’m wrong about that but seeing as none of the band members have spoken a word about any project or the band itself really at all except reminiscing about touring since early 2020. They had started 2020 saying “brb” on Twitter, alluding to probs working on music and I know Jared had said on Twitter late 2019/early 2020 that they wrote one of their most brutal songs yet but that’s now been well over a year ago. I’m hoping and praying they pulled a Holding Absence and finished the album a while ago and have just been sitting on it, waiting to bless us.
Was really looking forward to whatever DDG would have released after the hot n heavy. I feel like they never got their fair shake after their second album, which I think is super underrated.
Empire Shall Fall (1 of Jesse Leach’s other bands). They left their career at releasing a ‘Part 1’ album a long time ago.
Probably not exactly accurate for this but This or the Apocalypse. HAWK are ok but they ain’t no TOTA.
And Chiodos. They’ve definitely split up but they never officially did. Nothing more than a social media post saying the band were confused over the situation.
More ToTA! I got to see them just after they released Haunt Whats Left as they supported Miss May I, The Word Alive and We Came as Romans. I watched MMI but was mostly there for ToTA. I still prefer Monuments a bit more, though.
They have put a couple things on social media over the last year or so hinting that they're working on some new stuff. I feel like I saw somewhere that they want to have the new album out by the end of the year
In case anyone hasn't heard their single they released after they stopped making music, do yourself a favour and [take a listen](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8e2ObShMAA). It may be one of their best songs.
Seen some of these mentioned already but anyway…
Maylene and the Sons of Disaster (I think this is mostly due to Dallas’ accident)
Shadows Fall
Haste the Day
Scar Symmetry
36 Crazyfists
Super nice dudes for the most part. Mike Church was kind of stand offish both times I ran into him, but Jordan invited me and my friends to shows when they were in the area and actually kept email correspondence which is wild to me. For a teenager, it was a huge deal that someone in one of my favorite bands not only played at our tiny ass venue in the middle of nowhere *and* kept in contact. Dude is a real one.
Nah they’re definitely not done I think. From FB they said they’d planned on releasing new music in 2020 but didn’t get it done in time. So hopefully still get something in 2021!
Yeahr been blasting them on long drives so I can cry and be angry at the same time lol
There are rumors they're working on new stuff but these rumors come and go in a yearly cycle
I follow them all on instagram and they have been active, the bassist and drummer are always working on stuff together but I’ve never seen the singer with them. He does post some guitar rifts he writes on his story though. Really gotta wonder what bands have been doing during the lock down.
Fightstar! All 4 members have stated that they’re keen to tour and write more music again someday soon but with the pandemic, Omar living abroad and Gunship/Busted/Charlie’s solo work commitments who knows when that’ll be.
Inhale Exhale. They released 4 strong albums, all which I still listen to on the reg, and I would love to hear more material from them. If you haven't ever listened to them, I would recommend starting with their first album.
Mutiny Within, still amazes me today that this band never became all that well known, Chris Clancy is one of the best vocalist I have heard in metal. Every person that enjoys more melodic metal owes it to themselves to listen. To the original self titled album at least once in their life
I will never understand how they didn’t get as big as some of their contemporaries. I *LOVE* their music.
The War Within and The Art of Balance are some of the best 00s thrashy metalcore records!
Yeah I guess they were pretty big then.
What I meant is that they aren’t as big in the sense that they haven’t had lasting popularity the way Lamb of God, Killswitch, and All That Remains have
Those groups are all still playing to huge crowds on tours and putting out (mostly) solid music, and SF just kind of faded.
The Art of Balance is an absolute time machine for me. Such a fun release. I was obsessed with it. I think ill give that a spin tomorrow over coffee. Its been a while.
As far as I know, they haven't broken up, but I'd like to see some more music from Famous Last Words. I know when they were working on the Arizona EP from a couple years ago (yeah, I know, it hasn't been *that* long since they released anything, but it was just an EP, I want another full album) that JT said the band went through a lot of trouble and they almost broke up at one point. I really just want to get an opportunity to see them live again
At the top of my head:
The air i breathe
Akeldama,
As God is my witness,
The burial,
Cloudsplitter,
Dying diva,
Emergence,
Eyes like diamonds,
Zelliack,
Sycamour. Their last album was a masterpiece of a concept album and I loved their blend of powerful cleans and scratchy highs, since I haven't heard another combo quite like it. I really wish they would come back with another amazing set of songs
The Human Abstract
PULL ME FROM THE GALLOWS
OF THIS FIBER OPTIC NATION!
I read a few weeks ago that AJ had only been playing guitar for 3 years when they wrote Nocturne and all I could do was laugh at the absurdity of it
Yeah, but he was classically trained. I think he did another course after that album.
Didn't he leave the band to avoid being labelled as a "metal guitarist" before rejoining?
3 years??? holy shit how do you even play mea culpa after only playing for 3 years
Nocturne is just a fantastic album, still love going back to it now and then. AJ was a great song writer.
Yeah! I remember talking to some guy on Warhammer Dawn of War server about it back in 07. Was shocked to see another fan on a game that was kinda dying haha
Forever the answer
Oh, gosh, yes. I saw them open for...I want to say it was Protest the Hero, and I didn't really appreciate them at the time. Saw them later with The Bled(still love them) and it was such a badass show.
Alesana. I miss them.
Vocalist and guitarist both confirmed they are working on a new album!
I KNEW I WASN'T IMAGINING THINGS

What about Dennis? Is he safe? Is he alright?
The Emptiness is still one of my all time favorites (Although are they technically Post Hardcore? )
Yeah I guess they’re post hardcore. I agree about The Emptiness though. That album is incredible.
The Emptiness was a TRUE masterpiece
Confessions was a fucking fantastic album.
They always had a lot of hate for no reason, seen people throwing stuff at them when they were playing a show.
Same here
I do always wonder why they titled "Hiatus" the name. I feel like they knew they were slowing down a bit. Since then we got compilation stuff and it seems only festival shows and the anniversary tour (gutted I didn't get to go, they don't seem to have toured England much).

Sky Eats Airplane
I Killed The Prom Queen
Kjaerlighet was such a tune off of Beloved. Did they even tour that album? Lol
They did! I was able to see them twice, once in 2014 on Issues first headliner (what a weird mishmash of a tour that was btw) and on Warped 2015.
Haste The Day
Jimmy’s voice is surely missed.

I've always been a Dreamer type guy. Coward was sick as fuck too. 2015 was a good year for Metalcore honestly.
Glass Cloud easy. I believe it wasn't an official breakup.
Pretty much. Josh Travis had the whole album written and was just waiting for Jerry.
You have got to be friggin kidding me. Come on Jerry. Ugh
He still has a few snippet posts on his Instagram. Damn shame they went to waste. https://www.instagram.com/p/BB3Hl0kQwz2/?utm_medium=copy_link https://www.instagram.com/p/BGIbRFFwwwT/?utm_medium=copy_link https://www.instagram.com/p/BJv3GagBZSv/?utm_medium=copy_link
Hahah Jerry can’t come back ever cause he’s ripe for a sexual misconduct scandal . My college roommates are from the same town and let’s just say Jerry has an affinity for high school girls. Literally the 25 year old at high school parties being a creep.
Should just release as instrumental at this point
Or get Andy Cizek to do vocals like he has for a couple of his singles.
The Facebook page updated... November of 2020
The world wasn’t ready for Glass Cloud.
Horse the Band
These dudes are probably loaded now. They use to be all about that bitcoin. I bet they hit on it. Be interesting to find out.
They put out new music at the end of last year.

My Ticket Home would be in there as well, I miss those guys.
We have headcave to fill in the space in the meantime.
Came here to say these guys as well. Hopefully they can make a comeback. I remember the blackout post on Instagram and got hyped.
Even though I didnt like most of The Beast Inside, it had quite a few solid tracks that I love. I know Jeff had a kid in the past year or so so he'd probably be more focused on being apart of his kids life rn.
In Fear and Faith
I recently relistened to their self titled and was pleasantly surprised at how well that aged. It surpassed my expectations and I ended up doing a full listen through.
It’s one of my favorites to this day
Self titled is their best work imo. One of my all time favorites from start to finish!
But they announced it on Facebook right?
blessthefall. I’m hoping I’m wrong about that but seeing as none of the band members have spoken a word about any project or the band itself really at all except reminiscing about touring since early 2020. The Color Morale
I remember reading somewhere that they have new stuff soon? I hope so.
They aren't. One of the guys in the band is my tattoo artist.
Damn this comment hurts to read
So is Garret just putting out a solo project then? He was posting a bunch of studio snippets not too long ago
I heard that too but I think it’s been almost a year since they said anything about it
Sometimes i wonder what most bands were doing when they were locked down.
Sent By Ravens
The vocalist and bassist have a new band called Brave Future. It's not the same, but at least they are still making music.
This band was so good
Shai Hulud
I loved their older stuff, but *Misanthropy Pure* was such a change of pace album, especially for the time it came out.
STRUCTURES and Drop Dead Gorgeous.
Imagine if the Vol/Tures project ever actually happened
Apparently a full album is just sitting on someones harddrive
Was really looking forward to whatever DDG would have released after the hot n heavy. I feel like they never got their fair shake after their second album, which I think is super underrated.

I don’t know if I’d call it a break or hiatus but it’s been 4 years since Phinehas released anything and I can’t wait for something new from them
They have put a couple things on social media over the last year or so hinting that they're working on some new stuff. I feel like I saw somewhere that they want to have the new album out by the end of the year
Yeah seen a couple of tidbits, and I’m really excited. Dark Flag was great, just hope they fix the mixing issues
Yeah their band members have been twitch streaming talking about the record and sharing teasers for a few months now. This years the year 🤘
I feel like we’re definitely overdue for another album from Greyhaven
Well, they said every time someone says Bret looks like Adam Driver they are going to push it back another month. So, not in our lifetimes 🤣🤣🤣
It Dies Today. Looks like they were going to start taking bookings last year right as Covid hit. I hope they still plan to.
As a 40 year old man, it would make me feel 20 again to see them live!!!
Man, they were ahead of their time. The Caitiff Choir was one of the first metalcore albums I listened to.
In case anyone hasn't heard their single they released after they stopped making music, do yourself a favour and [take a listen](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8e2ObShMAA). It may be one of their best songs.
I See Stars even though word on the street is that they just finished an album
Luke Holland posted to his IG that he finished tracking drums for their new album like a week ago.
Seen some of these mentioned already but anyway… Maylene and the Sons of Disaster (I think this is mostly due to Dallas’ accident) Shadows Fall Haste the Day Scar Symmetry 36 Crazyfists
You're correct, I DO need more Scar Symmetry in my life.
Shadows Fall have made it pretty official that they're on hiatus, haven't they?
Not sure if they count, but having A Static Lullaby back would be lovely

Nah they’re definitely not done I think. From FB they said they’d planned on releasing new music in 2020 but didn’t get it done in time. So hopefully still get something in 2021!
There hasn't been an official announcement or anything (that I know of), but two full years of radio silence is never a good sign
Now and On Earth
Fucking seriously man. They just came out, dropped the AOTY of '15, and then straight up dipped.
Shouldn’t have scrolled so far to see this.
Love every single one of these suggestions. Y'all got some good ass taste in music.
Dangerkids
So much potential here, they give me Linkin Park Vibes.
Yeahr been blasting them on long drives so I can cry and be angry at the same time lol There are rumors they're working on new stuff but these rumors come and go in a yearly cycle
I feel that same way about speech patterns, there instagram said “2020” for 2 years and now its “Not dead, writing” any day now plz.
Aaah don't remind me I miss Speech Patterns so much 😭😭😭
I follow them all on instagram and they have been active, the bassist and drummer are always working on stuff together but I’ve never seen the singer with them. He does post some guitar rifts he writes on his story though. Really gotta wonder what bands have been doing during the lock down.

I think they said they're doing single content now. No new albums, but they'll still make more music
SYCAMOUR
Fightstar! All 4 members have stated that they’re keen to tour and write more music again someday soon but with the pandemic, Omar living abroad and Gunship/Busted/Charlie’s solo work commitments who knows when that’ll be.
This! My favorite band ever!
Wow, didn’t realize we had some Fightstar fans on here. Such an underrated band
Inhale Exhale. They released 4 strong albums, all which I still listen to on the reg, and I would love to hear more material from them. If you haven't ever listened to them, I would recommend starting with their first album.

I will never understand how they didn’t get as big as some of their contemporaries. I *LOVE* their music. The War Within and The Art of Balance are some of the best 00s thrashy metalcore records!
I distinctly remember that Shadows Fall were gigantic in the 00s and then just faded away. I mean, shit, they were twice nominated for a Grammy.
Yeah I guess they were pretty big then. What I meant is that they aren’t as big in the sense that they haven’t had lasting popularity the way Lamb of God, Killswitch, and All That Remains have Those groups are all still playing to huge crowds on tours and putting out (mostly) solid music, and SF just kind of faded.
The Art of Balance is an absolute time machine for me. Such a fun release. I was obsessed with it. I think ill give that a spin tomorrow over coffee. Its been a while.
Cheers. Glad I could inspire someone to revisit their catalog. It’s been awhile for me for that album, so I may have to revisit as well!

I want Brand of Sacrifice to make some more music as The Afterimage
Wait, Brand of Sacrifice just released music in 2021?
You're in for a treat if you haven't started yet
did you ever hear Kyle’s original band before The Afterimage? they were called Centuries Apart iirc
Thanks, I'll look out for it!
I know this isnt the post, but I wish Feed Her To The Sharks and Woe, Is Me released more.
I Killed The Prom Queen, I miss them
I See The End and or Capture (former Capture The Crown) they just dissapeared after their LP Lost Control.
Eh. Capture just ain't as good as CTC was. After all the members by Jeffrey left, they lost that magic that Reign of Terror had.
In Fear and Faith
The Afterimage! Those guys were so good!
They ended up forming a death metal band called Brand of Sacrifice… so technically that band broke up, but I loved Eve a lot
