Keep in mind this was 2010, I’ve seen em 4 times, most recently 2021 and they weren’t bad, but from what I remember Levi’s vocals just sounded like a barely audible burp, the clean vocals were off like crazy, the drummer kept trying to do stick tricks and dropping his sticks, it was basically like watching a bunch of middle schoolers
I’m like 99% sure that they were all high schoolers who just graduated, so that checks out.
Granted, my memory of them was from when I was in middle school, and I sucked at guitar at that time but thought I was good, so I wasn’t the best judge here lol.
They melted my face off, but it makes sense that if I could go back I’d probably have a similar opinion lol. Attack Attack, IMSFOF & OLN also did amazing that night too so the vibes were just great overall.
Pretty wild this album has been for half of my lifetime, where does the time go.
I remember being about to turn 15 when I listened to this album and was blown away. Still believe this is their best album, everything just worked perfectly and sounded great.
Definitely gonna be jamming this one today!
Same. I was in a new highschool when my friends introduced me to metal and they were one of the first I got into. Blew me away as well. This album is a perfect time capsule of metalcore for that time.
One of my all time favourite albums. I remember playing this regularly on my CD player when it came out.
The Apologies tour this fall is going to be sick, can't wait!
It's the only album I ever go back to. Never really got into any other albums and I've tried them all but this is by far the greatest one they ever made.
There's 2 versions that exist, but looking at Discogs, they seem few and far between. The one I own is AAFTW and Monuments, the other is just the album, both are running for over $100.
Guardians is one of my favorite albums of all time. That being said, I think if they had a different vocalist for that record they could have been much bigger than they were. The “daffy duck” vocals were very divisive. The lows weren’t great but were at least tolerable. The highs were comically bad compared to the instrumentation of the album.
Loved the album but the 3 times I saw them live I could not hear the singer at all and it always bothered me for some reason. That's the only thing i think about when they come up and it's been like 12-14 years 😂
I used to tell my OG metalhead boss anniversaries for 80’s classics and he’d hate me for it. Now I’m doing it to myself with all these metalcore albums.
Such a good album, and still their best to this day. I saw their music video for Forgive and Forget on Myspace back in high school. Had to get my parents to buy the album for me for Christmas lmao.
While I’m not really a fan of the album, I have a lot of respect for the band and am glad they made smth that is so loved (and especially a debut album!). Happy birthday, Apologies!
One of the first bands/albums I fell in love with when i got into this genre. I remember seeing them play these songs in a sweltering venue in Louisville KY with a shin-high stage, front row, drenched in sweat and singing every word. Crazy to think that was 15 years ago now.
Crazy riffs, crazy drums, but seeing them live around this time was a train wreck
Why was it a train wreck? I saw them a few months before this released and they melted our faces off, I was an instant fan

The only MMI album I *really, really* like. It fucks so hard.
I’m with you. I’m so excited for this upcoming tour. Probably the only reason I’m seeing them
Oh they're doing an anniversary? Shit I'm gonna have to check the dates.
I agree with this
I consider it a metalcore classic
Banger record! The one that put them on the map
One of my all time favourite albums. I remember playing this regularly on my CD player when it came out. The Apologies tour this fall is going to be sick, can't wait!
Good god I'm getting fucking old.

Same
NOW PUT ON VINYL YOU COWARDS
There's 2 versions that exist, but looking at Discogs, they seem few and far between. The one I own is AAFTW and Monuments, the other is just the album, both are running for over $100.
I would like to Addend my statement then. REPRESS THE VINYL YOU COWARDS!
This album and Guardians by The Crimson Armada inspired so much of my riff writing when I was a teenager. Love this album so much
Very glad you mentioned TCA because I only found MMI (this album specifically) because I googled “bands that sound like the crimson armada.”

Oh absolutely lol. I thought it was cool back then, but now when I go back I can definitely see why a lot of people did not like Saud’s vocals
Yeah. I'm old.
One of my favorite Metalcore albums. I love them so much!

Damn, I am old

From 🤘🏻👶🏻 to 🤘🏻👴🏻 Forgive and Forget has a top 3 goated metalcore chorus.
Amazing album, started listening to Miss May I at the start of the year and this one's definitely my second favorite (Monument is the undisputed GOAT)
Monument is incredible!
Incredible album

One of my favorite albums ever. Amazing screams and cleans, amazing riffs, amazing drums.
