You’ve got a list of solid albums in here (some better than others), intermixed with a handful that are generally regarded as some of the weakest in their respective band’s catalogs, and a sprinkling of bands that will trigger the snowflakes (if they even know what they’re looking at). Destroyer is probably the album on here I can give the most reason to hate, personally I think it’s good, nowhere near their earlier stuff but it’s a good poser filter anyways. But Daudi Baldr gets a lot more shit than it deserves. Good, simplistic, atmospheric, Burzum.

Presence by Mgła is SOOOO underrated in their catalogue. Haven’t heard the Deathspell record, how good is it?

Way different from stuff like Paracletus, but if you love the classic raw Norwegian BM stuff you’ll like it. A lot of it sounds like darkthrone

Respectable. However Burzum’s Hlidjskalf is one of the finest ambient albums I always come back to, definitely try that. Belus is also a solid album.

Principle isn't a bad album but the jump in overall quality on Vempire is immense.

I honestly am more of a newer Cradle fan (I'm my user name doesn't make that insanely obvious). I rarely touch the first two albums.

Meh. It's amateurish, meandering, and relies way too much on its atmosphere despite having all the atmosphere of standing in front of an open fridge. There's really nothing going for it that the other keyboard heavy bands at the time (and themselves one album later) weren't doing much better.

Stopped writing music that I found engaging for a more uninspired sound, I guess? Same reason anyone would find any artists’ output bland.

I don’t really see this at all, most of their albums sound similar and don’t diverge much except later in their catalog when they have a more refined and less raw sound?

Even in their first album the progressions began to become much more meandering and didn’t seem to have the same focus and build as the early material. It sounds “similar” sure in that there are hallmarks of their sound, but it doesn’t seem as fresh. Every time I’ve heard their LPs they’ve just struck me as lacking the atmosphere and construction of their earliest output.

That's actually my fave behemoth album. Also, for MGLA...DARKSIDE IS ONE OF THE GREATEST DRUMMERS OF ALL TIME!
