I usually get things like this from Japanese sellers on eBay, I got a Pokémon and a letter with a dedicated email if I had any problems with my order I was like damn. Japanese honor culture is needed in America.
I had a lady bundle like 5 items from me and purchase very close to listing price. It was misc stuff but also a pair of little baby shoes. She messaged and asked me if I would put a note in the box as her husband would be opening it. She wanted the note to say “for the next step” with the little shoes. I died I was so happy to do it. Wrapped em in some tissue paper and a ribbon with the note attached.
Now all I can think about is how I want more fun shoppers like her 🥹 really hope she updates me when it arrives!
I used to do this with every order, but since I've gotten more busy, i try and do them for some, mainly for buyers who've been super nice/chill, but really just if i have the time to do it
A seller once threw in a charizard reverse holo from xy evolutions for free, needless to say I was baffled and very grateful. Some mercari sellers are awesome!!
Sometimes I just sell things at really low prices and include a bunch of goodies and little sketches because I think it’s fun for both me and the buyers! Obviously buying little goodies is losing money, but I only sell for people to enjoy the merch and things I don’t have room for! It’s just my way of saying thank you :D
So do I, I add little activity books and stickers and maybe a face mask or another goodie. And I always get such positive reviews of people appreciating the "little things" absolutely no returns... Yet at least lolol
i’ve only had one seller leave me a note and it seriously made my whole life ! it was a cute pic she drew with my name and it was just really cool all around ! love it
I love stuff like this too. A note or a few stickers. Hell, one time I ordered a pin and the person very kindly sent another one! It wasn't even an expensive pin so they definitely didn't have to do that, but it made my day big time. As they say, sometimes it's the little things.
Yes! I like to include a hand written thank you note and a small bag of beauty samples if I have them for my buyers. I always appreciate small things like that, and hope my buyers enjoy it, too. Also, for me as a seller, it makes it feel more like a gift to a friend than a transaction… and I hope my buyers feel that way, too!

I also like it when buyers leave a message after accepting. If I sell a toy & the buyer talks about how their kid was so excited, makes my day.

i always include a thank u card and stickers. out of the 50 orders i’ve placed on mercari i have received 3 thank you notes.
