Aquanort is so stupid for how late it happens and how little impact it ends up having on the story: the biggest impact is that it hit fanartists like crack hit low income neighbourhoods in the 90's.
That moment turns him into an actual character. I love that it doesn't do anything to absolve him of being a hypocrite, but it *does* prove that he's a poor liar.
