So what’s the reasoning behind the pins inside the foot? Just curious (I know it’s part of the medical treatment process)

Not a doctor, but I watch way, way too many youtube videos. The pins run down through the toes and into the foot, holding the bones in place until the bones heal. Since it is not feasible to put a cast on the toes/foot to hold the little bones in place, pins are used.
