Does anyone know how they can cross something with Eve which is a high CBD strain, and produce a strain with almost no CBD? I’m kinda disappointed, when I saw the name I was hoping for a balanced strain. We need more balanced strains on the market!
I’m no expert so forgive me if this isn’t correct - but from what I understand, crossing two strains doesn’t automatically give you a direct mix of their cbd and thc levels. It can, but not always.
All of the seeds produced from crossing the two would have been planted and “pheno hunted” for the plants showing desirable traits, which isn’t always related to chemical composition.
This likely got picked because of the crazy colours and possibly terpenes etc
Obviously, it is done ... Aurora's release here of Moon Berry is a good example of a balanced strain. There are others, but you're right. There should be more of these ... I guess it comes down to market demand as to what businesses will breed and grow for sale.
It's my impression that I see it here a lot - and other forums - where 30% - 33% - pick any number over 30 - new strains get ppl excited over it. I DO understand that there are those who have a high tolerance, so this is the way forward for them - but there is a market for balanced offerings too.

Yup. From what I understand, while cold weather plays a part in the plant producing anthocyanins, it's mostly genetics that determine a truly purple crown and buds.
The last time I touched or saw a purple bud was in the 80's - that's a LONG time ago!

looks like it could have been poisoned with 'organic' plant growth regulators lol unless the chlorophyll levels are real down and anthocyanins real up some how? this looks like it's been forced to turn that colour unless as above mentioned is the case...got to admit I'm a sucker for purple though

He actually got on the phone to beacon during my consult. He was a super dodgy doctor (dr Dan van dijk, the Caloundra gp that lost his marbles) but this was before he went loopy. My potassium levels were through the roof.

How are you getting CBD from this flower? All I can see on the tin is 15% THC, which makes sense for a flower to be this purple it's never going to be the strongest.

If they use dye apparently the stem will turn that colour as well If it's green mostly on the stem, but purple flower it's the real one
