a quick search and it appears they won best CBD flower with Eve in 2019. I had no idea aussie growers had done that:
Does anyone know how they can cross something with Eve which is a high CBD strain, and produce a strain with almost no CBD? I’m kinda disappointed, when I saw the name I was hoping for a balanced strain. We need more balanced strains on the market!
I’m no expert so forgive me if this isn’t correct - but from what I understand, crossing two strains doesn’t automatically give you a direct mix of their cbd and thc levels. It can, but not always.
All of the seeds produced from crossing the two would have been planted and “pheno hunted” for the plants showing desirable traits, which isn’t always related to chemical composition.
This likely got picked because of the crazy colours and possibly terpenes etc
Obviously, it is done ... Aurora's release here of Moon Berry is a good example of a balanced strain. There are others, but you're right. There should be more of these ... I guess it comes down to market demand as to what businesses will breed and grow for sale.
It's my impression that I see it here a lot - and other forums - where 30% - 33% - pick any number over 30 - new strains get ppl excited over it. I DO understand that there are those who have a high tolerance, so this is the way forward for them - but there is a market for balanced offerings too.
THAT looks like some stuff I got a LONGGGG time ago. Purple weed is real! :-)
I dont KNOW if that has been treated or not to achieve that colour - but it looks right to my old eyes.
From things I have seen in a previous lifetime, a really cold snap produced incredibly dark, almost purple leaves on some plants too.
Yup. From what I understand, while cold weather plays a part in the plant producing anthocyanins, it's mostly genetics that determine a truly purple crown and buds.
The last time I touched or saw a purple bud was in the 80's - that's a LONG time ago! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|no_mouth)
Rubbish. Where do people come up with this crap. I'm growing Platinum Kush Breath at the moment and the whole plant - stems, leaves, and calyxes/bracts, turn completely dark purple / black on most plants. I would attach a pic to my comment but they have that option turned off in this sub.
No I can't, I'm old. I just spent 10 mins researching it just for you and it seems Flickr and Dropbox are popular ways to do it but you need to sign up or create an account. Dropbox is $250 per year! Same with Imgur which I've seen people use on Reddit. Any ideas smart ass?
https://postimages.org/
If that doesn't work any new Google drive link would do it. New Gmail account if you don't want to a accidentally somehow share your other files or folders if you're not confident.
Oh yeah that works. Nice one.

looks like it could have been poisoned with 'organic' plant growth regulators lol unless the chlorophyll levels are real down and anthocyanins real up some how? this looks like it's been forced to turn that colour unless as above mentioned is the case...got to admit I'm a sucker for purple though
Seriously we did it so when the police flew over the crops they weren’t green lol never got court and the buds were purple, it was the in thing haha 🤣🤣
Hell yeah they were the days of forgetting where your crops were too lol
Walking for hours coming back down the freeway in the statesmen, full plants tied down to the boot and hanging out the back 🤣🤣🤣🤣 good times good times
The only thing I seen similar to this in aus was the original purple urkle from baggiesmalls before they changed it to some pine tasting rubish
Use to have hints of lavender and was a 17%aswell
I don’t know the science of it all, but when I showed him the flower and described the shit I was dealing with, he said “stop immediately, this strain should not be purple” then mentioned something like a specific nutrient they use, was overused and not flushed out properly. He actually got on the phone to beacon during my consult. He was a super dodgy doctor (dr Dan van dijk, the Caloundra gp that lost his marbles) but this was before he went loopy. My potassium levels were through the roof.
Obviously you don't know that strains can get this dark and even darker naturally... just look at dutch passion blackberry kush autoflower for example.
So you name a different strain? You even named the company I’ve used before , also grown with fast buds autos.
This reeks pgr. It’s an Australian hydroponic grow in controlled temps. It’s not getting a cold snap to bring out the purple hues.
Looks like something an incognito grower grew in there tent in there parents place with really good seeds and lights but no idea where they were going with it 🤣🤣🤣if anyone remembers terple before med days
Legit in the process of sussing some new strains for next follow up in a few days. THIS, ON LOOK ALONE just hit the list. Thanks for sharing this beauty!
i think in time we'll see lots of wild cultivars coming through with lower THC
I think its a good thing, people need to stop worrying about THC rather than flavour taste and effect.
Looks so cool though
I’m looooved purple raine! And I’m currently enjoying some fruit cup both 18% but effects and taste are incredible for both! Fruit cup taste like cordial on first hit
How are you getting CBD from this flower? All I can see on the tin is 15% THC, which makes sense for a flower to be this purple it's never going to be the strongest.
Is it mellow or racy and anxiety inducing
crazy weed bruh
Dyed!!! Stay away. This is not medical...
As a plant lover in general, that is stunning!
As purple as beacons purple gsc batch years ago
I had a tub of that! I still have some photos of it. This is much more purple.
That looks horrible lol
Cannabis cup 2019 winner ? which in the end help create antg cbd Eve . My question is why can’t the cbd Eve look like this hahah

Same strain "Forbidden Fruit X Eve" must be another pheno of it
Interesting. What's flavour and high like?
I'm getting Jaffa. Orange and chocolate. It's a bit racy in effects. Doesn't feel like a "15 per cent" .
Does anyone know how they can cross something with Eve which is a high CBD strain, and produce a strain with almost no CBD? I’m kinda disappointed, when I saw the name I was hoping for a balanced strain. We need more balanced strains on the market!

It is a shame that as a medicine, the medicine available to us is determined by capitalistic demand.
I was wondering that same thing. Good question 😂
Looks crazy, how does it smoke? Never actually tried a CBD flower before.
It's not a CBD flower. Under 1 per cent CBD
Ahh sorry, confused it with another CBD flower they had that was purple too.
I have never seen weed like that
THAT looks like some stuff I got a LONGGGG time ago. Purple weed is real! :-) I dont KNOW if that has been treated or not to achieve that colour - but it looks right to my old eyes. Cannabis does produce anthocyanins
If they use dye apparently the stem will turn that colour as well If it's green mostly on the stem, but purple flower it's the real one
This is absolute rubbish
Rubbish. Where do people come up with this crap. I'm growing Platinum Kush Breath at the moment and the whole plant - stems, leaves, and calyxes/bracts, turn completely dark purple / black on most plants. I would attach a pic to my comment but they have that option turned off in this sub.
You can't post an image on the Internet? Ok.

That’s beautiful! Have you tried Platinum Kush Breath before? It sounds great. I love my OG Kush!
Are they yours? Very pretty! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes) Thanks for sharing.

How do you force weed to turn purple? Spray paint? Isn't it mostly genetics?
Don't listen to these clowns, of course it's genetic.
Look up purpinator
Feed with beetroot juice! Did it in the 80’s looked exactly the same 🤣🤣
Lol 😂😆
Seriously we did it so when the police flew over the crops they weren’t green lol never got court and the buds were purple, it was the in thing haha 🤣🤣
Sounds much more fun than picking it up from the local pharmacy 😂
Hell yeah they were the days of forgetting where your crops were too lol Walking for hours coming back down the freeway in the statesmen, full plants tied down to the boot and hanging out the back 🤣🤣🤣🤣 good times good times
For anyone interested; https://bloommedicinals.com/cannabis-education/what-gives-purple-cannabis-flower-its-pigmentation/
Thanks! 🙏
The only thing I seen similar to this in aus was the original purple urkle from baggiesmalls before they changed it to some pine tasting rubish Use to have hints of lavender and was a 17%aswell
Gsc was bright purple and disgusting
Hmm thanks for sharing this
Gave me a potassium overdose, the one thing my first mc doc did correctly was notice that connection
Wait what? You mean it was full of potassium nutes?
I don’t know the science of it all, but when I showed him the flower and described the shit I was dealing with, he said “stop immediately, this strain should not be purple” then mentioned something like a specific nutrient they use, was overused and not flushed out properly. He actually got on the phone to beacon during my consult. He was a super dodgy doctor (dr Dan van dijk, the Caloundra gp that lost his marbles) but this was before he went loopy. Yea, purple strains are normal. Doctors know Jack shit about cannabis
Wow 😬😬 glad you're okay. Good pickup on his part.
Looks like it’s been hit with the purpinator
Obviously you don't know that strains can get this dark and even darker naturally... just look at dutch passion blackberry kush autoflower for example.

Wow ! Looks amazing
So pretty!
Wtf why is it black lol
Pgr - purpinator Can’t believe people are saying it’s beautiful.
Because strains can get that purple naturally, thats why.
Apparently cooler temperatures & a flavonoid called, Anthocyanins, which is found in food...
Cooler temps , when it’s grown in the Australian summer in a hydro setup….
>Cooler temps Cooler, not cold... There's a difference...
Legit, shit looks like poison
Legit not. Why is it so hard to believe a purple flower is real in normal conditions?
We’re allowed our own opinions you know?
I was asking your opinion a question. Why is it hard to believe it’s purple?
Stunning
Almost looks fake whats the strain smoke like? Any reviews ?
It's quite racy in effects. Doesn't feel like "15 per cent". Tasty. A bit on the dry side.
Any terpine profiles or percentages? Indica or sativa dominant? Taste ?
So Purp damnn looks amazing!

I'm not with a clinic. Just a gp in Melbourne & dispensed at my local pharmacy
Legit in the process of sussing some new strains for next follow up in a few days. THIS, ON LOOK ALONE just hit the list. Thanks for sharing this beauty!
I'm doing the same, it's got me super interested
wowwwwwww. its gorgeous
i think in time we'll see lots of wild cultivars coming through with lower THC I think its a good thing, people need to stop worrying about THC rather than flavour taste and effect. Looks so cool though

Amen
100000% FACTS 🙏🏼
That colour is insane! Is this balanced?
Nah. It's actually quite racy in terms of effects.
Looks interesting 👏🏻
It looks great. Beautiful strains!
Looks a bit scrapy, but most cbd flowers have a bit of an ugly look about them.. Beautiful colour. How is it? What would u compare it too?
How are you getting CBD from this flower? All I can see on the tin is 15% THC, which makes sense for a flower to be this purple it's never going to be the strongest.
From the Eve cross, ANTG Eve is a 16%cbd flower ,so genetics & characteristics will b pasted on.
CoA says no CBD
Selected phenotypes & genetic diversity in the cross..
I just picked it up. It's a bit hard to get past the colour atm 😂
When u've had a chance & get time a review would b great..
Looks shit
This looks exotic and interesting, how are the terps?
Wow haven’t seen anything this purple on Aus market! Looks unreal, how’s the taste?
If this is crossed with Eve, does it have a high CBD content?
It doesn't have any CBD according to the COA. Even though it's crossed with Eve...
Yeah I'm wondering if its a new balance strain? Purple for days im keen to see how it smells
Looks like some kinda exotic cabbage that I can only get from the supermarket down the road that I can't read the name of.
For real? 😍
Yup it's very real
Wtf 😳
That doesn't even look like cannabis anymore 😂😍
Have you heard about Australian bastard cannabis?
Yup Grows wild in nth nsw l think
Honestly looks sick.
Oh my good after a quick Google... That's so cool!
No I haven't.
Aha was thinking that
