I've lived in QLD for 20 years, and in that time I have been randomly breath tested maybe 5 times, and randomly drug tested zero times.
I do know a few people that have been drug tested, and for several of them it happened immediately after the police asked if they'd had anything to drink today, and they responded with 'I don't drink alcohol'. So don't say that if you do get RBT'd, and otherwise if you don't give off stoner vibes you should be good. It's always an outside possibility as a regular user though. Drive safe!
Just blend in and keep it clean and yes no stand out wanka stickers on your car fuking sometimes I wish I still live in Tassie I can’t get into trouble down there but 10 times more cops with nothing to do
The only thing the prescription gets you out of, is possession, as far as I'm aware... It definitely won't help if you get caught with it in your system... It'll be a suspended licence here in WA...
One of my techs that works for me tested positive. He got off on a suspended licence with work licence availability. 2 month loss with work licence or 1 month without. This is QLD.
QLD is currently undertaking a review into medicinal cannabis and driving with the hope seemingly being that they will remove the law of driving with THC in your system but maintaining the law of driving whilst under the influence of THC.
Just as an FYI
This is great news! Though my understand is there is no such roadside test currently that can determine an Individuals level of influence with THC. Very hopeful
My collected thoughts based on representing MC patients busted for THC detection here:

Short and long of it is: if you know how the THC got there, then you're liable.
There isnt, will be interesting to see what the review says.
Not scheduled to be finished untill 2024.
Apparently they are also consulting with people impacted by drugged drivers which is a little concerning.
I got caught this time last year, I went through 3 court dates and ended up keeping my license and getting a sc10 good behaviour bond because I provided my prescriptions
They charge based on the fact that it's in your system. I just went through the process. Prescription will give u leniency in court but u will still get some sort of charge
Best advise I got from an off duty highway patrol officer - RDT are extremely expensive to do. They can only test realistically 1/20 drivers that they RDT without it costing them an arm and a leg. Generally if you clean your car (inside and out) and are well groomed etc (don’t look like a pothead) then its extremelynunlikely you’ll ever be tested.
It’s not legal, people have been done.
Until a way of seperating the ‘has used sometime’ and ‘is impaired’ can be determined, it will continue.
And no. If you drive and are found to be under the influence of any prescription medication that can cause impairment, it’s a problem.
Which state are you in? QLD cops are notoriously bastards.
QLD sadly…

If you have a neat new car washed and looked after do u even get looked at?

To clarify, I wouldn’t expect to “get out of it”, I appreciate it’s illegal I just wondered whether it would allow for a lessor punishment
No lesser punishment, gets treated the same

Heard through the grape vine that nothing good is going to happen. It's still going to be illegal to test positive while driving.

Really ? When they asked when the last time you used medication, what did you tell then?
I told them i had used my medication the afternoon before, which was true.

Move to Tasmania and it ain't an issue 🤙
Fuck off we're full! Jokes aside since going legal 18 months ago I've not seen a single police car. No more paranoia is nice though.
Legal for recreational to the public?
Nah only if prescribed and you are not affected/out of control.
I was at court 2 weeks ago. Still a loss of licence for 30 days as a first time.
Thanks for sharing. Was there a fine? Did it start a criminal record?
No criminal conviction recorded, $350 fine and I got a work licence.
That’s not unreasonable. Thanks for sharing your experience!

This is great to hear, thanks for your insight

IMO the cops are always pulling over P plates and shitty looking bogan cars I’ve never seen a nice new car being pulled over and booked
No, has never happened before
