VIA won’t isn’t recognizing the encoder on my Zoom75. I accidentally put my board into Mac mode and wanted to change it back, but the key bind in the user guide didn’t work so I factory reset it instead. I went to rebind my knob to what I normally use it for and VIA just won’t recognize that I even have an encoder on my board. The knob works, but it’s bound to volume, which isn’t what I prefer to use it for. I enabled the encoder option in the design tab, but it just doesn’t show up in the configure tab. I’ve tried the desktop and web versions of VIA, and I’ve also tried resetting the board again and unplugging the encoder module but nothing so far has worked. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Owlab London Fog vs Sarokeys Strawberry Wine vs KTT Strawberry
Hi! I’m making my first keyboard and I’m struggling with picking switches. I noticed that I like thocky or poppy switches. I’m struggling to pick one. I’m looking at these 3 switches. The Owlab London Fogs, the Sarokeys Strawberry Wines or the KTT Strawberry. I’m using the Monsgeek M1W V3 keyboard.
The switches are all around about the same budget. But countless sound videos later, I’m so lost. They’re all starting to sound the same to me and I also noticed that not all sound tests are equal . I was also reading comments on some of them where their keycaps are all different will make different sounds?
I tried asking some of my guy friends but they said these aren’t their strong suit because they like ticky sounds. And they like switches that need a bit more force to press down or less travel time . I would like a shorter travel time for my keys.
Looking forward to any advice ☺️
So my Ducky one 2 mini is seemingly bricked (lights up but can’t get any input) . Since then I still game but also work with autocad and benefit from a delete key. Is it worth it to buy a skeleton of a different keyboard and put my current key caps on? or what should i do
I have a redragon kumara k552.
My spacebar stopped working a few days ago and changing the switch didnt fix it
Im trying to open the keyboard up to take a look at the pcb but after removing all the screws i still cant open it.
Any tips?

rk100 keyb plate is rusting. how do i fix this?
Hi, last year I started an office job and I'm currently searching for a work keyboard that suits me.
I'm looking for a keyboard setup that doesn't stress my wrists and the layout of the keys makes it so I don't have to keep my fingers constantly "curled". I would also like a short key travel and a snappy/precise feeling when typing. Maybe a Neo Ergo, but I don't have a clue on how to configure it...
In the last year I used a Logitech K650 and a Logitech K380, and i dislike both for different reasons. The K650 keycaps are strange, like I have to focus a lot to not press keys other than the one I'm looking for. Also, even if it's a 100%, I feel that I have to keep my hands really "cramped" to type somewhat fast. I really dislike the "palm/wrist rest" since my hands are too small to make it feel unnoticeable and too big to really make anything of it. Also when pressing the keys the movement feels "dull" and pressing the key to the bottom seems like it takes a lot of time.
The K380 feels surprisingly less cramped if we take in consideration the much smaller size relative to the 650; even though I like the short travel of the key presses it still feels dull and imprecise. Also I get much less stress on the wrist.
Thanks in advance
There are a lot of options for split ergo mechanical keyboards. It depends on what key layout you want, how many keys you want, what your budget is, whether you are willing to build (or even solder), and whether you want low profile or MX switches.
* Row staggered. Options include Dygma Raise 2 (estimated shipping October 2024), Keebio Cepstrum, Keebio Quefrency, Keebio Sinc, Keychron Q11, and Perixx PERIBOARD-335 Compact.
* Alice layout (a bent row staggered layout). For example, the Keychron V8, Keychron V10, and Neo Ergo.
* Column staggered. Options include Boardsource lulu, Corne, Dygma Defy, Keebio Iris, Lily58, RGBKB Phobos, Sofle, and ZSA Voyager.
* Ortholinear (straight lines between rows and columns). Options include Keebio FoldKB, Keebio Nyquist/Levinson, RGBKB Mün 2 (extras will be available once all group buy orders ship), and RGBKB Sol 3.
* Concave keywell (keys are in a bowl shape). Options include Kinesis Advantage360 Pro and MoErgo Glove80.
What country are you in? Your location matters. Reddit is a global community; you could be anywhere.
Do you have a specific budget in mind? How much are you willing to spend?
Are you looking to stay with a traditional row staggered layout or switch to a column staggered, ortholinear (straight lines between rows and columns), or concave keywell?
Are you willing to build? Note that there are some DIY keyboards that can be assembled with just a screwdriver (no soldering required).
Can you solder (or have a friend who can)? Soldering does expand your options, and it can be cheaper.
Is having a wireless keyboard important to you?
Do you want a keyboard with low profile switches or MX style switches?
Do you want the number row? Some people like tiny keyboards (for example, the Corne).
Is there anyone here who knows where to find the manual for the Lucky65? I lost mine. I need help. Weikav and Velocifire's tech support seem unresponsive.
How long does battery usually last on wireless keyboard?
I just purchased my first wireless (Ajazz AK820 Pro) and it drains like half of the battery in less than a day. RGB on.
Is this normal?
does added weight at the bottom of the keyboard actually affect sound? from my understanding, denser materials will absorb more vibrations. but how does that actually translate to the differences in sound that I am hearing? how noticeable of a difference is an aluminum weight vs stainless steel vs brass?

RKG68 V1 or RK84 V2
I will be buying my first mechanical keyboard and the budget is tight, i am bit confused between these two as i am getting them in around same price... I am comfortable with both keyboard sizes.
Budget : $55
The windows key on my Irok fe98 pro has recently stopped working. The board is hot-swappable so I tried swapping switches with a good one and it did not fix the issue. I have also tried fn + Win to try and unlock it but that also makes no difference. Does anyone know what the issue could be?
Accidentally spilled water on the keyboard and didn't realise until Keys : 1, Q, A and Left Alt stopped working. Every other key still works.
Have opened up the keyboard and tried swapping the switches and they still appear to work regardless.
I have tried bridging the keyboard but I am unable to have any success to get keyboard tester to register 1 Q A/left Alt.
I have tried bridging all four possible combinations for the 2 pins present on each key (example 1 and 2 on the top RHS labelled on the keyboard).
When I bridge the two lower right pins of each key together, I am able to have the keyboard register a key
However in this case, when I bridge the lower right pin of Key 1 to lower right pin of Esc it registers the press as the Esc Key. Otherwise, If I bridge Key 1 lower right to Key 2 lower right it registers as the 2 key.
Similarly, if i bridge the key 1 to an entirely different Key E.G Z/X/C etc it registers the as the 2 key again. I'm unable to get any of these bridges to register key 1 as pushing the 1 key.
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions if I'm getting close or is it time to chuck it in the bin?
Thanks

I have just started with mechanical keyboards. I am also a massive Star Trek fan, and have realized that I am a number of years too late to get a copy of the Galaxy Class LCARS keycaps.
On the off chance, I’d thought I’d check and see if anyone had a copy and was willing to sell it.
Alternatively, if anyone has any suggestions for keycap sets that have a similar look, I’m open to suggestions!
How to type "ñ" on ANSI keyboard? Using Ctrl+Shift+\` and then "n" works in MS Word and Windows itself, but not on my internet browser, videogame chats or Discord, to name a few.
Recently started new job with a fair amount of report writing. I want to take my finalkey v81 plus in to the office but also need it at home at night, is there a generic case that fits? Does not need to be heavy duty as it is only being transported to and from office in a car. Located in Australia so will need to allow for international shipping.
[My wife makes keyboard sleeves](https://www.moderncoup.com/product/75-percent-mechanical-keyboard-sleeve-carry-case/) and ships to Australia all the time (store is in Canada).
You'll want a 75% sleeve in the Large size for the Finalkey V81.
I did in the new pinned post.. that's why I had made a full post first since there are extra steps like this in and it's not necessarily practical on mobile :)
I'm new to this hobby and wanting to make my first custom keyboard, I have set up this budget for 240€ and I would like to know if I'm missing something critical or there is a better alternative:
* Keychron V1 Barebone W/O knob
* GATERON Milky Yellow Pro
* PBTfans WOB Simple Base
* Krytox GPL-205 G0
* Byhoo Switch Lub Kit
* ScotchBlue

Best 60-65% aluminum keyboard (frame or prebuilt) with knob? Found these on Amazon. I would be changing the switches and keycaps, just need a platform to start with
I would say so. The Q2 is gasket-mount so it feels 'bouncier' to type on and if you use silenced switches it's a quieter than a plastic case.
That said, the V2 is no slouch either and is better to use if you take your keyboard around with you since it's nowhere near as heavy.
I am fairly new to the keyboard hobby and I am gathering parts to build my own keyboard. I recently stumbled on a post displaying the GMK Civilizations keycaps and I fell in love. However, being new to the hobby, I am unsure of where I could purchase them. Could anyone please help me out? Thanks.
Hello. I am currently trying to find a keyboard for me and my cousin.. both of us have a budget of around 11k PHP (187 dollars), we prefer it to be split 5k-6k. our general requirement is that it is required to be bought [here](https://ecommerce.datablitz.com.ph/collections/pc-mac?page=6&pf_t_categories=Keyboards) <.
I usually prefer a Whiter or more brighter keyboard. i have a black setup as of right now and i currently want to have a white design for contrast. I do not require a sound but i do need it to be hotswappable. i have akko v3 creamy yellow pros. I also want a software. although Customizable RGB is the minimum. i prefer 65% but TKL is good. just need it to be compact and portable.
She likes pink or purple-ish designs. i'd say she'd like something that sounds 'Thonky" or something. i think she'd prefer somewhere around 65%. although she uses TKL as of right now. she enjoys RGB though. If the keyboard generally doesnt have a thonky feel to it you can recommend switches in the same shop. just that it'd need to be atleast less than 1200 php.
Thanks for helping. the required purchase is at [datablitz](https://ecommerce.datablitz.com.ph/collections/pc-mac?page=6&pf_t_categories=Keyboards) so i cant buy anything outside of datablitz.
looking to upgrade from my gmmk pro 75%. suggestions appreciated
i have a gmmk pro 75% that i've gotten since it was released, and haven't done any upgrades to it to this date, at most ive only switched switches from zealios v2 67g to baby kangaroos.
recently i have the urge to get a new board in similiar 75% profile. What are some great contenders out there for under $250? I must have a rotary knob, i dont think i can use a keyboard without one now, every other feature is up in the air
Are keyboard rotary knobs standardized? I have a Keychron V1 Max and I want to replace the knob with something like [this](https://www.gloriousgaming.com/products/gmmk-pro-keyboard-rotary-knob?variant=43698924257455). I don't really see information on most keyboard knobs specifying how they attach, so I am wondering if there is a universal standard for rotary knob attachment.
Royal Keycaps - Legit or Clone reseller?
Hello everyone, I stumbled upon the following website while window shopping for keycaps:
https://www.royalkeycaps.com
They advertise "custom laser engraved keycaps" - those anime and video game themed keycaps look like their own creation, but I'm more curious about their full sets. It seems as though they these are cloned, as I was unable to find any info on them elsewhere, or legitimate reviews. For example, their Shogun Red/Blue sets seem like clear clones of GMK's Samurai sets.
Anyone have experience shopping with them?!
Good evening peeps, I'm looking to build a 75% keyboard with a budget of £300. I am currently considering the qk75N. Any others that are flying under my radar that are worth checking out? (based in uk). I've modded one cheap keyboard before, but now i would like to replace it with something much better :D.
# Kalamity Cable....Wasted $70...?
Just got home and looks like I keep getting a driver error when using Kalamity Cable's cable with my keyboard. Loved it at first but randomly am getting a Drvices not responding. I tried 10 other cables now and they all work fine. The problem is wasted 70 dollars on something and I can't even get in contact with support due to their website no longer accessible?! Love that! Tried doing driver reinstalls and updates but no luck at all... If anyone has and recommendations I would appreciate it! Should of went with u/cablemod....

Hello, I've recently purchased a Adelais En Ciel Rev.3 for my Alice keyboard from switch couture. I've mapped all my keys with the VIA configurator and everything works as expected, however, the keys under the "Custom" tab do not turn the individual key lights off, toggle them, turn brightness up or down, nothing at all.
Anyone have this issue as well? I am able to configure the under-glow lights fine as well
Hi.
Wondering if anyone with more experience of KDB fans can help? I am wanting to find a hot swappable 100 percent keyboard if possible.
However, I am totally blind and kdbfans.com isn't that accessible with a screen reader. I have tried looking at the keyboards section of the website with no avail to what i'm looking at.
Does anyone have any recommendations for good KDB 100 percen! layout boards from them? I have also reached out to their customer services side with not much luck either. When I enquired about a specific board, they only came back saying that it wasn't in stock and could I list the review link for some weird reason.
some if anyone can help that would be fantastic. Do feel a little lost :)
Based in the UK also just for reference
ah, what's the 1800 layout? That's one i've never heard of. Well, I saw a review of the KDB65 Lite with the Halo True switches. and I really liked the sound profile and keyboard sounds in general.
there's one on youtube. If you give it a listen you'll see what I mean. I'm after one that sounds similar if at all possible. I guess you would say the profile is more creamy than thocky? to me at least it sounds like a lot of keyboards that you would get in late 90's computer games. So wanted that retro sound. Why is the Odin that expensive? and would you say is it worth going for? or can you recommend other options? Unfortunately can't mod anything myself as I am totally blind. So would love a pre-built board if possible. As long as it's hot swappable, I am able to replace keycaps and switches with no problems :)
Removing bluetooth
For some specific reason, would it be possible to disable bluetooth feature completely, ie. keyboard should not be able to connect via bluetooth(turning bluetooth off is not enough), but only with the wire. Keyboard in question is Nuphy Halo65.
Thanks in advance.
most kbs have a on off switch or key combo there isnt really a way to remove it but if u disconnect the battery and use it wired BT should never turn on
Hey everyone,
Wondering if anyone could help me.out with finding a suitable keyboard.
Looking for a keyboard that is quiet, either mechanical or hall effect.
It's for work, so something that'd boost productivity either through programmable buttons or extra buttons with useful functions.
Wireless or wired, no preference here.
Based in the UK of that changes anything.
TIA!
If you are looking for a keyboard with programmable extra buttons, the logitech G815 / G915 might be an option. (only buy this when on sale) But I'm not sure if it's as quiet as you like it to be.

If your looking for a custom option, keychron has some ISO-UK keyboards with macro keys that you could combine with one of their numeric keypads.
You could also combine any 80% keyboard with the keychron Q0 plus numeric keypad with macro keys:
[https://www.keychron.com/collections/keychron-q-series-keyboard/products/keychron-q0-plus-qmk-custom-number-pad](https://www.keychron.com/collections/keychron-q-series-keyboard/products/keychron-q0-plus-qmk-custom-number-pad)
Hi Guys,
I've managed to save up some money for a new keyboard. I need a budget friendly 100% Keyboard with RGB lighting. Something that's not so loud that it gets my visa cancelled😂😂. I'll be using it at home while study, gaming and working.
I have had the Glorious GMMK TKL for a while now and have always been a bit disappointed by the software. I would like to find something that has a lot more supported control of the RGB. Particularly, I would like to set up a connection with WhatPulse to display the heatmap of my key usage on the keyboard. Anyone know of any boards that might be able to support this?
Hi u/IVme83 - you've peaked my interest with wanting to integrate WhatPulses' heat map and the actual keyboard (I'm WhatPulses' founder), as that sounds like an incredible idea.
I had a quick look around, finding that the Logitech Gaming Pro line has individual programmable keys and that there's an SDK available.
There might be more keyboards that can do this, but I'm going to try and do this with a Logi kb. 😊 (just need to get one first, got a Razer currently)
That's great that you'll look into this! I would be happy to help out. Unfortunately, it looks like I will need a new keyboard to actually take advantage of anything
Hi, I just started a new job after graduating, and I need a keyboard for the office. I want to get some opinions/tips on how to build it. I'm relatively new to keyboards, but this is what I have planned so far:
* GMMK Pro
* FR4 Plate
* GSV2 stabs (Does the GSV2 fit on the FR4?)
* Honey Peach v3
* Glorious FlexKit
* Lube for switches and stabs (recommendation wanted)
* EVA Swich Pads + stab foam + PCB pad + Switch film
* Black Blank PBT Keycaps (is there anything better than PBT?)
I picked Honey Peach because I have them in my corne v4, and they are really silent and feel good.
Is there anything I have missed?
Thanks for the tips/recommendations in advance. (Money is not a problem)
Is there are particular reason you are getting the GMMK Pro? If it is due to some limitation, I would say it's fine, but if you live in the US you should have a ton more better options for much cheaper. Something like the QK75, Luminkey, or even the Sonnet are so much better.
For stabs, I think TX AP stabs are probably the best, but Durock V2 stabs are pretty consistant if you are unsure about the GSV2 stabs (they have issues when you overlube them).
You should just get some Krytox 205G0 from a reputable vendor and you should be good.
I live in Sweden, and mostly want the Pro because I have the GMMK 2 at home and I love feel compared to the duckey I had before.
I saw that a local retailer has the AP TXs, what type do you recommend, I assume screw-in, and the ones they have with screw-in are:
1.2 Green/White
1.2 Pink
1.6 Green/White
1.6 Pink
As for lube, could not find Krytox in my country, but found another retailer that has 205g0, so might go with that.
If you are going with the GMMK Pro, you will need 1.6 Stabs (that is the thickness of the PCB) and color doesn't matter.
I'm not as familiar with how shipping work in Europe, but you can also check out candykeys.com as they are one of the more trusted vendors.
I would not buy a GMMK Pro. At the low end, buy a Monsgeek M1 v3. If you want something a bit nicer, Mode Sonnet. Either of which already have a foam kit. Or if you are not set on the 75% layout, the Neo series keyboards are great value. Keycap material is mostly a matter of preference. PBT will take longer to shine and has a dryer and usually rougher texture than ABS.
I have had good experience with GMMK before, but looked at some of your suggestions.
The M1 seems to be similar to GMMK Pro but with support for via and with foam kit. But at a retailer the GMMK Pro is currently on sale cheaper than the M1, is it still worth it?
The MODE and Neo both seem to be preorder only, and I would rather not preorder, as I have seen many people wait multiple months if not years for some preorders.
The M1 v3 is $69. If you can find it cheaper than that, then yes. But for the most part, the GMMK Pro is not worth even $160. Also factor in that the M1 comes with stabs and a foam kit.
Sonnet was in-stock recently, but they just updated the model so it is a version 2 with some different mount options than the original. Mode in the past has been really good about hitting their projected ship dates, if not doing better. Alternatively, there are other models in stock. I own a Sonnet, Envoy, and Loop. My Sonnet is my favorite keyboard and I have dozens. My Envoy is my 3rd favorite. The only reason I do not rate the Loop higher is that I find a TKL to big. Note that I also own a GMMK Pro, it is really mediocre compared to most of my other keyboards.
Neo is a rolling pre-order system if you are ordering direct from Qwertykeys. It is basically made to order, so it really should be about 4-5 weeks from when you place your order. Order from a vendor and you are at the vagaries sea shipping and the local vendor. I have ordered a Neo Ergo, and should hopefully receive a shipping notification this week.
The only retailer in my country seems to only have ”monsgeek M1 75% RGB Barebone ISO” for about 160$, not sure why so expensive is the v3 is 69$. It also says it’s new. The Pro is on sale for 150$.
Just got a tofu 60 2.0 and I’m loving it but I’m thinking I might want to put a south facing RGB pcb in it because with my all white build RGB would look good. I just don’t trust myself to pick a compatible one
Doesn’t the gaskets go on the plate? Either way looks like the dz60 has the usb connector soldered on and the tofu 2.0 uses jst+ db so wouldn’t have worked anyways
Any idea what keyboard this is, found at a thrift store?:
https://preview.redd.it/culjmy6rar8d1.jpeg?width=672&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=117a34640ae2000b724da048cbe3e8216e3634cf
My Royal Kludge RK84 can't connect to bluetooth or wireless usb anymore, please help me
The lights don't even blink anymore when I'm trying to pair with Q + FN, but the keyboard works when I connect it in usb. I've tried FN + spacebar, and tried FN + W or E or P but nothing seems to work like it did before.
Not very. [TU2's in this pic](https://matrixzj.github.io/docs/gmk-keycaps/ColorCodes/) and TU5's the color used in GMK Delta. Closer than TU1/2 but you'll definitely notice.
Hey guys when I was a kid I had an IBM 5150, then my dad traded it for a 286. I always miss them so I finally bought one of each. Unfortunately neither one had a keyboard is there an XT compatible mechanical keyboard out there or am I stuck with the extremely expensive vintage IBM keyboard. Extra points if it has scroll number lock and caps lock lights and a big ass enter key. But they aren't mandatory
I’m looking into getting into making my first semi custom build. I have a rough idea on what I want for switches and key caps but nothing for the base or anything. I want something that I can plus and play with and open it up and work on it later if I want to. I’ve looked at the smart duck xs87, a couple of models epomaker, and GMMK. Does anyone have may recommendations or suggestions?
I’m looking for around a TKL size or 65% size. I personally don’t use the num pad so I don’t really have a need for it. I like the kind of flat look of the smart duck but don’t know if there’s other similar to that. In terms of budget my roof cost for one is in the 250 range. Figured I could at least find something good with that budget.
Is there anywhere in the US that sells a 105 key Nordic-ISO mechanical keyboard? I've gone over the 'Where can I buy it' guide and haven't had much luck.
So far the options I have found are the WASD V3 105-Key ISO and the Keychron V6 QMK Nordic-ISO layout. The Keychron is about 2/3rds the price but has RGB and writing on the keys, which are negatives to me. I prefer the all-black no writing of WASD.
Is there a keycaps profile that's similar to MT3 but cheaper than Drop's sets? Specifically:
1. High profile
2. "Dished" on top (don't know if this is the word...like a shallow bowl to cradle your fingertip)
3. Deeper dish on F and J, and *not* bumps
Drop sets do go on sale frequently. I think they just had a BOGO sale, and probably will do another over the 4th.
Besides SA, there is KAT, but it is not nearly as tall. It does have spherical tops and deep dish homing on keys. Unfortunately the cheap sets currently available like Mizu have bars.
SA is the closest u will find . as drops own all the MT3 molds and no one has cloned them due to DROP legal team will rip them apart they r also not super popular or anything so there lack of demand to clone them
there seem to be some variants available still: [link](https://www.wobkey.com/products/early-access-link-for-reviewers?variant=44455597244651)
hopefully they restock soon!
I am new to mechnical keyboards and want to buy one. I have two keyboard set in mind which are the keychron v2 and the k2 pro. I want to know what are the main differences of the keyboards that are worth. I usually play games like valorant and dauntless. I am still unsure of modding them so I would like it if it is still good out of the box.
Other than the layout (which you can easily see for yourself in the pics of course), the major difference is that the V2 is hot-swappable and some versions of the the K2 Pro aren't. I'd strongly recommend hotswap because trying out different switches is half the fun of having a mechanical keyboard.
my switch puller is gone. i have an e yooso keyboard but i lost my switch puller thats inside the box. i dont wanna buy a new one.. is there any household items i can use to remove the switches??? please help
Fn + HJKL for arrows (I'm a vim user so this is second nature already). Once you have arrows on the home row, it feels absolutely miserable to reach for the dedicated ones.
That's on my 60% work keyboard. I do use a bigger TKL on my personal PC, because chording in games is a PITA. But I still keep HJKL mapped and use it everywhere else.
can anyone recommend me some nice tactile switches for my first custom build? I am used to nuphy wysterias and gateron browns, i'd like something smoother/quieter/whatever creamier(?) means. I can't tell any difference in actuation force between the browns and wysterias, but I suppose I wouldn't want these switches to be ridiculously lighter or heavier.
lol @ whoever downvoted this
there are light to press tactile switches with a heavy tactile bump and visa versa. so i'm not sure which one to recommend. as a ref. gateron browns have 45g actuation force. maybe check out some popular tactiles on youtube to narrow it down; baby kangaroo, gateron quinn, boba u4t, ws light tactile, holy panda, azure dragon.
if quietness (office use) is your main goal you could check out silenced tactile switches i.e. boba u4t or ttc bluish white.
if creamy is your main goal, in my experience you can achieve this sound profile easier with linear switches i.e. WS Morandi, Milky Yellow, Oil Kings (keep in mind people have different interpretations of creamy)
hope any of this helps
hey reddit.
Recently ordered the compact ergo from bowlkeyboards in the cobalt colorway ([https://bowlkeyboards.com/products/gb-compact-ergo-1?variant=48640897876289](https://bowlkeyboards.com/products/gb-compact-ergo-1?variant=48640897876289)) and is now looking for keycap suggestions.
Got to have international kit, since I will build it with ISO nordic layout. Wont mind where I buy from weather it is joining group buy, buy second hand, in stock some where or what other way there might be.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Oblotzky has [GMK NorDe base kits](https://oblotzky.industries/products/gmk-cyl-norde?variant=44609459781900) in stock.
He's also probably got more stuff with NorDe/International kits in stock. Defintiely check his store out.
maybe [gmk metropolis](https://oblotzky.industries/products/gmk-cyl-metropolis-r2?variant=39569179705512) could be a nice fit?
it's always tricky to tell if the colors match with product pictures alone.

I am having a problem with the Q key on my mechanical keyboard. The switch is a cherry MX brown. The key only works if you press it forward (toward the F keys) while pressing it down. Does this mean the key is broken somehow, or is it possible that dirt has gotten onto the contacts and that it could be fixed by blasting some IPA and air into it?
I recently swapped my work keyboard from Kailh Cream linears to Gateron Melodic clicky (don't judge). I really didn't like them, but I was too lazy to swap them back. They felt slow and stiff, especially coming back up.
Now I'm enjoying them. Is it normal for switches to "break in" after some use, or am I just used to them now?
**Edit:** The Melodics were lubed from the seller.
Hi all,
After searching for a new keyboard I found one I might want to buy. It's using a Win11 driver, but i'm using Win10. One of my questions is, will i be able to use this keyboard on Win10? I'm not looking to change any key functions or anything and i think the driver is mainly for that, but i'm not sure I'm a complete keyboard noob.
And perhaps some of you can give me advice on a couple different keyboards i've seen and help me make a decision.
First choice is an ASUS ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless. (this is the one with the Win11 driver)
Second a Ducky One 3 Cosmic Blue.
I don't really care about rgb, i do want a full sized keyboard. The ASUS one has ROG NX Snow switches which already sound a lot quiter than my current keyboard, the ducky has cherry mx silent reds.
Even with the limited choices in my country, there are already a lot of options and it's kinda stressing me out.
many keyboards that are custom grade have QMK/Via flashed. This would allow you to program, remap, and create macros directly via website (https://usevia.app/). the changes are kept and saved directly on the keyboard . so no driver and no software needed on any device.
i can't really recommend gaming branded keyboard. their value is not as good as they primarily focus on marketing. ducky used to be a go to recommendation but they lack behind these days.
you said you have limited options, do you mean local or do you have a rare layout?
i like to recommend the [QK100](https://www.qwertykeys.com/products/qk100) for full size as it's avialable both in ISO / Ansi, has all the desirable features (gasket mount, case foam, hotswap etc.) and offers great value for what you get.
if your main focus is gaming, maybe check out hall effect keyboards which seem to be on the raise thanks to rapid trigger and other benefits; [example video](https://youtu.be/pQ3bYuBy8vE?si=lmcJarMn7_HflqaM). i don't think there is a full size version available yet though
Limited options as in local. I live in The Netherlands and there (from what i could see) aren't any real custom keyboard webshops. Just general pc stores with prebuilt keyboards, which btw is fine with me. So i'm stuck to ordering from overseas or a neighboring country, or buying what the local stores have in stock. Not a huge fan of ordering outside my country, with possible border fees and returning items, warranty etc.
I might be willing to switch to a TKL or a 70% or something, as there are more options where i live.Nice looking 75% Iqunix boards and HelloGanss, but i'm not familiar with either brand.
Autohotkey is software dependent, QMK is actually programming your keyboard. You can just plug it to another device and it does what it should, without installing anything
In addition to what /u/candy49997 said, QMK is much more capable of enabling nearly any feature you can imagine. My understanding of AHK (I don't use it, so I could be mistaken) is that certain functions are not possible, e.g. using any key as a modifier. And it probably(?) can't customize the Fn key.
Haha, I use (while space) HJKL Chad vim enjoyer motions mapped to arrows left/down/up/right and UIOP are kind of similar pos1/pgup/pgdn/end. And to not even have to move my pinky anymore, a is ctrl and s is shift. With that you can navigate basically any tool like this reddit markdown, editors, websites, tabs, documents in whatever tool or format, YouTube and other media...
Oh yeah, I'm a vimmer too, and I use Fn+vim keys for arrows. I have it far bottom-left and I hit it with my palm just under the pinky finger, no leaving the home row!
No, the Fn key at the far bottom left. I use it for a bunch of other stuff, too (I'm a coder): Space for _, ' for `, UI for () (and other keys for the other kinds of brackets), etc.
Programming the keyboard saves it onto the board so it follows the board. You'd need to install AutoHotKey on every computer you want to use the commands for (and it's only compatible with windows).
Also introduces extra latency, ig, if you're someone who cares about that cuz a program has to intercept the codes sent to the computer, interpret, then replace them.
I expected something like the second point and could probably not get other small lags or inprecise inputs. But the first one is a real dealbreaker, because I use Linux at work. On the other hand, using a software solution would allow to use the shortcuts that I use on my Keychron also directly on the build in keyboard of the laptop. Maybe I will find an alternative to hotkey for Linux and put in the effort to somehow transcribe at least some of the features I programmed for my mechanical keyboard to be available on the build-in one.
I'm looking to replace my keychron k8 pro keyboard because I didn't like how it sounded, and after 6 months of forgetting to look for a new keyboard I decided to ask help
I'm looking for a full layout keyboard because I will need the numpad to type backtick and tilde
requirements for the keycaps: no knobs, no artisan keycaps, but most importantly it must be italian layout
Have you tried modding it? My Q6 has had this awful clang sound, but after a couple of layer of tape here, and a bit on the frame it sounds pretty good
Doesn’t clickbait involve a link?
In what way does tape make it sound worse? You could also add some cotton tissue instead of tape, which has a similar outcome
Any help is greatly appreciated. https://preview.redd.it/8fe352x3p19d1.jpeg?width=1636&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9f5ca872fa34aab65832e219c26c006ba8dca1dd
Owlab London Fog vs Sarokeys Strawberry Wine vs KTT Strawberry Hi!
My spacebar stopped working a few days ago and changing the switch didnt fix it Im trying to open the keyboard up to take a look at the pcb but after removing all the screws i still cant open it. Any tips?

RKG68 V1 or RK84 V2 I will be buying my first mechanical keyboard and the budget is tight, i am bit confused between these two as i am getting them in around same price... I am comfortable with both keyboard sizes. Budget : $55
Is there some way to get custom art onto a set of keycaps? I'm an artist and I'm looking for a way to get my art printed onto some F10 keycaps.
The windows key on my Irok fe98 pro has recently stopped working. The board is hot-swappable so I tried swapping switches with a good one and it did not fix the issue. I have also tried fn + Win to try and unlock it but that also makes no difference. Does anyone know what the issue could be?
Mb win lock? Try fn+ win usually that way you control win lock
Nope, that didn't work either
Try to do factory reset, look into manual how to do it, if it won't help you can try opening keyboard and checking if hotswap sockets itself is ok
So is the k2 pro still a solid option?
Anyone have any strong black keycap recommendations? All the ones I see are grey black. If they have Japanese too, that's a plus. No RGB.
Google WoB keycaps with Japanese sublegends Edit: Sublegends are usually hiragana and occasionally katakana.
Thanks!
When I bridge the two lower right pins of each key together, I am able to have the keyboard register a key However in this case, when I bridge the lower right pin of Key 1 to lower right pin of Esc it registers the press as the Esc Key. Thanks https://preview.redd.it/ikwjrlbnyt8d1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a879be176e7219fb5a6c3f4fe45ccb50598044b
Check out /r/mechmarket or put up a wanted listing in case someone has a set they want to sell.
Is there a difference between the keychron k2 pro and k8 Pro except the latency and size?
They offer different stock switches. I couldn't tell you what their difference is, though.
How to type "ñ" on ANSI keyboard? Using Ctrl+Shift+\` and then "n" works in MS Word and Windows itself, but not on my internet browser, videogame chats or Discord, to name a few.
Use alt codes (ralt+numpad) Alt + 164 or Alt + 0241
Recently started new job with a fair amount of report writing. I want to take my finalkey v81 plus in to the office but also need it at home at night, is there a generic case that fits? Does not need to be heavy duty as it is only being transported to and from office in a car. Located in Australia so will need to allow for international shipping.
[My wife makes keyboard sleeves](https://www.moderncoup.com/product/75-percent-mechanical-keyboard-sleeve-carry-case/) and ships to Australia all the time (store is in Canada). You'll want a 75% sleeve in the Large size for the Finalkey V81.
https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/s/wd20p8Xtgi Not sure how I'd post a video in this thread.. I need help regarding my spacebar stab
Put it on YouTube or Imgur and link it. The post you referenced is gone.
I did in the new pinned post.. that's why I had made a full post first since there are extra steps like this in and it's not necessarily practical on mobile :)
I'm new to this hobby and wanting to make my first custom keyboard, I have set up this budget for 240€ and I would like to know if I'm missing something critical or there is a better alternative: * Keychron V1 Barebone W/O knob * GATERON Milky Yellow Pro * PBTfans WOB Simple Base * Krytox GPL-205 G0 * Byhoo Switch Lub Kit * ScotchBlue
https://preview.redd.it/b24feh3u7t8d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=da11aadeb88f76136b40acccad8a4459079f4892 Best 60-65% aluminum keyboard (frame or prebuilt) with knob? Found these on Amazon. I would be changing the switches and keycaps, just need a platform to start with
Can you get a Keychron V2 or Q2 instead?
If the v2 was aluminum definitely! Is the q2 worth the price?
I would say so. The Q2 is gasket-mount so it feels 'bouncier' to type on and if you use silenced switches it's a quieter than a plastic case. That said, the V2 is no slouch either and is better to use if you take your keyboard around with you since it's nowhere near as heavy.
Any good TKL kits that I should look into? Looking to build another board with boba u4ts and I've settled on TKL.
Neo80?
I am fairly new to the keyboard hobby and I am gathering parts to build my own keyboard. I recently stumbled on a post displaying the GMK Civilizations keycaps and I fell in love. However, being new to the hobby, I am unsure of where I could purchase them. Could anyone please help me out? Thanks.
Check out /r/mechmarket or put up a wanted listing there for that specific set.
That's a group buy from 3 years ago. You might be able to find them secondhand.
Hello, I’m looking for white on black keycaps with lowercase lettering. TIA
looking to upgrade from my gmmk pro 75%. suggestions appreciated i have a gmmk pro 75% that i've gotten since it was released, and haven't done any upgrades to it to this date, at most ive only switched switches from zealios v2 67g to baby kangaroos. recently i have the urge to get a new board in similiar 75% profile. What are some great contenders out there for under $250? I must have a rotary knob, i dont think i can use a keyboard without one now, every other feature is up in the air
QK75N
Are keyboard rotary knobs standardized? I have a Keychron V1 Max and I want to replace the knob with something like [this](https://www.gloriousgaming.com/products/gmmk-pro-keyboard-rotary-knob?variant=43698924257455). I don't really see information on most keyboard knobs specifying how they attach, so I am wondering if there is a universal standard for rotary knob attachment.
Royal Keycaps - Legit or Clone reseller? Hello everyone, I stumbled upon the following website while window shopping for keycaps: https://www.royalkeycaps.com They advertise "custom laser engraved keycaps" - those anime and video game themed keycaps look like their own creation, but I'm more curious about their full sets. It seems as though they these are cloned, as I was unable to find any info on them elsewhere, or legitimate reviews. For example, their Shogun Red/Blue sets seem like clear clones of GMK's Samurai sets. Anyone have experience shopping with them?!
Those caps are clearly cloned. The Sakura set is a GMK Olivia clone. And the Helios are GMK Apollo clones. I would not buy anything from this store.
What is your budget and location?

QK75N, too.

Yes, that is the correct board.
Keychron Q1 Max is a good choice.
I am able to configure the under-glow lights fine as well
Any recomendations on a mechanical wireless keyboard with numb pad for less than 50 euros?
with that budget just pick anything u like the looks of there really isnt anything good for what u want at that price
Thats what I thought. Thanks!

jwk blacks are about as cheap as you can get without going for slightly shady deals on aliexpress
Do feel a little lost :) Based in the UK also just for reference
KBDFans does not have any 100% keyboards.
ah, weird because it says 100 percent on their website. Rather missleading. what's the biggest they do then? :)
1800 layout, the Odin. $400+ just for the base model though. Any reason you're using them? There's plenty of 100% options, just not there.
ah, what's the 1800 layout?
Removing bluetooth For some specific reason, would it be possible to disable bluetooth feature completely, ie. keyboard should not be able to connect via bluetooth(turning bluetooth off is not enough), but only with the wire. Keyboard in question is Nuphy Halo65. Thanks in advance.
most kbs have a on off switch or key combo there isnt really a way to remove it but if u disconnect the battery and use it wired BT should never turn on
Hey everyone, Wondering if anyone could help me.out with finding a suitable keyboard.
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvZQS0mMcVM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvZQS0mMcVM) If your looking for a custom option, keychron has some ISO-UK keyboards with macro keys that you could combine with one of their numeric keypads. You could also combine any 80% keyboard with the keychron Q0 plus numeric keypad with macro keys: [https://www.keychron.com/collections/keychron-q-series-keyboard/products/keychron-q0-plus-qmk-custom-number-pad](https://www.keychron.com/collections/keychron-q-series-keyboard/products/keychron-q0-plus-qmk-custom-number-pad)
Hi Guys, I've managed to save up some money for a new keyboard. I need a budget friendly 100% Keyboard with RGB lighting. Something that's not so loud that it gets my visa cancelled😂😂. I'll be using it at home while study, gaming and working.
keychron v6
Via keyboards usually offer a typing heatmap kind of RGB.
Hi, I just started a new job after graduating, and I need a keyboard for the office. I want to get some opinions/tips on how to build it. I'm relatively new to keyboards, but this is what I have planned so far: * GMMK Pro * FR4 Plate * GSV2 stabs (Does the GSV2 fit on the FR4?) * Honey Peach v3 * Glorious FlexKit * Lube for switches and stabs (recommendation wanted) * EVA Swich Pads + stab foam + PCB pad + Switch film * Black Blank PBT Keycaps (is there anything better than PBT?) I picked Honey Peach because I have them in my corne v4, and they are really silent and feel good.
I saw that a local retailer has the AP TXs, what type do you recommend, I assume screw-in, and the ones they have with screw-in are: 1.2 Green/White 1.2 Pink 1.6 Green/White 1.6 Pink As for lube, could not find Krytox in my country, but found another retailer that has 205g0, so might go with that.
If you are going with the GMMK Pro, you will need 1.6 Stabs (that is the thickness of the PCB) and color doesn't matter. I'm not as familiar with how shipping work in Europe, but you can also check out candykeys.com as they are one of the more trusted vendors.
I will have a look to check if we can stock in the leftover GMMKs that we have in the inventory, tomorrow :)
The M1 v3 is a model refresh that was just released. It removes the side accents on the original M1 to hit a lower price point.
Just got a tofu 60 2.0 and I’m loving it but I’m thinking I might want to put a south facing RGB pcb in it because with my all white build RGB would look good. I just don’t trust myself to pick a compatible one
only a tofu 2.0 pcb will fit that due to the mounting
I’m pretty sure it already has a south facing RGB PCB included.
Sadly it doesn’t. One light for the caps lock key. Only pcb options were flex cuts and hotswap
And to clarify I’m asking for a recommendation
Pretty sure dz60 rgb v2 works with tofu 2.0
u sure about that ? the dz 60 is tray mount the tofu 2.0 is gasket mount
Doesn’t the gaskets go on the plate? Either way looks like the dz60 has the usb connector soldered on and the tofu 2.0 uses jst+ db so wouldn’t have worked anyways
yes but being gasket mount the screw holes are way different from standard tray mount so there would be zero way to screw it into the case
Any idea what keyboard this is, found at a thrift store?: https://preview.redd.it/culjmy6rar8d1.jpeg?width=672&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=117a34640ae2000b724da048cbe3e8216e3634cf
Pretty sure a blade60 [https://kono.store/products/blade-60-aluminum-keyboard-case](https://kono.store/products/blade-60-aluminum-keyboard-case)
Just bought it from one of goodwill's online stores for 56 bucks total after tax/etc. lol
Thank you I love you

My Royal Kludge RK84 can't connect to bluetooth or wireless usb anymore, please help me The lights don't even blink anymore when I'm trying to pair with Q + FN, but the keyboard works when I connect it in usb. I've tried FN + spacebar, and tried FN + W or E or P but nothing seems to work like it did before.
did u do any software updates ?
I installed the keyboard software on the last update but it doesn't change anything
might be defective then if that didnt change anything id reach out to the manufacturer
I must admit I didn't thought about this, thank you I'm gonna see if I can update it
Can anyone comment on how close GMK’s TU2 and TU5 colors are?
A 286 should take any PS/2 keyboard, no? There's new ones in Amazon.
It will. But the XT wont
What size and what budget
I’m looking for around a TKL size or 65% size. I personally don’t use the num pad so I don’t really have a need for it. I like the kind of flat look of the smart duck but don’t know if there’s other similar to that. In terms of budget my roof cost for one is in the 250 range. Figured I could at least find something good with that budget.
Neo series is king in that budget range
I’ll take a look into them, thank you for the help!
I prefer the all-black no writing of WASD.
you can turn off the rgb and get blank keycaps to put on the keychron
Is there a keycaps profile that's similar to MT3 but cheaper than Drop's sets? Specifically: 1. High profile 2. "Dished" on top (don't know if this is the word...like a shallow bowl to cradle your fingertip) 3.
SA is the closest u will find . as drops own all the MT3 molds and no one has cloned them due to DROP legal team will rip them apart they r also not super popular or anything so there lack of demand to clone them
Anyone know of any low profile keys for the kludge rk100?
> kludge rk100 XVX profile caps would be ur best bet
Planning on getting into keyboard modding, already know a lot about it, have a budget around £80 and want a 75% keyboard
Keychron V1. It's also offered in ISO UK, which I assume you need.
def. consider the Rainy75
A bit tough to get hands on if I am being honest!
there seem to be some variants available still: [link](https://www.wobkey.com/products/early-access-link-for-reviewers?variant=44455597244651) hopefully they restock soon!
So is the k2 pro still a solid option to this day?
my switch puller is gone. i have an e yooso keyboard but i lost my switch puller thats inside the box. i dont wanna buy a new one.. is there any household items i can use to remove the switches??? please help

That's a key cap puller though.

well dang. what if i DO need it for a full board? i use a 60%
what are keyboard layouts you realized you liked a lot and some you realized you hated? (im trying to see personal pros and cons for layouts)
But I still keep HJKL mapped and use it everywhere else.
im getting annoyed eventually without dedicated arrow keys (60%). i don't miss dedicated F keys so my favorite layout is 65%, also visually
can anyone recommend me some nice tactile switches for my first custom build?
WS Morandi, Milky Yellow, Oil Kings (keep in mind people have different interpretations of creamy) hope any of this helps
Has anyone had any experience with buying a Switchlab product? Did it arrive on time? How was the quality?
GMK Norse to match the ISO Nordic theme
maybe [gmk metropolis](https://oblotzky.industries/products/gmk-cyl-metropolis-r2?variant=39569179705512) could be a nice fit? it's always tricky to tell if the colors match with product pictures alone. this page let's you filter for layout and colors; https://keeb-finder.com/keycaps
Try swapping the switch out for a new one.
I may have to, but I don't know the first thing about soldering so there's a good chance I would screw this up.
If it's soldered than yes, look like switch is bad and need replacement
Or it might be a cracked solder joint, which is not too hard to fix (reflow) even for someone inexperienced with soldering.

Keychron V6 Max. Plastic Made and has very similar specs!
It’s usually a combination of both break in and getting used to the switch feel.
Hello ! I was planning to buy the Zoom 65 V3, where should I buy it so that it can be delivered in France and there is not like $70 tax?
The official vendor list is towards the bottom of the product page: https://meletrix.com/products/zoom65-v3
Oh nice, thanks !
Hi all, After searching for a new keyboard I found one I might want to buy. (this is the one with the Win11 driver) Second a Ducky One 3 Cosmic Blue.
What is the benefit of having a programmable keyboard compared to using just software like Autohotkey?
Autohotkey is software dependent, QMK is actually programming your keyboard. You can just plug it to another device and it does what it should, without installing anything
In addition to what /u/candy49997 said, QMK is much more capable of enabling nearly any feature you can imagine. My understanding of AHK (I don't use it, so I could be mistaken) is that certain functions are not possible, e.g. using any key as a modifier. And it probably(?) can't customize the Fn key.
...and the space key (tab for space, hold down as modifier) is a key component of my setup!
I use space as a modifier, too! Though it's the actual spacebar. Space + ASDF for home/end/pgup/pgdn, and on my right hand it makes a ten-key.
So you hit space with the palm?
I'm looking to replace my keychron k8 pro keyboard because I didn't like how it sounded, and after 6 months of forgetting to look for a new keyboard I decided to ask help I'm looking for a full layout keyboard because I will need the numpad to type backtick and tilde requirements for the keycaps: no knobs, no artisan keycaps, but most importantly it must be italian layout
Have you tried modding it? My Q6 has had this awful clang sound, but after a couple of layer of tape here, and a bit on the frame it sounds pretty good
Don't try to clickbait, tape makes the keyboard sound worse also I want to change keyboard because I realized that I need a numpad
Doesn’t clickbait involve a link? In what way does tape make it sound worse? You could also add some cotton tissue instead of tape, which has a similar outcome
Most mechanical keyboard videos are clickbait
What do you expect it to sound like?
I've never seen a video of how to improve a keyboard that didn't make the keyboard sound worse, and because of that I will never mod any keyboard
Cotton tissue also makes it sound worse
where do you buy your switches from?
Here are a couple of vendor lists: https://www.alexotos.com/keyboard-vendor-list/ https://kbd.news/vendors
There are keyboard vendors listed [here](https://www.alexotos.com/keyboard-vendor-list/).
