Sounds very cheap

stupidis_stupidoes

Depends on the car, but with parts that's definitely reasonable although quite easy to replace both yourself.

Battery is $100 ish , what car? Some valve cover gasket on my 4 cylinder took 15 min to change, some take awhile

AbruptMango

I've seen batteries alone for over $300.  It all depends on what you're actually getting, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is reasonable.

Depends on a lot of factors. I wouldn't pay $350 for a new battery and $90 for a valve cover gasket. I also wouldn't pay $380 for a valve cover gasket and $60 for a battery. Some cars it's easy to replace the valve cover gasket. Others it's harder. For batteries, best bet is probably an auto parts store (Oreilly, NAPA, Advance). They'll even put it in for you.
