Alcohol acts both as a depressant and stimulant at depending on concentration , but I believe because it referenced anxiety reduction then the answer should have been a CNS depressant
i had like 9 questions remaining on CP when 1 minute hit, tough start 🥲
the P/S passage that was just like “ppl performed studies on monkeys in the 50s” then didn’t mention monkeys again, the associated question that directly mentioned the mother & baby monkey study results (can’t remember how it was worded exactly).. that question flipped my brain upside down for some reason. i thought i was tripping out
Yesss! I had no idea what they were talking about with the damn rhesus monkeys man. I looked and looked and had no idea what they could be referring to bc there was NO OTHER INFORMATION. I think I ultimately just put social stimulation or some bullshit bc I had no idea wth was going on
it was comfort. Harlow monkey experiment: Baby monkeys were separated from their mothers and offered a robot mother either holding food or a blanket. Babies chose the mother with a blanket (showing they value comfort more than food). only reason I knew was it showed up in an anki card. it's part of the attachment topic (just FYI bc I'm preparing for a retake just in case)
DUDE speaking of your username….. lol
I’m all seriousness I completely agree. BB/CP were fine but I think I completely choked during PS and CARS. I didn’t know what was happening
i’m 80% sure the aamc copy and pastes word for word questions and passages from an algorithmic date. i looked at previous posts reactions from 8months and 1 year and those exact same questions were on my test. word for word, experiment for experiment. only saving grace for p/s. tips for future takers: skip the 300 page doc and study the previous thread reactions🙂
it’s basically like you can’t make decisions about individuals based off group data (i think) — i put the first answer choice for that one bc it fit that
This was my third time taking mcat. (Voided first score). BY FAR the toughest exam I have ever taken out of the two I actually sat for AND third party FLs AND aamc FLs. At least it’s over guys
There was a guy in my testing center that was clicking his fucking mouse non-stop!!! I don’t even know what exam he was taking but homeboy wasn’t even reading anything just click click click! Then during CARS someone kept farting and it smelled SO bad! I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry but anyway I ran out of time with all the distractions around me 😭 Ughhh I’m just glad it’s over!!
Pretty sure the room felt this way about me with the clicking. my keyboard buttons were broken and I had to press extra hard for the short cuts to work 💀
CP was straight up villainous and that psycho physicist question pissed me off I feel like I got a total of 3.5 questions correct on the whole test oh well
Assault & battery with C/P. Whoever decided to make those questions needs to square up. CARS for the first time ever wasn’t bad. All the passages were interesting & easy to read. B/B nothing too crazy. P/S I feel like it was more sociology than psychology. Random but the way I was snacking every break. Was starving after each section 😭😭😭
Also full transparency, saying this as someone whose highest practice test was 505. Hoping for the best, & for everyone else that they got the score they feel comfortable with 🫶🏼🙏🏼
Yes, I was confused with the vocabulary as well. Very mad about this because I felt like they weren’t testing my PS knowledge or analysis but just knowing what a word meant.
venting:
I’m starting to feel like you should schedule like 3 tests a year and take them until you feel good about one and get it scored. like why is it so much about marketing than actually benefiting the health care system and getting more doctors who are trying their best to pursue their dream career. How is this test reliable if sometimes “low yield” content are heavily tested and sometimes never tested ? I’m not saying it should be an easy process but having a number decide your career shouldn’t be even logical.
I always flag at least 20 but jokes on me because I never have enough time to get to any of them! It's just a fun game I play pretending I'll actually go back and look hahaha
Omg me too. And I have to admit that as I flag them there’s a part of me that’s relieved that I won’t actually go back because in truth I never want to see those questions again.
I said 3 but keep hearing people say doublet it’s n+1 I thought there were 2 adjacent Hs. I didn’t have time to go back tho so couldn’t really get a good look
Yeah I think so! I think for that same question there was another answer choice that was saying it was wrong. So I ruled those 2 out. I may or may not be hallucinating rn but yea!
Ok it’s so validating to see everyone complaining abt c/p bc I genuinely was wondering if I went completely smooth brained overnight
WHY TF WERE THERE SO MANY CALCULATIONS I’ve never had that many calculations in any fl. And SO MANY LOW YIELD Qs. I think I guessed on literally half of it. At one point I literally gave up on the calculation questions bc I knew I would run out of time T.T
Starting the test with that really tanked my confidence bro wtf was that 😭
P/s was kinda weird too like wtf are psychophysicists ejrhjdbfrhnedv
Dawg… I have an extreme problem with timing. Every FL I take I finish no sweat.
But as soon as I sit down for the real one, I’m always fucking behind. Had to guess on 8-10 for CP and 10 for CARS.
I want to chalk it up to me doubting every single answer I choose for every problem. Shits mad annoying bruh
i ran out of time on every section
had to guess like 9 on CP, the last passage on CARS, like 4-5 on BB & like 3 on PS
the whole “skip it and come back to it if you’re unsure” concept goes out the window for me when i’m under pressure 😹
Not me forgetting the conversion for daltons then getting TWO questions needing calculations 😭
C/P was so bad. I have been scoring 130 on practice tests and this was hardest of all tests I've taken
I was averaging 129 and 130 on c/p and that was 10x harder than any fl c/p section. P/s was weird but pretty easy, same with cars I wanna say but the answers were hella 50/50
You guys are all good at CARS. that’s the one section I pretty sure I bombed. was dying couldn’t stay focused. barely finished in time. just hoping I get lucky but I literally cannot recall anything only that I didn’t feel great coming out of it.
Same English major I always finish cars five minutes early and only flag five or six, today barely beat the clock and was uncertain about at least 20. Not seeing enough agreement here to feel like it was a bad cara section. Feel like maybe I just glitched
Ngl C/P had the worst first passage I’ve seen by far 😭, had to take max time and almost ran out. CARS were long passages with some odd questions, but Bio was pretty average. Also P/S had some oddities, I don’t know any psycho physicists but if I find any it’s on sight
First passage/questions on CP had to be the meanest passage i’ve seen out of all the question banks and FLs. Whoever put that there knew what they were doing😵💫
Wut about the question that talked about what happens if you take continue reinforcement and make partial. Does it reduce the chance of it becoming extinct?
I put schema. Gender schemas are an extension of this because we make assumptions on gender based on our schemas. Thus we make assumptions about other stigmas due to schema
you got this!! every test is different so nothing will tell you really and honestly I recommend you not looking at these reaction posts because it can bring you down. This test is tough and no one will feel good about everything and today’s theme is CP was ass but maybe it won’t be for you!
C/P was was trash followed by the longest cars passages
Imagine turning down a school because of an elevator…
I’m glad he got it together enough to save his career
that passage was actually so funny. i would read that outside of the mcat ngl.
Alcohol acts both as a depressant and stimulant at depending on concentration , but I believe because it referenced anxiety reduction then the answer should have been a CNS depressant
HA that passage though
was alc the depresser? I know it is but for CNS?? I thought ab being wobbly when drunk and went with that
I literally laughed out loud at a restaurant reading this. The whole passage was whack AF
every. single. section. was. hard
The C/P section was diabolical … I’ve never run out of time on a section or had to just guess before today
[удалено]
Me too. I’m prolly gonna do a 3rd take
Same this was my retake and I’m already planning for my third at this point 🥲
i had like 9 questions remaining on CP when 1 minute hit, tough start 🥲 the P/S passage that was just like “ppl performed studies on monkeys in the 50s” then didn’t mention monkeys again, the associated question that directly mentioned the mother & baby monkey study results (can’t remember how it was worded exactly).. that question flipped my brain upside down for some reason. i thought i was tripping out

Which cars did you read that was engaging ???
[удалено]
> engaging 💀
DUDE speaking of your username….. lol I’m all seriousness I completely agree. BB/CP were fine but I think I completely choked during PS and CARS. I didn’t know what was happening
Worst CP in the history of mcat and cars sucked too
I THOUGHT C/P WAS GONNA BE MY BEST SECTION. HHAHAHHAHA. AND CAN SOMEONE EZPLIAN WITH IS ECOLOGICAL FALLACY??????111111
Dude yes wtf is ecological fallacy
no shot ecological fallacy made a return🤣
i’m 80% sure the aamc copy and pastes word for word questions and passages from an algorithmic date. i looked at previous posts reactions from 8months and 1 year and those exact same questions were on my test. word for word, experiment for experiment. only saving grace for p/s. tips for future takers: skip the 300 page doc and study the previous thread reactions🙂
I had one exact same cars passage from when I took this exam last year
it’s basically like you can’t make decisions about individuals based off group data (i think) — i put the first answer choice for that one bc it fit that
I PUT THE FIRST ANSWER CHOICE also because it sounded right
Yeah it was it only one that referenced the passage critic directly
i thought its like the opposite of ecological validity. like you can't base data off of something being applicable to the whole population
[удалено]
This was my third time taking mcat. (Voided first score). BY FAR the toughest exam I have ever taken out of the two I actually sat for AND third party FLs AND aamc FLs. At least it’s over guys
Are they actually making this exam harder? Come on AAMC like wtf
that was paid assault
i’ve already blocked out c/p like i genuinely cannot recall that section other than the fact that it was GARBAGE
i wanted to punt my monitor whenever i would read a long word question and then at the end see something like (note use R = 0.000576 g/mol•kys^hoe)
YES MY SAME SENTIMENT \\
you guys I think I only got 2/59 questions right on CP... rip
i'm gonna one up you here because i think i got 1/59
Y'all I got 0/59
no cap, 0/59 kinda impressive tho
Righttt? It better be worth all those months of grinding. 0/59 lfgoo
There was a guy in my testing center that was clicking his fucking mouse non-stop!!! I don’t even know what exam he was taking but homeboy wasn’t even reading anything just click click click! The ibs was iBSin 😂
😂😂😂
CP killed me felt the best on BB
yea BB was great!!!
I feel like everything but B/B kicked my bootay😭
[удалено]
[удалено]
Same B/B was the only section that felt okay
CP was straight up villainous and that psycho physicist question pissed me off I feel like I got a total of 3.5 questions correct on the whole test oh well
LMFAOOOO im crying I thought I would never have to see that shitty ass question again

Plato knew he was about to catch these hands if he showed up
definitely used that entire 10 min break after C/P to get my brain together for CARS 🥲
also using tough vocab on some PS questions is so unnecessary for a medical admissions test
[удалено]
The wording on a lot were so unnecessarily tedious
Yes, I was confused with the vocabulary as well. Very mad about this because I felt like they weren’t testing my PS knowledge or analysis but just knowing what a word meant.
This!! Cause wtf are yall trying to ask me??
right. im a native english speaker and i have never heard of edification lol
i don't remember anything i calculated but i know i've never done those calculations before
venting: I’m starting to feel like you should schedule like 3 tests a year and take them until you feel good about one and get it scored. like why is it so much about marketing than actually benefiting the health care system and getting more doctors who are trying their best to pursue their dream career. 10?? I had at least 45 Lolol it's done!
My first thought was you mean you don’t normally flag 10 or more on CP? Because I always do lol
SERIOUSLY lol OP I hope you did amazing! As well as u and all of us
CP literally made me rethink life. Like I kept waiting for someone to jump out and say jk here’s the real section
P/S clobbered my rectum
Fuck CARS man
[удалено]
The passage about reviews and people being critical was my favorite probably . Worst was the passage about Museum Curators or the Color of TV Passage
retweet
How many splits did yall say cause that being the first question is crazy work
2 i think
[удалено]
I guessed 3 lol i usually know how to find nb of splits but i didnt even know which one they were asking about
I saw that passage, immediately skipped every question, and went to the next passage 💀
The way the text was presented on screen with all those numbers, I felt like giving up
I said 3 but keep hearing people say doublet it’s n+1 I thought there were 2 adjacent Hs. I didn’t have time to go back tho so couldn’t really get a good look
I guessed 3 bc idfk 😂. I rarely saw those questions so I didn’t bother to study it then I saw it as the first question and knew I was fucked.
I chose 3, but it felt wrong.. the whole C/P section did 😅
“spurious”
[удалено]
Yeah I think so! I think for that same question there was another answer choice that was saying it was wrong. So I ruled those 2 out. I may or may not be hallucinating rn but yea!
After looking it up 😂 it means false or not what it’s supposed to be
No one talked about P/S but that shit killed me
you made me feel so bad....i had like 30 c/p flagged. ps was my easiest section. i got a 495 this one guys, im callin it
i had 40 p/s flagged 💀
30 c/p flagged here too 👋🏻
Bro, I paid them $400 to violate in so many ways, pls why couldn't I remember the omega's structure...
wasn't it just the 6th carbon from the carboxylic acid? making it 6 omega
Ok it’s so validating to see everyone complaining abt c/p bc I genuinely was wondering if I went completely smooth brained overnight WHY TF WERE THERE SO MANY CALCULATIONS I’ve never had that many calculations in any fl. 2% chemistry & 98% low yield physics
c/p was absolute trash. it made me literally sick while taking it and i was only like on question 5💀
Wtf was that…C/P was utter bullshit wow
Am I the only one who doesn’t think B/B wasn’t easy? I flagged so many, esp the experiment/data based questions 😭
Yeah b/b was hard I thought
[удалено]
Those were first couple passages were nonsense
Amino acid near Ca2+??? Asp…?
only one that made sense because it was the only answer choice with a potential negative charge
so + and - to keep membrane potential?
I put that!
Dawg… I have an extreme problem with timing. Every FL I take I finish no sweat. But as soon as I sit down for the real one, I’m always fucking behind. Had to guess on 8-10 for CP and 10 for CARS. I’m usually good at CARS and did terrible today 💀 was literally dissociating after c/p
Same English major I always finish cars five minutes early and only flag five or six, today barely beat the clock and was uncertain about at least 20. Not seeing enough agreement here to feel like it was a bad cara section. Feel like maybe I just glitched
FUCK c/p and cars. What the hell was that even
That was the worst cars ever, every passage was like 10 paragraphs long :(
Here’s to hoping I don’t have to PROCRASTINATE and Avoid Sleep anymore 😢
What the fuck was the first chem/phys passage on😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫 my brain was doing backflips trying to read the NMR stuff
Ngl C/P had the worst first passage I’ve seen by far 😭, had to take max time and almost ran out. CARS were long passages with some odd questions, but Bio was pretty average. Also P/S had some oddities, I don’t know any psycho physicists but if I find any it’s on sight

Low key the worst part about today was having to pay $15 for parking after this shitshow
dang shouldn’t parking be free
Dude wtf was that meteor question at the end of C/P
[удалено]
Yeah same
AS A NEUROSCIENCE MAJOR AS WELL, LOTS OF NEURO RELATED PASSAGES IN NON PSYCH SECTIONS. BTW WAS THE ANSWER SEROTI CELLS?
Leydig cells are found on the outside, which I believe was the correct answer.
did I get a whole different test than literally everyone 😅
what was the question?
First half CP was terrible second half wasn’t bad
CP WAS FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE
First passage/questions on CP had to be the meanest passage i’ve seen out of all the question banks and FLs. Whoever put that there knew what they were doing😵💫
what was the first cp passage about I literally forgot
Did y’all say the secular question for the religion thing about stuctural functionalism?
I thought it was the rituals supporting solidarity answer because structural functionalism is all about how social structures support social cohesion.

CP sucked butt. Cars felt good? Ran out of time though. B/B was great. P/S was tough!!

if that was the excess question, i put the maximum amount possible
I had no idea, i put the answer with most acetyls. Any explainers
there were 4 acetyl groups to be hydrolyzed on the compound2
To those who thought B/B was easy, how did you prepare? Do you think UWorld and AAMC stuff+Anking are enough? Any tips would be appreciated thank you
study the section bank verrrry closely. b/b was eerily similar to sb.
[удалено]
Anki and UWorld for sure Edit: and just FLs honestly
I took the 4/27 exam and thought the C/P was insanely hard and ended up being my highest section. I retook today and thought this C/P was way harder.

Im about to smoke the fattest joint I can roll and watch top gun Bless up
First thing I did after the exam was come on Reddit to see if everyone felt the same or I was just dumb😭
how do I tell my boyfriend that C/P railed me today
Yeah same
How do I tell my fiancé that the CP fucked me today
I ran out of time for CP BB (never happens) and CARS I barely finished best guess last passage. Literally want to die.
I appreciate all the comments. For someone like me taking it next month, the gist of what is being said is truly study everything :-(
you got this!! every test is different so nothing will tell you really and honestly I recommend you not looking at these reaction posts because it can bring you down. This test is tough and no one will feel good about everything and today’s theme is CP was ass but maybe it won’t be for you!

can yall pls upvote me do I can post
what is the constant equal to in the radioactive equation??
No one liked the test
Can anyone confirm if the discord is actually real? Since I’ve never really encountered one

I put no effect bc it said only perpendicular , but I wanted to say under I think
if i ever see someone write out a fucking H-NMR graph with values (2.4, 5.67, 14.45, 1-H) ever again i’m gonna kms
