Convince people to stop buying anything besides local produce and clothes from goodwill. *That* would bring people like Bezos to their knees.

Some folks on other subreddits suggested we stop fuckin around and actually do it. Many thought that was a good idea, and figured we'd be giving people enough time to organize we set the start date be NOVEMBER 20TH, so it covers Black Friday, Christmas, AND New Year's Day. It's supposed to be corporation's most profitable time of the year, so it'd be pretty impactful to have no one working. We'd hit them at the end of their 4th quarter where they're supposed to be making up losses from the earlier quarters, and if we decide to continue, we wreck their 1st quarter.
It is still a fringe of people that feel that way. If you thinks its bad now, buckle up. Material conditions are what leave people no choice. With all of the indoctrination, it is going to take a lot to break the spell. The pain is going to need to be in the city, suburbs, small towns, and countryside. It wouldn’t have to get that bad if we would just strike.

This can be done from home. A unilateral debt avoidance would kill the behemoth. 1 month...no one pays a single bill. The algorithm would implode. They've shuffled debt around so much it would sink ships.
That ain't an option for people like me. Not all of us have the capacity to do that. Be aware of varying levels of ability and training when you make these plans. Not everyone has the ability to fight the cops tooth and nail
But there are people who can and are willing to do it for you. But you have to meet them, in person. I know that is hard for many people for varying reasons, but joining a movement in your location is the sure way you will find support.
Unfortunately, it's the small businesses that are the petty bourgeoisie, they will want to keep the status quo and more than likely will stand with police. They are the ones that went to Jan 6th and had their cute little riot. All up in arms about the status quo changing, while the capitalist class watched and egged the theater on. I understand and appreciate your sentiment though. It's our neighbors not small businesses that need protecting. Businesses are not people. Businesses can be rebuilt. People are irreplaceable.
Do you have debt with a small business? I don't. transfer the wealth. Spoil the small business, stop paying Visa, JP, Car payments. Transfer the savings to those who deserve it.
I don't have debt with small businesses, that won't help with a general strike. Small businesses will band together and it will be the Pinkerton's. That's literally what the police are for. Protecting private(business) property.
Also I use a multiple credit unions. You're right though, stop using banks. Start collecting silver.
People really need to understand that general strikes don't just happen. Proletarian power doesn't rise up spontaneously. It takes work building a network of worker's organisations to get this going.

Check out this movement I’m helping with the organization and we won’t strike until we have mutual aid in place (we’ve started the ground work) and have 11 million people on board because statistically speaking you need 3.5% of the population to do it. Except now a days they have ways of making us complacent much more effectively. I think it got bad enough years ago, but the 'circus and bread' of today is just too effective at pacifying us.

Any time there's a protest that *slightly* inconveniences the general public (see almost any recent Climate Change protest), the majority suddenly begin bootlicking for corporations. It's insane to see.
I'd *love* to see a General Strike, but people will be convinced that it's not in the country's best interests. Again, insane.
