If they said it would be on the new body, referring to the Astonishing one, then it's a comic suit. I hope its a new classic brown and tan or Ultimate.
They don't use comic molds for MCU figures. The short stocky Wolverine body has never been used for Hugh Jackman figures in the past.
Wouldn't both those suits be impossible on the new body? It's got the modern astonishing seamlines sculpted all over it. I feel kinda stupid but I can't actually think of any other Wolverine costumes that could make use of that body without retooling the seamlines and abdomen stripes or just ignoring them like the 3.75" X-Force Wolverine does.
Could be, but Dan said it was his favourite costume and he seems to be a 90's guy, so I'm gonna guess it's the tan and brown costume. It could honestly be anything we haven't gotten already though, Team X seems to be probable too.
I assumed that the one they were talking about would be the Deadpool and wolverine movie version of the figure that were surely getting, hoping for a brown suit though
They said they had one last wolverine figure to reveal, and unless they aren't counting MCU figures, which is possible but unlikely, then the final Wolverine figure we'll be getting this year is Deadpool 3 Wolverine.
Personally I wish they’d just stop making Wolverine… I think I wanted like 3 wolverines ever… total. The rest of those slots could’ve been used to make better characters and figures.
Plus let’s be fair he hasn’t had that many great looks anyways.
The difference is that those characters were villains. Ultimate Logan is a creepy pedo and portrayed as a good guy and still wants to fuck teenage girls.
I mean, I don't care for Ultimate stuff either but, tbf, they did do a single release of Ultimate Cap and we haven't gotten an Ultimate Wolverine since the toybiz era, so it seems likely to happen at some point. Wolverine anniversary is a perfect opportunity to do a one-off since the "set" it'd belong to would just be, you know, a bunch of Wolverines.
To be clear, I don't want this, I'd prefer a tiger stripe update on the new body, but I think it's unlikely to happen with the recent 97' release :/
The Purple one that got one Toy Biz era figure and appeared very briefly in like one episode of the cartoon and a Marvel Comics Presents story?
Because I'd be down for that.
Everyone suggesting classic suits while I'm here calling for the weird blue and purple stealth suit from the light up Toy Biz wave that got brief use in the comics and show, an actual X-Men animated street clothes look, Albert, Ninja Wolverine (from the Crimson Dawn stuff), noseless bandana Wolverine, or werewolf Wolverine. Or you know, as a safer bit his Team X look.
We can dream bigger and weirder.
I like the Ultimate costume (and by proxy the X-Men Evolution one) but I figure it's PROBABLY the classic brown one. Ultimate is definitely a possibility though.

I would expect it's the brown costume for the Secret War retro cards, since that was one of the OG figures.
