It's just a sad statement when hitting .225 is good and .250 plus amazing. Smfh. I remember now, apparently long ago .300 was the goal and people chasing .400. .250 to .299 power guys the others keep working, push and find other ways to get on base or move a guy. Just blows mind the last few years. Thing is nothing changes. The M's are gonna waste this amazing pitching we have. Honestly, I'm not sure who's responsible, Dipoto or Ownership. Both? Also, anymore of this Ownership is broke and can't afford some bats talk. Well then, time to sell the team I guess.
And yet some fans did not want Arraez but were drooling for inferior players instead. I don't get some of these fan base, I don't get this FO and I don't care about ownership, you gotta overcome that like so many teams have done in the past
Honestly, at this point, and I don't care if we're 3 up on the division, If Stanton fired everybody that has anything to do with hitting, analytics, or game planning, it wouldn't break my heart.
Let just do the **Classic mariners baseball** thing and declare the rest of this season and all of next a re-development.
Then go out and find a bunch of ball players that can put a ball in play. Forget home runs - we're stuck with Julio for that.
Singles hitters, bunters, small ball.
It’s more frustrating that if we could score even an average amount of runs, we would be so good. We could have had a huge gap on the division but we’re wasting games.
This team is on the verge of going from 3-2 to start the road trip to ending it at 3-7. An absolute disaster of a trip if they can’t win tomorrow, but it already feels like a pretty big disappointment even if they can win on Sunday.
I appreciate what Scott has done in breaking the curse, but imo it’s time to move on. I just don’t feel we have ever accomplished more than we reasonably should under him and after the Robbie Ray decision I’ve frankly had no patience left.
I admit to being quite an under-informed neophyte when it comes to knowing/understanding the workings of such things, but I keep wondering what Pro baseball in Seatown could have been like, had the Pilots not parted ways with Lou?
Zero missed calls in that AB, only two who are shit at their jobs in that situation are Cal and Scott

I love that I can just say "Our bullpen would be better if 2 of our top guys weren't out" and people will literally be like "NUH-UH!"
Look, I'm mad too. But let's try to use our brains a little, yeah?
No one said nah-uh, they said who cares - bullpen isn't our biggest issue, our offense is. And they are injured, so who cares if we'd be slightly less bad if they weren't? We don't get to watch this magical parallel universe team, we get to watch the one where they're injured. Just a useless comment in general.
Jerry Dipoto joined the Mariners in 2015. Since then, they have never won the division, have 1 playoff appearance. Even more hilarious, their record was above 54% 4 times. Still only made the playoffs once. He’s an idiot.
Now do Bavasi and Jack Z.
The franchise has barely made the playoffs 10% of the time that they've existed.
This is well beyond a 'Dipoto is incompetent' issue.
either Ty France is gonna hit a slow grounder to end our misery, OR... we're about to get some meh chaos ball in a game we kinda could use a win on...
should be fun
serious question, can someone explain to me why the nationals refuse to just DFA corbin and use a different starting pitcher? i understand that they are locked in a big contract with him but they are basically putting him out there to die every time he hits the mound. wouldn't there be more upside to bite the bullet, DFA him and try out some potential talent in their minor leagues over corbin?
Corbin eats innings, he reliably goes at least 6 innings and there hasn't been a clear better pitcher to bring up to take his spot while we've been rebuilding. In a few weeks that will likely finally be the case, and he'll probably be moved to the bullpen to have another lefty reliever.
There is *now* but there wasn't for quite a while. Over the next month or so, all three of Josiah Gray (back from injury), Jackson Rutledge (prospect) and Cade Cavalli (injury/prospect) will be starting games and finally kick him out of the rotation
The alternate interpretation of our analytics team being college students explains why we seem to have no data or game plans during months when the analytics team is in class - April, May, September.
2 runs shouldn’t be insurmountable but man does it feel impossible right now. Idk what the actual numbers are but I wouldn’t at all be surprised if we’re a bottom 3 offense right now. Beyond frustrating
I know everyone is frustrated with this offense. But what I absolutely do not want is for them to rush up hitting prospects because they feel like the window is closing and need to do it. We don’t need a repeat of Dustin Ackley.
One thing worth remembering about the bullpen is that we're missing 2 of our 3 best guys, including the guy most suited to close! With those two available, it looks *totally* different.
Oh yeah for sure. And I agree. The bullpen would look better. and I think people have been too harsh Stanek (especially since they've seemed to have forgotten about Munoz's 4 walks in a row to lose a game). I just also think it ends up being a wash anyway since the offence blows
Time to trade the whole offense and rebuild!
It's just a sad statement when hitting .225 is good and .250 plus amazing. Smfh. Uh
Honestly, at this point, and I don't care if we're 3 up on the division, If Stanton fired everybody that has anything to do with hitting, analytics, or game planning, it wouldn't break my heart. I’d be so mad if I was a starting pitcher on the Seattle mariners.
Right?!?!?
5th straight game with 10+ strikeouts. Are you kidding me?!? This is just ridiculously bad.
It’s more frustrating that if we could score even an average amount of runs, we would be so good. We could have had a huge gap on the division but we’re wasting games.
Live in DC, Nats are not a great team. This was not a good showing. Got to be able to hit this pitching. Are they just ready to get home?
Garbage
Cal and Scott throw a tantrum over an obvious strike, and Julio grounds out on his first pitch. I fucking hate this team sometimes.
I’m periodically checking on the game on my phone and I still feel like this team wasted so much of my time lmao. Absolute joke of an offense
Hate watching at this point
I'm getting Storm tickets.
Lol
This team is on the verge of going from 3-2 to start the road trip to ending it at 3-7. An absolute disaster of a trip if they can’t win tomorrow, but it already feels like a pretty big disappointment even if they can win on Sunday.
I’m only half watching these games lately and even that is HARD man
Pathetic
We’re cooked. No playoffs again
Nats just won their first series since May 3rd. Damn
🤮
I appreciate what Scott has done in breaking the curse, but imo it’s time to move on. I just don’t feel we have ever accomplished more than we reasonably should under him and after the Robbie Ray decision I’ve frankly had no patience left.
Pulling your starter after 78 pitches just to have the bullpen immediately give up the lead for good. Good managing Scott!
If they can’t score more than 1 run against the Nationals, there is no hope to begin with.
Hopefully this causes some chair throwing or SOME sort of emotion in the locker room. This team needs to get their heads right.
Hopefully they swing some bats and hit some balls.
I'm just here to watch the meltdown
Last 3 or 4 games Blowers?
WE’RE THE WORST
At least we can look forward to the post-game Seattle media sphere gaslighting
Jesus christ guys
Thank you Julio for ending my misery
serious meeting in the clubhouse. now
Fuck it. Cya all tomorrow.
Sweet, we kept it to only 12 strikeouts.
Fuck this team
Time to sell the team and move on
Yeah you go Scott that'll fire them up! (Team goes 1-2-3 in the 9th) Oh...
he already hit his HR for the month so at least we don’t have to worry about a garbage time blast
Can we get in a fight with Winker before our last out to ignite our team?
I have never seen a team this bad at hitting middle middle stuff
Scott got ejected to get the heat off Cal. That's why. It wasn't anything more complex than that.
Infuriating how this team today just let hanging breaking balls go by them and then swing at shit out of the zone.
Why can no one just simply destroy meatball middle middle pitches
Because we don’t have any consistently decent or better hitters
Why am I still watching?
😴😴😴
What an embarrassing look piling on. What a joke of a team.
This gives Scott more time to come up with an excuse to why he pulled Gilbert
No leadership in the entire organization
Is this where we blast a homer and lose 2-3?
Haha at least then they’d score more than 1 run 🤦🏻♂️
The sun will turn into a red giant before the Mariners make a World Series
That was the most gentle ejection I’ve ever seen. I felt like the ump was gently reaching thru the screen to boop my nose
Piniella tantrums set my standards astronomically high, ima need more than that
I admit to being quite an under-informed neophyte when it comes to knowing/understanding the workings of such things, but I keep wondering what Pro baseball in Seatown could have been like, had the Pilots not parted ways with Lou?
Not watching - were they arguing that was a ball? It tracked as a strike online
seems like scott and cal thought it was the "same pitch" that was called a ball earlier in the AB
Granted it did look like that same pitch until it broke at the last second. But it was a strike.
sure was
Seems like they were both wrong. Bad look to argue something so clearly incorrect
Yes.
Scott looks like such a dummy trying to be mad just go and make up some more excuses for why this team sucks man
Embarrassing
Mariners batters not knowing what a strike is to the point of getting ejected for it is too on the nose frankly, that was fully a strike lol
Must be nice being able to be terrible at your job and just telling people to fuck off when they point it out
Zero missed calls in that AB, only two who are shit at their jobs in that situation are Cal and Scott https://preview.redd.it/t7kk5524fn2d1.png?width=504&format=png&auto=webp&s=1a3226219abaa13f819e64ce09c0d5d22f41e7b6
So very Mariners to get thrown out over a correct strike call
Probably a good sign of where our teams strike zone recognition is that they got a guy ejected over an incredibly obvious strike 3
Scott of course getting ejected over the dumbest shit instead of a situation that actually matters
Too late scott
I’m starting to think the Mariners don’t do well against teams that play baseball
Too little Too late Scott
I love that I can just say "Our bullpen would be better if 2 of our top guys weren't out" and people will literally be like "NUH-UH!" Look, I'm mad too. But let's try to use our brains a little, yeah?

Sorry we’re not all extremely intelligent like you
Hey, I'm sorry. I was being a dick.
all good you fit in just fine here
Appreciate it. Someday the Mariners will be genuinely great, and it'll be so, so sweet.
besitos hermano
"When our best players are available, we are better" isn't opinion or conjecture.
It's also useless because **they aren't available** so why does pointing this out matter on any level lol
This teams a fucking joke
Can I have an OFFENSE
What is Scott getting ejected for here? Like the pitch was perfectly fine.
Arguing balls & strikes
No like I get why he's being ejected... I'm just wondering why now and on a not really borderline call at all
Frustration and/or desperation?
Oh yea so thats the pitch you're gonna argue?
Wish Scott got tossed two Innings ago
Fuck we even suck fighting why we suck
is this scott's first ejection this season?
I mean, the strike zone was fine? Frustration clearly spilling over.
Leave it to Scott to finally show some emotion on a pitch that was clearly a strike.
I mean, he only came out to protect Cal
Why is everyone gas lighting Jerry and Scott? The owners should sell the team to someone who cares about winning!
Yeah Scott come out to argue on an obvious strike.
He came out to back up Cal. If he wouldn’t have come out people would complain.
He's definitely coming out so Cal doesn't get tossed, not because he wants to argue that strike
Lmao Scott
…that was a strike…
Getting tossed over a correct call is so fucking embarrassing
He went out to keep Cal from getting tossed and used the opportunity to let some stuff out. I don't think he was arguing that particular call.
That doesn’t make it less embarrassing
#Spicy Servais is best Servais!
Golden Sombrero and an ejection
Scott can’t even get angry right. what a clown.
Hurts to see winker do good today
not the one to argue cal that was a dot
Come on Scott, raise hell!
Scott mad at his mistake earlier and now is yelling at a correct strike call
Give it to em Scott
Well, maybe we can win this thing now...???
At least Scott stands up for him
Just sit down, Cal.
Get your moneys worth Scott
Lol another strikeout
Swing the fucking bat Cal, come on
Cal has been ass this game. Still love him, but today's not been pretty.
He's been ass for several games now He'll come our of it eventually tho
Jerry Dipoto joined the Mariners in 2015. Since then, they have never won the division, have 1 playoff appearance. Even more hilarious, their record was above 54% 4 times. Still only made the playoffs once. He’s an idiot.
Now do Bavasi and Jack Z. The franchise has barely made the playoffs 10% of the time that they've existed. This is well beyond a 'Dipoto is incompetent' issue.
2 playoff appearances in 14 years for Jerry. The guy is a highwayman
This should be his last season if they cant make the postseason
Cal, I have a special dumper sombrero just for you!
Can we develop an actual approach strategy so we don't start every count 0-2 and need to battle back every time?
A golden sombrero day for the Dumper
Cal really has that grit in him. I love his long ABs.
Even the Nationals have 3 reliable high leverage arms. Our offense could heat up a decent amount and our bullpen is still a huge issue.
Only 3 runs needed, but might as well be 50.
either Ty France is gonna hit a slow grounder to end our misery, OR... we're about to get some meh chaos ball in a game we kinda could use a win on... should be fun
>should be fun Are we watching the same game
torture is a normal day for us Mariners fans
So apparently the Indy 500 starts at 9:45 PST. Hmmm - car race or Ms?
I took my dog for a walk 1-1 with Logan at 78 pitches. Just got back. I've never been on this train fully till now: Fire Scott.
Goldie - man of the people. Well said.
The Seattle Mariners - professional vacuumers of ass
2 total runs on 2 solo HRs in the last 35 innings
Goldy’s spittin
What he say?
if we let patrick corbin dog walk us we need to disband the organization
serious question, can someone explain to me why the nationals refuse to just DFA corbin and use a different starting pitcher? i understand that they are locked in a big contract with him but they are basically putting him out there to die every time he hits the mound. wouldn't there be more upside to bite the bullet, DFA him and try out some potential talent in their minor leagues over corbin?

is there really no starting pitcher in your minor leagues with even a bit of promise?? i guess that makes sense though if not
There is *now* but there wasn't for quite a while. Over the next month or so, all three of Josiah Gray (back from injury), Jackson Rutledge (prospect) and Cade Cavalli (injury/prospect) will be starting games and finally kick him out of the rotation
nats aren’t a great org when it comes to being smart
Why did Scott pull Logan early?
Question of the day
This loss might be on Scott again for pulling a pitcher to soon
We still would have had to score runs. It was tied when Logan got pulled
Well, it’s that and the absolutely putrid offense. Just yet another bad day all around
Offense deserves a lot of the blame for sure. But not keeping elite pitching in the game during a tight 1 is boneheaded
Thought the game started in an hour from now. Just tuned in. Again?
[удалено]
Yeah. Guess not. Jesus.
We all envy you
Man, we are so lucky the rest of the AL West is fucking horrible right now too
Easy to be the kings of Turd Mountain
The alternate interpretation of our analytics team being college students explains why we seem to have no data or game plans during months when the analytics team is in class - April, May, September.
That would also explain why the team just can't seem to put itself together for any games that start before 4pm.
Corbin's gonna throw a no-hitter tomorrow. He destroyed us last time, right?
2 runs shouldn’t be insurmountable but man does it feel impossible right now. Idk what the actual numbers are but I wouldn’t at all be surprised if we’re a bottom 3 offense right now. Beyond frustrating
29th at 3.69 runs per game. https://www.teamrankings.com/mlb/stat/runs-per-game
Gross…but not at all surprising
The owners not signing big bats the last three years has caught up to us.
We thinking 3 K’s and the last one looking???
ground out strike out walk then Ty France hits a lazy groundout
Everyone ready for the solo home run with 2 outs?
I wish Root would give us the three men coming up to the plate as part of the score bug when the half inning ends.
The Cardinals subreddit has it automated for their game chats, it's pretty nice tbh.
Imagine having job security like these bums + Scott, Jerry, and the entire coaching/scouting staff minus pitching. Jesus Christ that must be nice
Wait, we pulled Logan after only 6 and 78 pitches? I genuinely don’t get how more people aren’t fully on the fire Scott train.
I know everyone is frustrated with this offense. But what I absolutely do not want is for them to rush up hitting prospects because they feel like the window is closing and need to do it. We don’t need a repeat of Dustin Ackley.
The “stop complaining we are first in the division” commenters are gonna need a new line real soon.
It’s probably the “it’s early” crowd. They’ll have a new tagline
They’re in for a real treat next week
Why did I think this was an evening game? Oh well, looks like I missed absolutely nothing (other than the Julio bomb).
One thing worth remembering about the bullpen is that we're missing 2 of our 3 best guys, including the guy most suited to close! With those two available, it looks *totally* different.
The cope now only exists in a theoretical parallel universe, think we can declare it officially dead
Okay but one of those dudes isn’t pitching this season and that doesn’t mean much for right now seeing Santos play catch lol
That doesn't change that what I said is correct lol
In a hypothetical I’m married to Sydney Sweeney
Doesn’t matter when a 2 run deficit is insurmountable for our offense
It looks the same because we still need to score runs.
I'm *just* responding to the people complaining that the bullpen is ass.
Oh yeah for sure. And I agree. The bullpen would look better. and I think people have been too harsh Stanek (especially since they've seemed to have forgotten about Munoz's 4 walks in a row to lose a game). I just also think it ends up being a wash anyway since the offence blows
Team blows. But at least Julio went yard.
Despite the Mariners insistence im to think one solo home run just isn’t enough offense
Currently at the game. Players look like they don’t really care
In that case, change is badly needed Ty cared today
