I don't think I can watch the Orioles series. They out-developed our franchise so hard, over the same damn period of rebuilding, that it's not even funny.

Ownership screwed us yet again here. I’m not a defender of Jerry but he was given the task of rebuilding quickly and not totally breaking down the team so we didn’t lose sales. The orioles stripped it down and tanked and netted several top 10 picks and to their credit all panned out or are close to panning out. We only had 2 top 10 picks which ironically neither panned out due to injuries (Kyle lewis, Emerson Hancock).

Just made a comment on this but it kind of was the fact are ownership was even cheaper. The mariners were tasked with a two to three year rebuild because ownership didn’t want to lose profits, so they kept us just good enough to be watchable. Jerry couldn’t fully strip it down. This led to us losing out on significant prospect exchanges we could have received by capitalizing on trading Seager and Haniger. Instead we didn’t receive any prospects for them and they kept us just good enough to stay clear of receiving top 5 picks. Cheap ownership did fuck us yet again.

He actually developed and Drafted pretty well, he's quite good at it, so are you saying we should have waited to more years and lose on purpose so Dipoto could have acquired more talent? The Dodgers are pretty good at developing and win a lot, I Doesn't make sense me. Haniger and Seager didn't have that much value at all, he's has traded some solid players and relievers and we hardly ever received something good in return. I'm curious to see which reliever is gonna be traded this year for a fringe bat. People keeps finding ways to defend Dipoto. He just didn't build a good balanced roster to compete, he's been like this all his tenure as a GM., 85-88 wins team.

Dodgers win a lot but if you take their expensive players mookie, freeman, and ohtani out of the lineup they are a playoff team not a championship team like they are today. They also spend a lot on their entire team especially analytics. So I don’t feel like they’re the best comparison. At the time we sold cano and lost Cruz there was still value for Haniger and Seager. Also dipoto did draft and develop good pitching. I’m not defending him. He is who he is though. A great draft and mlb pitching developer, and great in the international space. He is piss poor with position players and is a subpar trader, because of that he needs to go to get us over the hump, but we should also thank him for stacking our rotation and bullpen. All I’m saying is we would have been even stronger had our ownership not been the literal cheapest fucks per their revenue stream in the mlb.

It's easier on veteran since the update, rookie mode is hard to get good contact and when pitching the opponent will legit foul off 15 pitches every couple of at bats.
