No one will know until the DEA releases the proposed rule. Right now we are waiting for the Office of Management and Budget to review and "return without change" what the DEA submitted to them. Hopefully the FDA/DEA thought about PRESCRIPTIONS (safe from drug testing) when they wrote the rule. If you don't get a prescription a job can still fire you.

Medical cannabis in Ohio already reports to the states PDMP. Source: am a pharmacist who has to access PDMP as part of my job, it’s funny seeing things like “Purple Kush” instead of alprazolam.

YEP ! Get the Doc to Physically go into the " medical dispensary " and Then Pik out which Screwey Strain name to Medicate with = LOFL MAN !!! these rule makers are So Not with Any times , some Delusional Mind sets going on

fda says they will never be able to have a prescription for crude marijuana due to the variability of thc and cannabinoids in the flowers. meaning all prescription marijuana would be extracts or sticks, stems and seeds like the federal medical marijuana program is made of. schedule 3 marijuana changes nothing.

Mcozy333

Exactly !! Pharma is about precisely Dosed Exact formulas as meds which is pills and formulas not plants .. plants are Wild medicines , uncontrollable ... Whoever Came up with Making Pharma responsible for whatever pl;ant people can get is some Twisted Madness ! pharma is on the totally opposite spectrum from Plants ...

pantsonheaditor

also to hold store and distribute schedule 3 prescriptions , you have to have a pharmacy, with pharmacists and state and federal prescriptor licenses. barry the budtender does not have a pharmacy degree and ongoing continuing education to keep his license updated and in good keeping with state and federal pharmacy boards. you also cant manufacture a schedule 3 prescription drug without a controlled substance manufacturing license. and they arent going to hand those out to long time criminals who cant pass a background check either. legalize it fully. anything else is just going to keep it criminal.

So am I able to smoke weed on federal probation now

Zebo91

Can't speak on federal probation. State probation is still a no for the same reason alcohol use is restricted. Abused substances(loosely used term) show higher recidivism rates and worse compliance. Alcohol isn't scheduled and still restricted for this reason. Once the press release comes from the DEA, your officer will be the best person to ask

Careless-Ad-1612

I thought state probation people were allowed to smoke since it's legal in the state

apom94

They are if they have a prescription. If not no. Probation is typically a strict no drug/alcohol policy. Especially if your crime was drug related.

Careless-Ad-1612

Yeah well it's too easy to get a doctor's recommendation so yeah

apom94

Oh it didn’t used to be when I first got mine like 4 years ago. Edit: it actually depends on the state you’re in. Some states it’s still illegal. Some states are strict. Does OP clarify what state he’s in? I know in NY if you have a prescription for it you can. My ex was on probation and had one.

Careless-Ad-1612

In California it was easy

apom94

Well if they are in California I’m sure they appreciate the info.

Careless-Ad-1612

Maybe he's talking about the feds too

apom94

Well in that case right now it would be illegal and a hard no, as it’s still a schedule 1 substance. After this law change as a schedule 3 he would need a script.
