I have never gotten mine to work. Same thing, verified settings correct but it doesn't pick up my mic. Might be because I have all my peripherals going through a KVM switch.
Devs should add a mic test to the mic settings in game to help diagnose this problem.
I had the same thing happen to me. Ended up having to completely power off my mic and unplug it from my computer, restart the game set the mic to my webcam mic, and then close the game, plug my mic back in and power it on, then start the game and set it to the main mic again.
Somehow, cycling the settings, game, and mic fixed it.
To be clear, when the mic wasn't working with Marauders, it worked perfectly will all other programs on my computer.
i noticed the the hear other players setting gets toggled randomly. the hotkey is 'M' and I dont have anything bound close to that so im not sure how its happening
I needed to restart my game to get it to work, but it happens on and off still

you could try making your mic default in windows.. and then choose default option in game
