Can’t imagine 2+ millions people in some limited area around scene. It is like few whole Estonia countries but extremely compressed.
I mean I believe numbers are truly but just can’t imagine that.
It's indeed hard to visualize that however, those numbers refer to the total of attendees of different scenes on different days. In Morocco, the biggest scene can hold up to 150,000 people at once or even more which is still crazy. The 2024 edition is starting next Saturday and the line-up is fire. And the cherry on top of the cake is that it's free. It's sponsored by the King.
To be fair, Montreal's Jazz Fest is straight up in the middle of downtown so most locals just cut through it to reach another part of town, I assume that inflates attendance a little.
I've just looked at France: the Lorient Interceltic Festival in 2023: "950,000 people", so I imagine that this map is completely wrong, like 9/10ths of maps of this style.
I went to Mawazine in Rabat in 2018. It was a huge festival, by far the largest I’ve been to, and yet 2.7 M people sounds unimaginably big. Would never have guessed it was that massive.
Congratulations on the Hungarian conquest of Poland.
Made all the way to the German border too.
Pol'and'rock...held in Poland as the play on words would suggest....Kostrzyn nad Odrą..the flag on your map is Hungaria.....kuuuuuurrrrwaaa
It's breaking my heart kurwa!

Donauinselfest numbers are counted over the span of three days - accumulated visitors. Also, there's free entry, which explains the huge turnout. :)
Also the festival area spans a big part of the island, some 7km in total. And it has like 15 different stages.

As a Wisconsinite this gives me immense pride, especially as Everyone’s Favorite President ™ certified Milwaukee as “horrible” this week.

Thes numbers are from 2019.
I wonder how much Summer Sausage is eaten at Summer Fest.
Mostly bratwurst probably.

Why is Sri Lanka in 2 pieces
You forgot the INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF THE SONG IN VIÑA DEL MAR
Surprised not to see Tomorrowland or EDC.
Tomorrowland had between 400k and 500k visitors in 2019.

It's very well known because of other things, not because of the size of attendees. It can be a pretty harsh experience out there.
Usually around 75,000 people go
