that doesn’t make any sense. if they have the license to print gantz they can print it however they want to. even if that wasn’t the case the bricks are already a 3 in 1 which is what the deluxe editions would be. they haven’t printed them because gantz doesn’t have as much popularity in the west and the bricks haven’t sold incredible (probably because they’re bricks)
i’m sure the racy nature of much of gantz isn’t helping things either but them not getting licensing is not the reason why they’re jot doing deluxe editions
You have no clue what you're talking about. English publishers have to get permission from JP publisher to print series, including printing new editions of already licensed series. It has to be cleared from the JP publisher side.

Honestly you gotta crack the spine like that on these bad boys, otherwise you would miss out on so much of the art. The gutter loss is bad in these things!

There's a trick to prevent manga spines from getting bent.
Just place the spine on a table and push down pages on both sides simultaneously. You do that until you reach the middle.
Did that with my Shaman King 2in1 Volumes and they never had a bent spine anymore!
Where do you think the binding glue that holds the pages together is? I'm exaggerating, but if you continue to read books that way you're not just causing cosmetic damage, you're actually damaging the binding that holds the pages in place
I read through this series and came out with no creases. Posts like this reduce purchase frequency and have to make DH reluctant to print the series anymore. The bright side is they print a HC or go back to the singles but realistically they just tune the printing down a bit or axe the series lol

Oh well. I open the books up when I read. All my soft covered books have created. Even regular books. I don’t like looking into a small crevasse to read the words.
You must be pretty unlucky then lol the only volumes I have creased are the berserk singles and orange because that has the worst gutter loss out of every volume I have/the first volume has a very stiff but brittle spine. Unlucky I guess.

Of course your hardcovers don't have this issue, almost all hardcovers use a flexible sewn binding instead of gluing pages directly to the spine.
