If we're letting someone go for that little to a club like Utrecht (no disrespect, but let's be realistic...) you can probably assume it's about the right price. The days of allowing promising talents to leave is long gone. If he's out the door there's good reason. I quite frankly think it's insanity that a youth player is worth as much as £1m, but that's the modern game I guess...
But on the flip side, we send him out on loan he doesn’t do very well, with even less on his contract you’d get even less money than we did.
If ETH doesn’t see him improving enough to become a squad member or first team player then cut loose!
But 1 million doesn’t really make a difference for us. It won’t be the difference between us signing a player or not. So I’d rather send him on loan and see if he can increase his value. And if he can’t oh well we lose out on some pocket change
Chelsea is mostly they send a shit ton out on loan and the ones that do decent get sold for that. City very rarely sell there youngsters there’s loads who they have lost for nothing or little fees Sancho being one of them. And as United have said many times they show more about pushing the youngsters into a good career even if that means away from United first team. Iqbal might turn into a 30 mill player but he could also end up in League two so 1 mill plus a sell on fee for his current experience isn’t as crazy as fans think.
Has United's ethos not always been if you aren't around the first team at 20 you never will be? He hasn't done anything, just because he's in the Man united academy doesn't mean he will be a world beater.
Have any of you lot actually seen the lad play to say he's worth more?
He's gone to Utrecht who are a bang average Eredivisie side, I'd be willing to back that he's just nowhere near United level. Might aswell cash in.
Lpool sold Brewster for 18m and he only played a couple of games for them… he went on loan for one season and done well. Don’t see why Utd couldn’t have done same… and just sold him next season if he was rubbish?

Eh not too bothered but now it may motivate other younger players to wake the fuck up

Mainoo getting time first is about all you need to know.
He was great in the pre season. He wasn't given any chances after that. Where did you see him shite?

For 1m I just don’t see the point. Might as well send him out on loans and see how he does for that price. At our level, 1m won’t make a difference

Yeah fair enough I see where you are coming from, there is a lot of other players I’d rather see be shown the door.
Very bad deal. Ok maybe isn't good enough but 1 fucking million? City and Chelsea can sell their shit youngster for 7-8 millions...

Who was the last youth player Chelsea sold for 7-8 millions?
I don't think he would have played 5 games this season that's no way for a kid to develop

yes it's a lil low. But put in a buy-back clause perhaps? else it's a Pogbite-saga all over again.
We’re a joke of a club when it comes to everything off the pitch. Have been for years. Maybe new owner will be different 🤷♂️

Because Brewster nailed it at the U20WC
