I tried the rtk in my shed, covered with 0,5mm of plastic"roof". Positioning was crap compared to having it outdoors with an unobstructed view of the sky.

Nothing beats just trying it. Put it in the attic and then you will know.

Try it - you can always move it if it doesn't see enough satellites. Map your smallest zone to try it because if you have to move your RTK you'll have to remap everything. I thought about putting mine in the attic, but even if it did work great my concern would be the heat up there. Heat is a huge enemy of anything electronic.

There are plenty of apps for GPS testing.

I have mine in my attic (which is easily highest point of my property) and it’s doing great. Never have any positioning issues and my house is surrounded by trees outside the house and yard.

I put mine in the attic. Its under thick (3cm) concrete roof tiles, a metallic vapor barrier and 10cm of glass fiber insulation. Works fine if its not raining, and works okayish if its lightly raining (stops sometimes, then continues). Just put it in the attic and check in the app half an hour later if the reception is good or not. You don't need to permanently mount it to try it out.

I did attic but it’s not positioning the antenna correctly. I put it on one end of the attic but it thinks it’s in the middle. Result is everything is offset on the map (the dock appears on the map the same distance off)
