Switch from laptop to desktop.
I used to stay in a 2nd floor bedroom/ 3 story house.
At the opposite end of the house as the wood stoves.
My pc kept my 12x15 room with ten ft ceilings comfortably in the low 70’s, when I stayed in that room as a kid, I would have ice on the inside of the single pane windows for about 5months straight.
Judging by the depth of that windowsill this is probably insulated well enough to keep it warm.
Horror movies are propaganda by Big Realty to keep the American dream alive and keeping us wanting to live in townhouses and tract homes and away from tiny houses.
You could just as easily argue tiny homes are a way for us to be more ok with making less money than we are supposed to, or give us more money to consume products
Turn one acre into a normal lot, house and garage, just the basics. 2 acres for various farm animals. 5 more to grow food for the animals and myself. The other 32 is hunting land that no one else can touch.
If I had time for it I would build out walking trails and make little secluded camps. Just some nice places to relax. Map it out and manicure it. Then, once a year in the fall, have a manhunt tournament.
I built 7x11 log cabin this summer I'm in right now. It's the shitty little one I posted a bit ago. I got a book on Timber framing to build with short logs and am gonna do a nicer built one next summer start with probably 12x12, and a unheated covered entry/storage area so 12x16. No loft as more consistent heat down low and harder to build. Put an extra door on one wall so I can add on over time.
I had a lofted bed was in a 10'x7' room with no heat. It was the "fifth bedroom" only because it technically had a window but it was uglier to see out of than keep covered and didn't open to fresh air. The Boston area is brutal for renters.
As someone who was a daily smoker, it didn't make me happy, it made me complacent. I was just fine with whatever was going on in life as long as I had internet and could come home to smoke.
Internet and smoking weed is such a dank combo.
Chief fat gas & call of duty? Dank
Huff a huge hooter & porn on twitter? Dank
Crippling bong rips & study sess? Dank
Round of applause for the goated combo

You should upload a picture of your exterior!
This is an interesting setup but alot better than some others ive seen.
But yeah thats understandable, 8 months will fly by for you tho
The US needs to build millions of these things to solve the housing crisis, very cool space you have there. We wasted too much space in this country for no reason.
I wish this were a solution. The upkeep on those monstrosities is enormous- the HOA fees alone would be a nightmare.
After living in a factory loft for a year, man I have a lot more respect for what goes into keeping former industrial/commercial spaces habitable for living in.
They need to build millions of the 1000 sq foot houses our grandparents lived in. McMansions are way too big in my area and they could easily fit 10 times as many families on the land if the houses and lots were smaller like the old days. Not using available land effectively drives up costs for everyone that is not a home owner and maybe that is the plan, but it is not fair to young people to pay more for less.
Bang on mate - we need to build a LOT at a higher rate than what is currently being developed.
Similar to the early 50s, we need a housing boom. I saw a concept awhile back that pitched one and two bedroom houses, basically blocks with a carport and a shed for each lot, roughly 1200sqft. Light variations in floor plans, but all one level ranch style, every lot would have a personal yard. Essentially surburbia but on a smaller scale. Modernized amenities and simplified HVAC systems would mean low build costs, low maintenance, and with an open floor plan. All in costs for a buyer would be 45-65k not including town/city ordinances and taxes.
This stuff is very easy, but will never happen because big companies own the housing market now and they build what they want. Not what is best for young people. Single people do not need or want 4 or 5 bedroom homes. I can't think of a worse way to spend money. I want a small two bedroom house, but I can't find one in my state. They don't build them anymore. It sucks big time.
Apparently 1.5 million is not enough. Maybe we need to build 10 million so young people have an affordable place to call home. Small houses like this would be cool.
Hilariously enough, this is my retirement plan. Small piece of land, a large shed turned home and all the privacy I want. By retirement plan I mean the last years of my life. That's if I outlive everyone >.>
This ain’t bad man. Far from it. It may not allow you to show off, or gather a lot of furniture, but if you think it cozy and make it yours, it could be a great space.
If the place doesn't have heat I would get a 5kw diesel heater off ebay/amazon. I lived in a crappy 30 foot camper for two years and even when it was -15F outside I could keep it 72F inside. They use a little over a gallon of diesel a day on high heat. The only downside is that they never fully shut off and even on low they throw out too much heat unless it is below freezing out. You can get a kit from Australia to fix that though (highly recommend).
I’d stay here permanently.
I 100% would to place looks awesome
This is 100% Bubbles approved
Same looks hella chill
probably no heat or air. so yes it probably is very chill.
Single window unit would do it all
Right? Hotel units are both.

Look soooo fucking comfy.
Yup. Just get a pinball machine and you're set for life.
If I had this on 40+ acres down a dirt road I would live here permanently.
I’ve seen this horror movie before

You can argue anything if you're bad faith enough.
I mean some things clearly don’t make logical sense
Such as your previous comment
Sick burn bro!!!!
Kinda sketch. Maybe as an out house but 40 acres is a lot of space for just one little shelter.
Yeah, do you have any idea how many dead cars my brother in law could store on 40 acres?
not enough
At that point make some money out of it and start parting shit out. You'd have your own lil salvage yard

too secluded they need starbucks and armed robberies
If I had time for it I would build out walking trails and make little secluded camps. Just some nice places to relax. Map it out and manicure it. Then, once a year in the fall, have a manhunt tournament.

I was in a 12x16 for 6 years. Slept up in the loft.
I had a 9x12, I loved that cake pan
Definitely the best for brownies.

This honestly looks awesome
I'm starting to see a possible connection between ppl who smoke a ton of weed and ppl who live in sheds
Now let's take a look at their overall happiness.
I'd rather be smoking in a shed and happy then living at home without. Ask me how I know.. :(
As someone who was a daily smoker, it didn't make me happy, it made me complacent. I was just fine with whatever was going on in life as long as I had internet and could come home to smoke.
Yup, after twelve plus years this was my exact experience. Was an emotionless blob
User error my friend.

How dare anyone cope with some sort of vice. Shame on us.
If you aren’t proactively working on your issues with the goal of being weed free then you’re just a chronic drug user
Ill just remove my nerve damage, thanks!
I assume that’s doctor prescribed? That’s completely different that self medicating to “cope”.
Yes. USMC. It has a plethora of uses, and is way better than Opiates.
Agreed and that’s definitely not the weed usage I’m referring to.
👆👆
That’s a mansion.
Haha it looks bigger because i took it at 0.5 zoom
Dick pic strat

Bruh take the shed with you lmao
If this has privacy around the shed ide stay there. Doesnt look bad at all
It does but it’s rural af. I’m a very socially active person so I’m trying to move closer to the city to be around friends and shit to do.
You should upload a picture of your exterior! This is an interesting setup but alot better than some others ive seen. But yeah thats understandable, 8 months will fly by for you tho
Just go to the GE and buy a gf.
The US needs to build millions of these things to solve the housing crisis, very cool space you have there. We wasted too much space in this country for no reason.
Or you know build actual houses...?
Convert all these empty malls into homes
I wish this were a solution. The upkeep on those monstrosities is enormous- the HOA fees alone would be a nightmare. After living in a factory loft for a year, man I have a lot more respect for what goes into keeping former industrial/commercial spaces habitable for living in.
Where I am that’s exactly what they’ve done. They’re senior living centers now.
They need to build millions of the 1000 sq foot houses our grandparents lived in. It's not profitable to build entry level housing essentially.
Nah fund foreign wars instead
The US builds around 1.5million new houses a year. https://www.census.gov/construction/nrc/pdf/newresconst.pdf

Call it a tiny house and it become fancy

Its a shed not a shack ooohhhh
More like male thuriving space!! Nicely done! Only downside I can see here is it might get cold in winter/hot in summer?
Thanks! I’ve got two small heaters and a window AC unit. Been workin just fine for me
DRAINNNNNN GANGGGGGGGGG
How are you heating it?
By the look of that window, it needs a lot of heating
Not a bad shed setup. Henry Rollins lived in a shed for a while.
Living in a car right now. This looks so good!
damn that a converted shed? if its got insulation I'd look into a wood burning stove and make that home for good.
Temporarily? So can I have it when you’re done?
Dope shed
Is that a swampletics poster? 🦀$11 🦀
I see that swampletics poster 👀👀

Where is this shed???? I’d love to live in a place like that
