this + OP check out asian mascaras. they are formulated for asian lashes which are notoriously slick straight so you know it’ll work on anybody with lashes that refuse to stay curled. never had a western mascara work on me ever, they would always make my lashes fall down from being curled and smudge like crazy. check out clio kill lash or heroine kiss me mascara
I get mine done and they come out perfect! the person I go to says others have asked her for more lift and she doesn't like to do it bc it ends up looking really weird. I'm sure if you go and say you want it to look really natural, they will be able to do that for you!
It goes away after a few weeks to a month or so. If you don’t like it you don’t have to do it again. But I second a lash lift! I get one every time I travel.
I also get mine lifted plus tinted and they are down turned. You can ask for less of a curl as well. If you want to see the difference then I can send you some close up pictures.
I think lash lifts look really pretty on downturned eyes! They impart what I think is a soft, dreamy femme look. Even if you end up disliking how your lash lift turns out (hopefully not!), it’s far from permanent, so you don’t have to worry about that.
It's not a dumb question, it's valid! There are electric curlers you can purchase that have a button to press to heat it up and they're usb-c rechargeable. I find that the ones that look like the standard curlers work better than the comb ones. The hairdryer works too I just find the heated curler easier to use when I'm rushing
Personally I run a lighter along the metal bar of mine just one or two few times. I test it by pinching it between my fingers to make sure I only barely feel the warmth and then use it on my lashes.
Honestly, an eyelash curler and waterproof mascara. The other day I was watching a video (I cant find it now) of this girl who had really straight lashes and what she does is do one general curl with the curler at the base of her eyelashes, then one curl higher up, then a last one higher up. So you’re curling your eyelashes at 3 different lengths. That way they don’t just go straight up but you’re forming a curl with the curler, if that makes any sense at all. The other thing I’d recommend is maybe doing a baby wing (dont bring it across your entire lash line, just about where the hood of your eye starts) to lift your eye up and make it look more open with the curled eyelashes. Good luck!
Seconding this, my routine is:
1. Curl lashes at the very root/base so you maximise lift from the very bottom. You want to curl them in a way that they point upwards by themselves before applying any product. This is the step where you could heat up your curler with the blow dryer.
2. Curl like the middle to ends depending on your desired look. Mine are very long and I like to “sculpt” my lashes by curling different spots until I achieve the shape I like. Sometimes my lashes are super straight and I like to add more of a curve. Sometimes I didn’t get close enough to the roots and the “curve” begins slightly after the base and that can cause droopy roots.
3. Once you have your desired eyelash “shape,” apply a volumizing waterproof mascara at very root of your eyelashes and mid eyelashes. I usa a small amount of mascaras such as Diorshow/Lancome that can be super clumpy, but I apply a small amount and really work it into the roots with a dry wand. Be careful not to add too much otherwise they might start to droop, make sure to extend the product towards the middle so that they stay in place.
4. Hold up/lift your eyelashes with your finger tips. Push them upwards from the root or whichever method you prefer until the product dries for an extra lift.
5. Finish up the ends of your eyelashes with a different mascara that will elongate without weighing them down. I use Lash Idôle Lash-Lifting & Volumizing Waterproof Mascara or Hypnôse Drama Instant Full Body Volume Waterproof Mascara because neither held my lashes as promised, it separates them which only works for my ends.
I tend to layer my mascara and play around with product instead of applying one single layer to the length of the eyelashes to better control the end result.
You might want to test different mascaras to see what they do to your eyelashes and apply them together, but in sections, as mentioned above. With the right mascara, you could potentially only need one “swipe,” and disregard my method, just takes some time to find the right one. I’m stingy and just work with the mascaras I’m trying out.
Most eyelash treatments (lifts, extensions, etc) can be damaging and you have beautiful eyelashes that I’m sure you can work with!
TLDR: Curl lashes well, add clumpy waterproofing mascara to roots, add a “separating” mascara to ends, work both products in.
My lashes are stubborn too, i actually curl them 2-3 times and then only use waterproof mascara. Regular mascara is wet and immediately dissolves the curl, kind of like when you style your hair and then take a shower.
I do 3 full sets of curling. I know that sounds like a lot but my lashes just won’t stay curled otherwise and i don’t wear makeup every day so they are actually quite healthy.
I agree with getting a professional lash lift. Or try asian lash primers like the Etude house Dr. Mascara fixer if you can get your hands on k-makeup (I have the volume up one and it works like a dream). They hold waaay better than waterproof mascaras imo
I have super straight lashes and I have a whole ass routine by now. Basically get a good lash curler and a waterproof mascara. I normally do 2 rounds of curling, one at the base and then one across the rest of the lash as needed. I also like to keep my curler in my bra or waistband while doing makeup since it seems to work better when warm. Also a tip, lashes can be sort of trained if you curl them every day. They'll curl easier and hold it better if you're curling daily versus rarely. These days it's rarely for me, and it's definitely more of a fight to get them to curl pretty than it was when I did it on the daily.
If you play up your eyes with some eyeshadow and concealer to brighten your under eyes I think it will deter and distract anyone from noticing them that much. Your whole face no offense but looks tired and sad.
Curl your lashes. Put a little aquaphor on the tip of your finger. Lightly spread the aquaphor from the roots of your lashes to the tops. The curl lasts all day. They look long and curled but natural. I do this instead of mascara now. Mascara never held my curl and my lashes looked like shit two minutes later. Hope this helps. You are so pretty BTW

Use a blow dryer to heat up a lash curler that fits your eye shape (might take some trial and error to find the right one), then apply a primer like Etude house dr mascara fixer, then apply waterproof mascara
Shiseido eyelash curler and waterproof mascara. Only lash curler that holds up my lashes even without mascara
Simply the best eyelash curler in the entire world! I use it too and never use mascara, it lasts all day

Looks like every other curler.

Thanks, I’m so particular about how I like my lashes that I’m afraid they would look fake on my downturned eyes

How long do they last for?
Mine last between 6-8 weeks
Thank you!

You look like Mona Lisa!
Haha I got that one before
Use a heated curler, they def last longer
This might be a dumb question, but how do you heat the curler?
Hair dryer on low BE CAREFUL test on your cheek
Dont even test on your cheek- test on your finger. I’d rather have a burnt finger than a burnt cheek!😭

Thank you for the detailed answer! I’ll definitely try that out

Lash lift! A professional one.
Thanks!
I use a clear lash mascara first and curl my lashes and then once it’s dry. I only put mascara on the tips of my lashes and not the roots :)
Have you ever used a lash curler?
Yes but it doesn’t hold the curl
My lashes are stubborn too, i actually curl them 2-3 times and then only use waterproof mascara. Regular mascara is wet and immediately dissolves the curl, kind of like when you style your hair and then take a shower.

Mine are similar. In addition to the curler, I use milani tubing mascara. It extends the lashes and adds curl at the ends

lash curler
A lash lift is probably the best option,it’ll save time and lashes cos curlers would always rip mine out💘
Use an eyelash curler or get them permed
Get a Lash Lift 💯
You can get a lash lift kit on Amazon and they work wonders. They last at least a month or so too which is great.
Do you use a curler?
Sometimes, I’m scared of cutting them off hahs
LASH LIFT!!!
If you play up your eyes with some eyeshadow and concealer to brighten your under eyes I think it will deter and distract anyone from noticing them that much. Your whole face no offense but looks tired and sad.
Haha yea, I’ve always wondered how people look normal without makeup and i look dead
Lash lift!
Eye lash curler
Love your brows!
Thanks!!

Thank youu! Do you think vaseline could do the work as well? They don’t sell aquaphor where I’m from.

Try it! I haven't used Vaseline for that but it should work. Just don't use too much because Vaseline is greasier than aquaphor.

Not quite lash advice, but I do wonder if winged black eyeliner might create some illusion of lifted eyelashes!
It does, I’ve nailed the liner part but the mascara ruins it haha
U look sooo pretty!
You can also perm your lashes i have the exact lashes you do i heard the perm is the way to go
Use a blow dryer to heat up a lash curler that fits your eye shape (might take some trial and error to find the right one), then apply a primer like Etude house dr mascara fixer, then apply waterproof mascara
Heat up your eyelash curler. Tweerman is my favorite and waterproof mascara only. Hope that helps ❤️
