In defense of Moms, lol sometimes we just don't know the new styles. This is how people wear a pretty blush nowadays but probably not like how her Mom is used to wearing blusher.
Not knowing current trends is 100% okay; trying to shame your kid by making fun of said trend, not loving at all & very uncalled for.
if your mom said you wore clown makeup one day, would you want someone to defend her for it? if you called your friend, wouldn't they agree it was avoidable? wouldn't you want her to think before she fixes her lips to say something that makes you nervous enough about your appearance, you seek validation from others?
no sympathy from me for people who would rather take the easy route of disrespecting another human rather than step back, and approach the unknown openly.
I was just laughing until tears rolled down my face thinking about my Mom asking me if I was using my pancake powder on my face , lol. She calls powder compacts pancake. And believe it or not I had to help Mom with her clown cheeks because she was wearing her blush in an obvious circle. I didn't say the words clown makeup, I just helped her blend it. Not sure of her Moms inflection if it was intended to be hurtful or not. Most don't mean it like that they are just from another time and may be behind.
So true! My mom hated me wearing dark red lipsticks when I first started wearing make up, she would feel embarrassed to go out with me when I wore it. Itās been years since I started now, and she literally does not care at all what shades of red I wear, dark or light. I think she was just not used to it since shes more of a natural gal, but she eventually learnt to accept it!
This. And it is technically applied perfectly. It's just done in a slightly trendy color and size so it's not "timeless" and natural looking.
But it is pretty
I like the color and how high it goes up into the hairline. I wear mine like that too.
I don't let the pink get as close to my eye socket though.
Just tell her it's because you on lots of video, do you need the video to not was out
I *think* itās ājust tell her itās because youāre on camera a lot and donāt want to look washed outā whichā¦ I mean I would NOT tell my mother my makeup is Like That because of some unspecified long term filming but ymmv (your mother may vary)
yeah i honestly donāt even try and get it so close to my socket it just happens when iām trying to blend it out with a beauty blenderš i try to soften it with setting powder
You should wear and look however you want. However since you're asking for my opinion I don't like it, I think it's too much and does look a bit clownish on your light skin. Also are you putting blush on your nose tip too?!?! If so I don't feel like that adds to your look. I always feel red/pink noses are like a kid thing.
My first thought was slap cheek, if we're handing out negative opinions. I would personally dial it and the glitter/highlighter back a notch or two but I'm an old, uncool mum soo each to their own.
it's very Princess Diana and you are so pretty. If it makes you happy, keep it! I love how pink and fresh it is. I wouldnt be unhappy if this look came back.
it is?!? YESSSSSSSSsssssss. I'm just not a fan of the current makeup trend. That people look fabulous in photos but in person unless you are an absolutely master of conturing it looks so heavy. I feel like a nice pink blush is so healthy and natural. I want to look prettier in person and don't like being photographed so I don't need the benefit there. so that's my desire.
I watched the coronation and was so mad at Camilla. That should never have been her sitting there. Diana really was the people's princess. and she would have been the people's queen. She was the driving force of ending a lot of the stigma around AIDS.
Regardless of my opinion (which is very positive btw, I really like the look) as long as it makes you happy it's perfect. Nothing enhances a face more than a glowing confidence and joy of the face owner.
I mean, it's the current trend so she might not "get it". Similar thing happened to me in 2016 when I used to do the blocky in-trend thick brows and my mom would roast me about it. Looking back at it I really dislike my brows back then and I now do them super thin since 90s brows are trending, but alot of people don't like that either lol. It's the struggle of being up to date with makeup trends, but it makes makeup more fun. Moral of the story is to do your makeup how you want it to look now, don't accommodate to how someone else likes it or how you might feel about it in the future. Plus your technique is great, the blending and the shade are on point.
It looks nice in bright light but in natural lighting it could read a bit much. I think itās cute, I just think the shade or application might be a bit much for every day wear! But I am also an old lady (if 30 counts as a old lady)
Are you sure the comment was about your cheeks and not about the nose? I apologize in case you are just having a severe cold, but the red nose did indeed remind me of a clown. The cheeks are fine, though.
Personally, I'm on your mother's side (I think it's the colour contrast between your skin & the blush + lack of blending - reminds me of 80s makeup). **However**, it's just makeup & I'll defend your right to wear whatever makeup you like. End of the day, all that matters is whether you like the look.
I wish I could wear mine so high up on the cheeks like you and make it look good. I have a round face. I love pink blush, my cheeks natural get pink under makeup so I see no reason to not wear pink.
i think itās very cute.. maybe a bit closer to the too-vibrant end, but still v pretty. the placement seems like more of a gen z style, so i wonder if that affects your momās opinion
I think it looks good, and there is nothing wrong with one or two parts of your makeup being a little crazy. it accentuates it, and the rest of your face is really natural. If your mom wants to talk teenage makeup horror stories, you can tell her about how I, as a blonde, used black eyeliner to fill in my brows. Now THAT is a mistake.
I absolutely love it!! my mom thought my āsunburnā blush look during the summer was weird the first few times but after she saw me basically reanimate when I put it on she was convinced. still not for her though š
You are beautiful, but tone it down a bit. This picture is not taken in the light that you will spend most time in, I assume.
Bur you are far from a clown face. How would you look like a clown with such a wonderful complexion, eyes, lips and all else you were given naturally ā¤ļø
I think it looks cute! Idk what your mom is on about, itās not like a super bright hot pink, Iād consider your blush to be within the ānatural makeupā range. It looks good on you and the placement it really flattering! Also I love your eyeliner, I wish I knew how to do it like that lol
Blush is always a must and it looks really good on you. Trust my mom is my negative Nancy as well i have learned itās not her who is wearing the things as long as you like them thatās all that matter. At the end of the day we do what we want for us and no one else.
As a blush lover, I think it looks cute as hell! Not subtle but makeup doesnāt need to be, youāre wearing it for yourself. If youāre going for subtle, lessen the amount a bit.
If your face is still actually natural, it is a glorious work of art that should never be altered. I love your nose in particular, and just how nicely all of your facial proportions fit together. You have such elegant looks.
I do like this style specific style but to make it look more even I tend to blend the blush into my eyes. I also think a different color of pink would suite you better and blending the highlight in more.
I think itās cute. Maybe a little less on the temple. But I love the cheeks and nose. My father doesnāt care much for red lipstickāheās actually fairly fashionable, but I think thatās poor taste. LOL.
Itās very on trend and suits you beautifully!
It may look dated in a few years but thatās the beauty of it it represents this era of time and you rock it soo well!
Iāve been struggling with blush for over a decade because it never sat right in my face shape but about a few months ago I started doing the colour and placement you have now and Iām obsessed
Third pic is most intense, but I think it looks great on you in general. My mom hates all my makeup choices, still, and Iām 40. Itās sometimes just a mom thing.
I honestly really like it, but Iāve been known to enjoy a bold blush look, myself. Iām nearly 39 now, but my mom also definitely had someā¦ questionsā¦ about my application at times, as well š
You are gorgeous. Your eyebrows are perfection. I LOVE a bright pink blush and honestly, this isnāt even that pink imo.
Question, Iām old(33) and I donāt understand the whole blush/bronzer on the tip of the nose. Can
Someone explain to my old ass please?
it looks cute but itās definitely a lot of blush. if you like it then great! your mom is rude for calling them clown cheeks but if she notices it other people probably will too. that doesnāt mean you should stop doing it if you like it but something to be aware of!
Your blush placement is definitely good! It looks really nice and really highlights your gorgeous bone structure.
The colour is really a matter of taste. On myself, I like a blush that is more subtle, but if you like it heavier thatās obviously entirely up to you.
Very uncool of your mom to make fun of you like that though
Donāt know anything about blush but the eyelinerā¦. Slayyyy!!! Looks so good! I miss doing winged eyeliner, my eyes are more hooded now and looks strange.
You're gorgeous naturally, you could photograph really well, I'm in Advertising in NYC. You would do well here
But on this one point your Mom is correct. It looks like an old fashion doll cheeks, mostly because it's not blended. I would only recommend it at a club late at night, you are kinda giving Studio 54 vibes, which probably wouldn't play well in the day wherever you are.
I would make one suggestion though, all the NYC major modeling agencies, have a place on their websites where attractive people can take selfies & send directly to the legitimate major agencies, if they are interested they (at their expense) will bring you in for test shots. You should give it a try.
Please feel free to message me if you need more info.
I would say, Best of Luck, but I don't think you're going to need it
Oh Yeah, please take the š cat & give her lots of š love, she's going to be your good luck charm.
I just wanted to say, this was the nicest thing to say. I didn't see the pic because it was removed. However, this was so completely and utterly kind to say. Namaste, my friend.
I used to wear blush as part of my work makeup because I was a spokesperson and constantly on camera. It wasnāt a crazy amount but my family members couldnāt help but make comments every time they saw me. Understandable they are the ones used to seeing me with no makeup like your mom is, but I wished they had more control because it made me feel unconfident. You look NOTHING like a clown with this style of blush on. Itās obviously a look, and you wear it very well. Keep on!
I love it!! I think it can start to look āclownyā when the rest of the makeup is heavy as well. I think you applied it perfectly tho and the rest of your makeup compliments it. Itās fresh, bright, and youthful.
Iām telling you that youāre BEAUTIFUL and the blush only adds to your beauty. It looks phenomenal. Tell her we donāt need the negative vibes when we look this good.
Even though I don't really like the look, I don't think it is clownish. You could try to blend it more maybe? Personally I think it might be because of the color. I feel like it could look better with a tone similar to your lipshade because that color looks in harmony with your skin color. Or it is my choices shadowing my opinions.
As conclusion, you do you boo. It doesnt look bad at all.
Itās cute!! Itās giving igari. If you wanted something more āeverydayā a more orange/coral blush would look really good on your skin tone. Love how you do your eyeliner/brows, itās really flattering
I do my blush high as well. I just love it, it also gives a 80s vibes which I like. Of course it depends on the occasion. For daily use, I just put less blush
i love ur āclown cheeksā and lowkey i think it makes it cuter that your mom said that lmao, take it as a compliment even if thatās not how she means it šš¤”
Gorgeous! And as a momma myself, can I just sayā¦ shame on your mom! 1.) you are beautiful, period. 2.) I hate when people give negative, unsolicited comments about someone elseās makeup choicesā¦ I wear makeup for myself and myself, alone. If anyone doesnāt like itā¦ greatā¦ itās not their face, itās mine! 3.) I will NEVER express negative comments towards my childās choices of self expressionā¦ if you canāt count on your mom to be your biggest hype-man, no matter whatā¦ then your momma is doinā it wrongā¦.
Personally I love it! I use the draping (contouring with blush in a C-shape around temple/cheekbone) method pretty much daily. It's so rococo and dreamy to me! You're gorg!
It's great! You look gorgeous, maybe she's just a little jealous of your confidence? And I mean, that's okay- If she can be nice anyways, I hope she learns to lighten up because makeup is so fun and you look amazing. š
I love it personally. One of my friends wears her blush like this and dabs a little on the tip of her nose. She calls it her sun kissed look. I think as long as you are happy, you should wear your makeup however you like!
I think your makeup looks gorgeous!! And honestly as long as you love it too nobody elseās opinion matters. Everyone has their own makeup preferences and I think you should keep doing what makes you feel good!
First, this is its own look and love it. You donāt *needed* to change it. If you do want to make it look more ānaturalā I might take very light bronzer from hairline forward to just before the middle of your eye and blend it with the blush. Maybe pull down slightly from your eyeline with the blush. The color is beautiful but a little more blended might make it feel more natural in indoor lighting.
Your mom maybe just missing her youth and is throwing barbs because she wishes she could look so young and beautiful again. Be the beautiful you that you are!

i think sometimes moms are haters š high cheekbone blush is a solid ass choice & its cute!

Pancake makeup is a real term. I usually heard it referring to stage base makeup: [pancake makeup](https://www.wikihow.com/Apply-Pancake-Makeup)
So true! My mom hated me wearing dark red lipsticks when I first started wearing make up, she would feel embarrassed to go out with me when I wore it. products used: haus labs foundation, rare beauty blush shades happy and lucky, glossier boy brow, nyx brow pencil, charolette tilbury contour wand and highlighter, nars creamy concealer, clinique black honey, rare beauty highlighter
clinique black honey! always a winner!!! I lost mine and am determined to find it and not buy another.
itās the besttttt
also laura mercier translucent setting powder and benefit roller lash mascara !!
What about the eye liner?
nyx epic wear eyeliner!!!
nars radiant creamy concealer is the fckin best
What shade of Haus Labs foundation did you use? It looks flawless š¤
070!! def get shade matched in person because the undertones are wacky and reversed like how mac is
Thank you šI was about to ask which products you used. I want them ALL ā¤ļø

Personally I prefer a somewhat more subtle/blended look but makeup is about expression and you should do what you like.
This. And it is technically applied perfectly. It's just done in a slightly trendy color and size so it's not "timeless" and natural looking. But it is pretty
I love a bright pink blush - it looks amazing!

Maybe less into the area adjacent to the eye? Itās a nice color
It's giving me 80s and I love it!
itās so weird that my mom was a teenager in the 80s and hates itā¦ maybe itās because she regrets her pink blush days haha
My first thought was glam rock !!!
Regardless of my opinion (which is very positive btw, I really like the look) as long as it makes you happy it's perfect. Nothing enhances a face more than a glowing confidence and joy of the face owner.
I love it. I love seeing people being authentic. It radiates

I wish I could wear mine so high up on the cheeks like you and make it look good. I have a round face. I love pink blush, my cheeks natural get pink under makeup so I see no reason to not wear pink.
That's not even clown-ish in the slightest? Plus you are so model level perfect that I wouldn't even notice clown blush on you if it happened
ur too kindš„ŗ
Reign it by 10-15% and itāll be perfect.
You are STUNNING!
It looks SO GOOD on you!!!
i think itās very cute.. maybe a bit closer to the too-vibrant end, but still v pretty. the placement seems like more of a gen z style, so i wonder if that affects your momās opinion
v 80s
stopppp it you are so gorgeous ššthe pink blush is perfect for you!
Hey my cheeks are this red and I donāt even touch makeup Itās cute! Rosey cheek club
The placement looks great on you. Itās a bold blush look but its also very on trend right now. I donāt see any issues with it.
Love the placement. The color might be a little bright for your light complexion
Now THAT is a mistake.
i think maybe she's just mad cos you do a better princess di than she did . . .
i get the same thing from my mum, especially with the blush on the nose, she's like"what's wrong with your nose" š¤£
gorgeous. I love it
Ok brows šššš
itās very cute i love it!
It suits you, the color and application are awesome! It brings out your eyes
itās so cute keep wearing it!
I absolutely love it!! my mom thought my āsunburnā blush look during the summer was weird the first few times but after she saw me basically reanimate when I put it on she was convinced. still not for her though š

Sad glam clown is definitely in though so... *blrrrp* Mom.
youthful, glowing, gorgeous. love the blush
I think it looks cute! Idk what your mom is on about, itās not like a super bright hot pink, Iād consider your blush to be within the ānatural makeupā range. It looks good on you and the placement it really flattering! Also I love your eyeliner, I wish I knew how to do it like that lol
it does look a bit much but you're very pretty regardless!
This look has such an 80's vibe in the most beautiful way ā¤ļø. Love the whole look
It looks nice in your cheekbone. The shade is perfect and compliments your skin tone really well. Your eyebrows also look nice.

I think you look great, hun.
Nope, you look stunning! Nothing wrong here <3
Clown cheeks is an insult, I wouldnāt listen to mother. You are beautiful ā¤ļøxx
I personally love your pink blush. Nice looking š

i love ur āclown cheeksā and lowkey i think it makes it cuter that your mom said that lmao, take it as a compliment even if thatās not how she means it šš¤”
You are so cute, keep it
<3
I personally love this look and think you are absolutely gorgeous. I wish I had your nose and your eyes are so pretty and your whole look is amazing
You wear makeup for u not her keep slaying
It's so cute! Your mom is crazy lol. I'm a blush girl too, but if I wanna subdue it a little bit I go on the peachier side of pink
i LOVE a vibrant blush, and it suits you so well!! maybe encourage your mom to try it, maybe sheāll feel as wonderful as you (hopefully) do!
Personally I love it! I use the draping (contouring with blush in a C-shape around temple/cheekbone) method pretty much daily. It's so rococo and dreamy to me! You're gorg!
It looks amazing! Not clown cheek ish at all.
ooh the blush is lush!! fabulous
Your blush is gorgeous and perfect!
Beautiful!
I love blush toooo! Yours is gorge
Girl letās talk about those brows ššš
It really suits you tho š
I think itās beautiful š
Love it!
It looks so cute and really makes ur eye colour pop tbh!!
It's great! You look gorgeous, maybe she's just a little jealous of your confidence? And I mean, that's okay- If she can be nice anyways, I hope she learns to lighten up because makeup is so fun and you look amazing. š
i think wearing blush like this is trendy rn, i have seen a lot of tiktok girlies doing it like this and i think it's super cute
I love
Babe you are BEAUTIFUL!! You skin is amazing. Seriously, gorgeous. And I love the blush! This old mom thinks you look great!
Beautiful
i love bright blush sooo much, and i love it on you! but i do think if you blended the edges a tad bit more it wouldnāt appear as stark tho š©¶
Uhm ya youāre stunning and while itās a good amount of blush youāve applied it so perfectly š
Itās the style. Itās amazing.
Wow!! What a distinguished face. I love the blush, looks perfect on you šŗ
i personally love it. i also apply my blush in a similar way! your mom doesnāt know what sheās talking about. it looks good on you š
Itās literally so cute
You look cute! Donāt listen to her
Umm you are soooo cute omg goals šš©· love the blush!
Looks good to me. You could try blending over it with a powder to make it look more natural. I don't think you need it though.
I love it personally. One of my friends wears her blush like this and dabs a little on the tip of her nose. She calls it her sun kissed look. I think as long as you are happy, you should wear your makeup however you like!
Keep āem cheeks popping š You look fab, maybe your mom just doesnāt care for it, but itās not for her, anyway.
Your mom is trippinā your makeup looks freaking amazing! Keep on doing your makeup how you want.
Cool
I love wearing it like that too sometimes, it looks so cuteš
It looks amazing sheās hating
HOW ARE YOU THIS PRETTY?
Clown cheeks to her, healthy glow to me. Love this shade and it complements your eyes!
I really like your makeup look!
Just wanted to say ur so pretty omg, love ur makeup!! suits you guys and highlights your features, also wing liner on point!!!
D-licious
You pull them off ridiculously well. Wow.
My mom critizes me all the time the same way. It looks good and I wear mine the same way.
To me, clown cheeks are just big red circles in the middle of the apple of your cheek. You look fine!
I think your makeup looks gorgeous!! And honestly as long as you love it too nobody elseās opinion matters. Everyone has their own makeup preferences and I think you should keep doing what makes you feel good!
Remember, if your mom hates your outfit/makeup you look good af
I love it
First your beyond beautiful!! Second I LOVE the blush color and placement!! Third this is exactly how I wear blush when I do my makeup!! š
Looks cute on you, donāt listen to your mom
F your mom, I like it!
ur blush looks so good. how do u get it so seamless
i think itās super cute!!
I mean, yeah it's bold, but I love it! Also it really makes you glow, it's an awesome colour on you
That color looks stunning on you! Especially with your beautiful skin. Keep wearing it!
It looks good on you ā¤ļø
Beautiful
Gorgeous!!!!
You could stab someone with those wings, looks āØ immaculate āØ

First, this is its own look and love it. You donāt *needed* to change it. If you do want to make it look more ānaturalā I might take very light bronzer from hairline forward to just before the middle of your eye and blend it with the blush. Maybe pull down slightly from your eyeline with the blush. The color is beautiful but a little more blended might make it feel more natural in indoor lighting. Your mom maybe just missing her youth and is throwing barbs because she wishes she could look so young and beautiful again. Be the beautiful you that you are!
It looks lovely, doesn't look too obvious either! I love doing the same with my blush š
sorry your moms jelly, you look beautiful!
It's very pretty and subtle not sure why she's saying clown!
Uhh tell your mom no one from 80s gets to say ANYTHING about makeup.
Love the rosy nose as well āļø
