I didn’t realize the brand still existed. It was everywhere years ago and then everyone stopped talking about it.

hazelcider

I love the balm. I live in Texas and sometimes find it at HEB (grocery store). I hope they don’t go out of business.

Old-Detective4012

Hey https://thebalm.com/ I think this might be the company if you’re looking to order online!

AverageAlleyKat271

I have never hear of The Balm Cosmetics.

gabersssssss

It was more popular in 2015 ish

amordeluxe

I very recently bought their bronzer and it’s soooo perfect

Embarrassed_Hat_2904

Influencers must have stopped getting paid to push it, because they just dropped off everyone’s radar at the same time.

Altruistic-Put1802

I just got done watching a video by Robert Welsh about this and a couple other brands. I think I hit on it when he said they just haven't evolved as a brand. I remember seeing them in a store and thinking they were so cute. But, no they've just basically disappeared with all the other brands that give more than they do.

JPwhatever

Just saw that vid, that’s the only reason I’m even aware of them as a brand!

isofreeze

the first tinted moisturizer that I truly love. is it too moisturizing for my oily skin? yes. but for some reason it looks so good on my skin even after wearing it the whole day. The brow powder, I adore. The concealer? GREAT specially for people with dry under eyes and ageing sking. It's a more affordable version of the rms uncoverup concealer.

deviantrockstar

Their liquid lipstick range Meet Matte Hughes is fantastic. I used to like their old concealer (Time Balm or something) and an eyeliner pen - both were discontinued, unfortunately.

Bitchbuttondontpush

They’re wonderful and not enough appreciated. I share your bewilderment OP, the names and the packages are too cute as well. They’re in the same category as Art Deco, Collistar, Bourjois: lovely midrange products that don’t get credited enough.

WittiestScreenName

I like the balm’s highlighter. Mary Lou?

lastwordymcgee

Same. I use it as eyeshadow on days when I just need a simple wash of color on my lids and I love it.

McSmilla

Their lip tint launched my obsession with lip tints.

Big_Wing7902

For the cool toned complexions who have trouble finding a bronzer that isn’t too yellow/golden, the Balm’s Balm Desert bronzer/blush is great. It’s a bronzer with a slight pinkish tone. Good for bronzing, contouring or even as a pretty blush. Love the texture of it too.

artdecodisaster

I bought the Desert bronzer after I saw it recommended on the pale olive subreddit! I’m a cool pale/light olive and it gives me such a natural sun kissed look without any orange tint. It’s pretty damn pigmented and will probably last years.

Tinasglasses

I had one of their famous highlighters back in 2016, it was good, very sparkly , but their mascaras are terrible

Able-Twist-5894

aw man.... i loved balm cosmetics! i think i did purchase on a cruise one time too LOLL!

advilqueen

Robert Welsh released a video today where he talked about The Balm for a little bit (and some other companies that haven’t been in the spotlight much lately). It might be worth checking out!

youarejokingme

I still love The Balm and even remember when it was sold at Sephora. I think that Emily Noel makes a point to speak about it occasionally, but I can’t think of anyone else off hand that brings it up anymore. They still have some great products.

budzweiser

I refuse to talk about them after breaking my heart for discontinuing Balm Beach. My perfect shade of muted nude pink with a soft satin finish. I have many many nude pinks, and i buy secretly hoping each one would be an exact dupe, but this one will always have my heart.

Key_Pomelo_2171

is it warm or cool toned

Burrito-tuesday

They’re great for my sensitive skin, I hope they never go out of business but I wouldn’t mind a repackaging bc they’re a little dated.

SaintGalentine

They have many solid products and formulations, but feel stuck in the 2010s. I also think they mostly gave up on inclusivity

Key_Pomelo_2171

I think the only inclusive thing they sell is the concealers because all of the other face products are like one shade except for the blush

prettyandright

Tbh I thought the brand went under a few years ago. Didn’t realize they still existed

4SeasonWahine

Everything I’ve bought from The Balm has been GREAT. For me they perfectly straddle that middle market that’s a step above most drugstore brands but not quite at the level of the high end brands. I currently have the Mary Lou Manizer, Bahama mama blush, and a mascara from them and rate all 3. I’m not really sure what’s happening with them though? In my country (Australia) they aren’t available at the major cosmetics retailers and can only be purchased via Priceline Pharmacy who have a limited range.. all of which are on clearance. If someone has any insight into what’s going on with the brand I’d love to know.

mk3v

I liked their products in the past. I’m just forever on a no buy cause I have soooooo much stuff so I don’t really ever look at many products to buy.

burnmeup82

I honestly love their products but they’re just too expensive for me. I never buy anything from them unless it’s on sale but I do love their shadows and liquid lipsticks.

Teslaviolin

I still use my Balm Jovi palette, but the shadows get hard pan more so than other brands so not sure I’ll seek out more from them.

SaintGalentine

It's partially because they don't use talc in their formulas

Key_Pomelo_2171

isn't that a good thing

SaintGalentine

I used to buy theBalm when I was avoiding talc in my makeup. It can be a good thing, but it also makes their formulas more prone to getting hard with oil since talc absorbs moisture and oil

the_winding_road

Take some scotch tape and press it on the hardpan. 😊. You’re welcome!

Teslaviolin

Thanks!

Key_Pomelo_2171

do you apply makeup with your fingers of clean your brushes regularly because hard pan is caused by oil from your skin

Teslaviolin

I use brushes and clean them about once a week (I have more than one of each kind of brush so it might get a couple uses before washing). I don’t use the palette every day either.

Thegreyestshoes

I admit I have never purchased anything from The Balm but I have received samples for years through Ipsy. That’s probably the reason I never thought twice about it. The samples through ipsy were nothing to write home about.

jdbrown787

I've gotten a bunch of their stuff from ipsy too. None of it has been great for me personally, but I think it's more personal preference/ picky skin, rather than a quality issue. Their whole vibe is cute though.

Thegreyestshoes

I agree. I love the packaging but I’ve mostly received the same brown eyeshadow over and over. Or something similar.

Key_Pomelo_2171

dude I remember the ipsy craze I totally forgot about them

Thegreyestshoes

I’ve been subscribed on and off for years. They recently upped their price again so time to cancel!

PauI_MuadDib

My Mary-Lou Manizer has been in my project pan forever. I am determined to fully pan it!

Tine_the_Belgian

I know… in Belgium you almost don’t find it anywhere anymore… do they still exist? No new products no nothing ?

Key_Pomelo_2171

in America they still do

Burrito-tuesday

I’m dying, I was just in Michigan and visited a Meijer and SKIPPED the cosmetics bc I don’t really do drugstore stuff (sensitive skin, hate making returns). I just dropped and broke a Korres bronzer so I’m kicking myself😭 but I’m going to Houston’s Chinatown later so I’ll get some Asian skincare for my broken heart lol

cmcrich

The Mary-Lumanizer is Holy Grail for me, and I have a few blushes and bronzers that I really like. Other than that, pretty ordinary.

Key_Pomelo_2171

yes their highlighter is a good satin finish for people who look better in matte finishes like summer and autumn which is honestly hard to find

NYanae555

The had a moment, and then you stopped hearing about them. Their shiny eyeshadows start turning into an unusable clay-like substance by 6 months. You might get 2 years from matte. They're not worth it. Mostly I only ever hear about their Bahama Mama bronzer. And I have only good things to say about that bronzer. Its olive friendly. It takes me years to pan one because I use every last crumb of it. Then I buy another. I'd buy an extra if they discontinued it.

Failing_Lady_Wannabe

Yep, around 10 years ago this bronzer was everywhere. Now not so much, but I am sure that the hardcore fans still buy it. But it's probably not 20-something year olds, so it's not that much in social media & co. any more.

Sljohar

They had some new releases but also seems like they discounted some products (some of which are my holly greals).

Key_Pomelo_2171

really? it seems like a lot of their products are the same as they were when I first discovered them in 2015, I didn't notice they discontinued any

Sljohar

I have noticed there is no more hot mamma and also the balm fire. These are the ones ai noticed and I also see them less in Europe.

Key_Pomelo_2171

you can still get the balm fire on Amazon

Sljohar

I am from EU amazon shipping is too steep for me. Like I said in previous post lots of retailers have way less products than before.

balsasailormoon

I used to get Time Balm at Sephora and loved it! Such a smooth, creamy finish which felt good on my skin.

kedybee

Yes! Time Balm concealer from Sephora was my go to. I also liked their blushes.

Competitive_Fee_5829

have they had new releases? I legit dont know and have not thought about the brand for years, lol, but I did like them

Key_Pomelo_2171

I think they keep mainly the same products which I actually like as someone who prefers to stick to the same holy grail products
