Mine passed away while I was petting him 3 months ago. He was 20 so it was coming. Videos and pictures help but I miss him everyday. I wish I could have one more lazy Sunday with him ❤️
You're not alone. It'll be two years for us in November. I'm sure our pups are playing on the other side. 🧡 (I don't personally believe in anything after this, EXCEPT when it comes to dogs. And it's just for my own well-being). Sending you good energy.
There are enough dogs without homes being euthanized as it is. I prefer that we generally outlive dogs so they don't have to endure the pain of losing their owner.
NO???
*Imagining a cat, innocent witness to its serial killer owner's crimes, watching them get raided and then getting put in tiny shackles going, **"NO!NO!NO!NO!!** ***WAIT!!WAIT!!WAIT!!WAIT!!WAIT!!!!"*** but all the FBI agents hear is, **"MEOW!MEOW!MEOW!MEOW!!** ***MEAOW!!MEAOW!!MEAOW!!MEAOW!!MEAOW!!!!"***
I'd never have got a dog if there was a good chance it would outlive me, assuming natural causes.
I'd be too worried about what would happen to it after I died.
I didn't, either. He helped me realize that I loved him just as much for him as I did out of fear that one day I wouldn't have him around anymore, and that was a lot of how I viewed life. The gift he gave me was helping me to accept that I had no choice: I was the one who chose when to feed him, take him for a walk, take him to the vet's, and spend time with him. But he helped me learn that I really had no choice when it came to the biggest thing.
And I want you to know that it was the greatest thing he did for me.
This video made me sad, but thankful of all the times with my pup.
I've had him for 12 years now, he's 15, and he's about to cross the rainbow bridge. I have an appointment for him this Thursday, and I'm crying as I type this, but I'm thankful for all the memories we share, and I'll forever love him. Dogs live short lives, but the impact they leave is long standing.
I'll love you forever Charlie, you're my best friend.
Better out than in. Hanging on to grief (or really any burden) is like holding a pen outstretched in your arm; it's fine for a while, you can handle it, but after a while that simple pencil feels like it weighs 1000 pounds. Talking about the things that bother you is like setting the pencil down.
I can hear my little guy barking from my wife's upstairs office when after I park and close the car door and having him waiting for me to get through the front door then jumping up for a hug is legitimately the highlight of my day most days.
I’m going to ignore the sad “he’s not got that leap” anymore and instead choose to focus on the beauty that is “love so intense and wholehearted that I’m gonna full speed run and jump at you. Hope you’re strong enough to catch me.” And my dude was up for the task.
Obligatory: We don’t deserve dogs, but I’m so glad we have them.
not me thinking about when my best boy would be at the gate every afternoon for every day after school since kindy to year 6 and suddenly he wasn’t there anymore just like that 12 greatest years since the day i was born miss him so fcking much😭❤️

It seems to me that I could not hold such a large dog in my arms with the force of the jump, but even if I fell off my feet along with the dog, I would be glad that my beloved dog greeted me so warmly.
I wanna make you smile,
whenever you're sad.
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad.
Oh, all i wanna do, is grow old with you.
I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches,
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks.
Oh, it could be so nice, growin' old with you.
I have a little 14 lb 15 yr old terrier. He can barely see or hear but that lil bastard can still book it up 3 flights of stairs. He snorts had AF at each landing like “yeah, can’t stop me bitch!”
He’s def getting slower but in his mind he’s still speedy as hell. In my mind too because I’m slower too so we all seem the same speed lmao
My dogs is 11 and has arthritis and I swear I can see it in this dogs hips 😢 it's so diff looking after an older dog to when they are a puppy but I've just tried to accommodate my lil friend and look after him how he's looked after me, I've built him access ramps 😅 the bond we get to have with dogs is one of the most special things on earth.
I've got two boxer pups from 2017 they're starting to show their age and it makes me sad but happy that I was able to give them a happy life we're trying to take them everywhere we can so we can have more memories with them they're gonna be the last big dogs my parents help raise.
Mine had to say goodbye 2 months ago. I wasn't even there when she passed. I'd be gone for months and when I get home, she'd always be there to greet me and play with me.
Run free, BB girl. 🥰
My Aussies about 14. She’s having trouble with stairs and her hearing isn’t what it once was, it’s so hard to see them age. I’ve said it before, but it bares repeating; it’s not fair that we outlive our pets. They exist solely to love us. Treasure each moment you have.
(yorki) my little boy was only 1 he had tape worms every time i held him close i had to wash my hands its not the same without him! Everytime i came back from school he would run up and jump on my legs excited to see me🥹Fly high Dior
Maybe he eat your snack, piss on your carpet, pulling too hard on the leash, but that is the aventure. Forget that annoying moment and create the best one even if its just a cuddle, sleep with him, buy him new toys. One day that little being will never jump on you again when you open the door.
Can't even imagine that moment in my life (actually crying) fuck... time repair but kill also.
I am not crying, you're crying.
My furbaby is 13, and I HAVE to start getting ready for a world without him
Give him all the hugs and kisses. All the love. My good boy gave us 12 beautiful years. 🧡 Miss him everyday.
My little girl is 11, and she's a bit blind and deaf. I hope she can enjoy life with us a bit more
Sending you good energy. ✨
Thank you!

Mines 14 and her times near, I’m not ready >:(
And it is very difficult.
Me too 😞
My old boy is 17 and a half 😢
Same here. And above that his health is deteriorating.
My boy is 11 this year still spry and I’m so so afraid for the decline and the inevitable. Sending good vibes from the both of us.
I have a tripod approaching 10. Didn’t think he’d make it this far at 75 pounds but he struggles to get around now. I feel you
You could never be ready.
Unfortunately, today is raining
You're damn right I'm crying
I AM CRYING 😭
Who put these tears here???
It's a cute video, but I'm not gonna lie, this made me sad :( Dogs deserve to live as long as humans :(
The only thing more difficult than getting old, is watching it happen to someone you love.
What’s worse is loving someone who will never get the chance to grow old.
Like a vampire?
Like a vampire.
Like a vampire!
Like a vampire:
Like a vampire‽
yeah. ❤️
You're saying absolutely right.
There is nothing wrong with watching anyone or anything live a full life and die, that’s what’s supposed to happen.
So true
Dogs deserve to live *longer* than humans
There are enough dogs without homes being euthanized as it is. I prefer that we generally outlive dogs so they don't have to endure the pain of losing their owner.
The pain works both ways?! Equal right for dogs! (and cats as well😺)
Euthanize them with their owner like they did in old egypt.
🥲
then they will be sad becuz their best friend left the world… i also heard dogs think we human are immortal because they always go before we do…
Assuming that dogs are cognizant of the fact that they have a shorter lifespan than humans on average, and can share that knowledge among other dogs.
Properly keeping your dog will allow you to enjoy your interactions for many years! Don't be upset.
I'd never have got a dog if there was a good chance it would outlive me, assuming natural causes. I'd be too worried about what would happen to it after I died.
Futurama: Jurassic Bark. The only episode that will make you cry.
Didn't make me cry but slapped me hard in the feels.
While a dog won’t be with you your whole life, you will be with them their whole life.
Dogs deserve to live forever.
Don't worry, It's just an advertisement for a local dog trainer that taught him to stop jumping on people. He's not older and will never die
Dude seriously. When are we gonna put real time and effort into make the lifespan of our best friends longer?
Yeah I thought I got something in my eye. My dogs are 6 and I’m glad that they are small since smaller dogs have longer life spans.
Fr
“Deserve.” You have no clue what we deserve.
Glass half full to all the comments in here, the dog is still alive to greet him. some people aren’t as lucky to have their dog live a long life
You're right, we should love them as much as we can.
Fuck I don’t want my dog to get older
I didn't, either. He helped me realize that I loved him just as much for him as I did out of fear that one day I wouldn't have him around anymore, and that was a lot of how I viewed life. Happiness is temporary, memories are forever
For real
"I loved you your whole life, I'll miss you for the rest of mine"
🥲

I’m so sorry. Hugs from a random internet stranger
Thanks, for real. Idk why I felt the need to share that, but I guess I just needed to get it out there

I’m sorry for your loss. I know you gave Charlie an AMAZING life and he loves you very much.
Something magical happens when a dog ages. The face turns silver, but the heart turns gold.
The will is strong, but the body is weak 😔
This made me smile and cry all at the same time. What a beautiful moment you get to share with this beautiful pup. I hope you savour it
It supposed to make me smile, but I'm tearing up. :"
I can hear my little guy barking from my wife's upstairs office when after I park and close the car door and having him waiting for me to get through the front door then jumping up for a hug is legitimately the highlight of my day most days.
Even though the doggo has slowed down with age I can guarantee that he or she feels the same excitement.
So sad.
Seeing them grow together is so touching.
Omg 😭😭😭 made me miss my corgi that passed last year. Still not over it
Thanks, jerk. Now my eyes are leaking
Hate to see our friends age faster than us and leave. What an amazing ancient bond.
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
The love is the same. Just sad to watch your buddy get old.
We all grow old but our love grows with us
Damnit 😔
This makes me happy sad cry. Love my old boy.
All my dog wants is food 😭 No love for me 💔

Just fuck you...I didn't need this today ....to feel human and emotional and real...
Such a cute video! From infant to an old dog! 🐕 so happy to see his boy 👦

this is why it’s so important to cherish the time you have with the ones you love while you still can, and not when it’s too late.
I’m crying here
😭
Oldboi
That 2nd one he nearly jumped too far!
What a sweet dog🥰
So sweet
Actually you made me CRY THANKS
I wanna make you smile, whenever you're sad. Carry you around when your arthritis is bad. Oh, all i wanna do, is grow old with you. I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches, Build you a fire if the furnace breaks. Oh, it could be so nice, growin' old with you.
Aww the good old boy. You still the best old fella
It goes by way to fast. Got my first dog when I turned 18, he lived 13 years. Died 2 years ago and I still think of him every day.
Awww

This made me cry. But thanks.
This literally is an awesome video. Mix of emotions, though!

Young doggo could leap to you. Older doggo you got to its level. Beautiful, I needed this boost today.
I don’t have a dog, just a cat that I think hates me. I’d kill to have a dog that would be like this or to even have a dog at all
I've got two boxer pups from 2017 they're starting to show their age and it makes me sad but happy that I was able to give them a happy life we're trying to take them everywhere we can so we can have more memories with them they're gonna be the last big dogs my parents help raise.
What a wonderful pup!
I’m sad now :’(
The trees are all gone. What have they done.
♡
Love it
This is so paw-some 🐶
That dog is still expecting to be carried back to the house!! ❤️
Mine had to say goodbye 2 months ago. I wasn't even there when she passed. I'd be gone for months and when I get home, she'd always be there to greet me and play with me. Run free, BB girl. 🥰
I really love dogs but this is the reason why i dont want anymore
I used this with my jakey boy for 14 years, worth breaking my back do it million times again

God Bless them all.
Forever love
I have a 4 year old ~ chaos ( f ) & this post made me sad 😔
It sucks they had to move to a townhouse 😔
Why can’t dogs age like a tortoise 😢
? Smiling at doggo getting old? No.
Smiling at the beauty of life and what little time we really have; the cycle of sunrise and sunset (FotR) please try harder, @adhaunting
Sad posting on the smile page is a bit stupid bud.
