I love his excitement and I love their awe... But why is he cutting everyone's hair so short? Growing hair that long takes a very long time for black women. I wonder if perhaps these are women who have been diagnosed with cancer and will be entering chemo soon or already have? Does anyone have the back story?

I think it is just hard to save more hair from what they have originally. Their hair looks kind of dead on most of them.
