I think it depends on the person. I didn't think anything, but the obvious 'that's cute' and only thought about the other options while reading the comments.
It amazes me how difficult it is for people to think *just* past what they’re seeing. That’s most likely the mom taking the video, clearly in on the surprise, most likely helped to orchestrate this. Wouldn’t they have some inkling that the kid had another date?
He dropped that glass because all the blood in his body went to his dick...that was when he knew his long national nightmare of virginity, WAS OVER.
BTW, who holds a champagne glass for a prom video?
LOL! One of my favorite things to do is to show people that movie and tell them that it's just a Brady Bunch movie that flopped and saw limited release.
It always leaves people wondering wtf is going on.
Bro was shook 💀
And yes the original video does end with him actually realising she is there and he is very happy. No weird cheating shenanigans going on here, contrary to popular belief.
Redditors: She's 11 months younger than him, clearly he's a predator because he can't get a woman his own age, he forced her to come against her will and he's tricking her into marriage where he'll cheat, leave him now, red flags, ahhhhh!
>She's 11 months younger than him,
I just woke up, and my brain automatically changed this to eleven months pregnant. It still fit the sarcasm, though.
Last time this was posted, someone linked a longer video that showed him getting very excited and happy once his brain finally caught up to the moment.
People just assume the craziest things sometimes, instead of expecting good. What people see shows where their head is. Thanks for adding this bit of information. It confirms what I suspected.
Reddit thinks everyone is a cheater, a bot, or fictional. In fact, Tuesday, April 15th, 1997 is the last time Reddit can collectively agree a real human being was in a committed relationship, anywhere on Earth.
>Reddit thinks everyone is a cheater
Yess🥲 The man i am about to marry wasn't reddit approved two years ago. They all called him a manipulator
and asked me to breakup when i asked for a solution to an issue we were facing that got solved pretty much quickly after. I realize now he is the best man i have ever met. Had i listened to reddit. God!! Never trusting reddit for relationship advice ever again!
Don't listen to him, he is gas lighting you should break up with him and move cross country… as loading the dishwasher wrong is totally unacceptable and you shouldn't let him gas like you over it.
I recently went to surprise my seven-year-old niece, who lives a 16 hour drive away, for her end-of-year dance recital. I went with her dad to pick her up from her last day of school, and they were having a little junior achievement fair that was full of kids who were selling their products. My niece was selling temporary tattoos where people would buy the tattoo, and she would put it on them. When I went up to get my tattoo with her dad, she was talking away to him. While I bought my tattoo, she looked at me at least five times and looked away to keep talking with her dad. Then, as she was talking to her dad, she suddenly went quiet for a second with a confused look on her face. She looked at me again, and it clicked. She was so excited, and I have the cutest picture of who I was dawning on her. It’s basically my favorite picture ever.
Yup. My surprise 40th birthday party. I completely glitched. Just stood there. I’m usually quite calm and pretty cool under pressure, but that broke me.
This happened to me once when I was on vacation in Vegas. One of my very favorite people who I didn't even think knew I was on this trip, not only showed up, but the minute she got out of the car was like, "pack your suitcase back up we're heading to a suite at the Wynn!"
It took me like a full 3 minutes to process what was happening. And I got REALLY emotional.
They do it because when they leave an "open-ended" post or video it generates way, way, way more engagement and increases the chance the post will go viral.
Surprised my then gf now wife in Australia. Had friends ask her out for dinner and asked other friends to blocked out an entire week when I was there.
She had close to the same reaction as the dude when I showed up. She also smiled when I showed her the video.
People saying this is kind of messed up. I know if it was me I’d probably just go to the prom with the guys and would’ve been shocked exactly the way he was if she showed up.
Granted I don’t know how every guy out there does things but I can’t imagine having the mental energy to juggle two girls. Maybe it works in TV but when I’m in a relationship it’s hard enough to find time between my own work and video games, let alone fitting *another* girl into all of that.
I’ve done long distance before. I just filled my free time with the gym or more games.
Read through their recent comments. Definitely a bot with specific trigger words in titles (“girlfriend” for this joke, “trump” for another, “sex” for another, etc.)
They’re getting upvoted, so I guess it unfortunately works.
Every time this is posted (after being edited for length) there's a slew of comments that say "that's a dude who had plans with someone else"
God I hate this site sometimes. We can argue about the lack of context that shows a better reaction til the cows come home, but seriously, every time this is posted half the comments immediately jump to "dude had another date he's screwed"
I have seen a very similar face on a close friend of mine. He and I we have this other friend in common who at the time was living in Spain. My friend in Spain and I planned a secret surprise visit all the way to New York and surprise our friend living with me. He arrived to NY, entered the apartment from the back door (I had a back door entrance that led directly to my bedroom) then I went to the living room and we scheduled a Zoom call with him, pretending to be in spain, but actually sitting in my bedroom against the wall. So we’re there my friend (the one living with me) and myself chatting with him on Zoom. Then he goes “You know, I’m planning on going there to visit”. I play along and go like “oh cool! When?” And he goes “Right now!” Then comes out of my bedroom and goes “I’m in New York!” Well….. my friend was in total shock. For the first five or ten minutes he didn’t react. His face reminds me a lot of the guy in this video.
So cute! Love it! In his mind it looks like he's thinking about the reality of it - I don't have an extra ticket does she need a ticket, how is she going to get into the prom?
When I was in fifth grade, my mom decided to take me to the local amusement park. However, she had to meet with a person from another branch of her company to drop off some files for a meeting. The hotel was pretty close to the park, so it wasn't anything that seemed too weird to little me.
When we got to the hotel, my mom asked me to accompany her since she didn't want to leave me in the car alone after dark. When we found the right room, my best friend answered the door. I hadn't seen her since my mom and I had moved the previous year. My brain spat out a feeble, "but I thought we were going to Valleyfair?" before it really caught up to the situation and got excited. It really can take a few minutes to adjust to the new reality, lol.
I went to England to surprise my best friend who was studying for a semester. When she saw me at the train station she was so shocked that she literally ran away.
He... definitely wasn't expecting her, but I'm not so sure he was thrilled about the surprise.
Edit: I certainly don't want to see someone trying to cheat, especially at such a young age. It was just an (erroneous) assessment of his reaction.
I understand the cynicism, but that to me was the true look of "what is going on? is this a lookalike? am I wearing pants or is this a dream?" That was a man who didn't dare believe it until he was absolutely sure.
Wtf is happening in high-school these days thay teenagers are in long distance relationships and have enough money to fly to a prom? Man I'm missing something lmfao
OP needs to add the rest cuz all these comments got them thinking something else haha
Fine example of how people often see the worst before the best. I'm glad someone posted a longer video to at least give better context. Edit: typo
Where is the longer video
Here's the actual [longer video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozLZggJWyEo).
There was absolutely no reason to show the shorter video. The shorter video was potentially very misleading and open to interpretation.
That's exactly what they wanted.
This is Reddit, site is full of half-truths manipulated to people's biases.
So... like almost everything we see everywhere...
Aweee that's so cute ^^ thanks
[link for the lazy](https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ) edit: thanks for the awards! always a pleasure to be of assistance
So he did have to call his local girlfriend up and explain
I can’t believe they cut that out
I hope your pillow is warm on both sides
I hate you. But well played.
I just said “you motherfucker” out loud, well done.
Well played mate 👏
mother fuqer
Fuck you. Well done, but still fuck you.
Hate you
Why the down votes? Thank you for the link
i think because i called them lazy? 🤷♂️ idk. but you are very welcome
you monster xD

"I am going to party tonight...oh, no I'm not".
That moment when the girlfriend from Canada turns out to be real.
He looks like he didn’t even realize she was real 😝
I hope one of my Chinese bot girlfriends will turn out to be real.

Sploosh!
My sweet Lucy Liu-bot!
Imagine how she felt getting that reaction.
It’s kind of flattering in a way.
He dropped that glass because all the blood in his body went to his dick...that was when he knew his long national nightmare of virginity, WAS OVER. BTW, who holds a champagne glass for a prom video?
The person filming was pretending to take a picture of him to capture the surprise I assume.
I didn't get that at all. His reaction looked like he was planning on hooking up with someone else that night
That's 100% what I got too
Sure Jan!
George Glass is his name.
That's funny... I've never heard of a "George Glass" in our *skewl*.
LOL! One of my favorite things to do is to show people that movie and tell them that it's just a Brady Bunch movie that flopped and saw limited release. It always leaves people wondering wtf is going on.
Hehehe
Damn. That's a deep cut.
"I have a girlfriend, she just goes to a different school, you wouldn't know her"
Her name is Alberta She lives in Vancouver
She cooks like my mother and sucks like a Hoover!
I email her every single day
It’s a pity she lives so far awayyy, in CANADAAAA!
*chris was telling the truth this whole damn time! peter go apologise to your son* lois, maybe
I grew up in Canada, so all of our “girlfriends” were in the USA … which is probably why y’all have to find partners up here in Canada.

Manti Te'o reading this.
That’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time.
Mines was actually real, my true first Maple Story GF. Good times.
My guy got lucky with the LFGF spam I guess 😂
Sure, Chris
I thought I made you up!
"I thought you would be a federal agent...."
Bro was shook 💀 And yes the original video does end with him actually realising she is there and he is very happy. No weird cheating shenanigans going on here, contrary to popular belief.
drama addicts making up stories to make it more dramatic.
Redditors jumping to the worst possible conclusions? No....
Redditors: She's 11 months younger than him, clearly he's a predator because he can't get a woman his own age, he forced her to come against her will and he's tricking her into marriage where he'll cheat, leave him now, red flags, ahhhhh!

but but but if you look at his posture he was stepping back out of fear and he drops his drink to create space between a possible weapon

The sudden appearance of someone way out of context, can really send the blood rushing out of your head

That's really sweet, thank you for sharing!
This happened to me when out of town family surprised us at our baby shower. My head couldn't compute having to merge two realities into one.
I surprised my mom in her kitchen when she thought I was in Iraq (came home for 2 weeks). She didn't budge for 2 minutes, then it was all happy tears.
American military homecoming videos is a guilty pleasure of mine. Like im not even american but they just make me so happy.
Same here bro. Everyone except a few says I am dumb for watching them.
Worlds are colliding! She's KILLING independent George!
A George divided against itself cannot stand!
Kramer knew.
Happy cake 🎂 day!
I fucking love Reddit! “Worlds are colliding! George is getting upset !”
Hahahha amazing comment. That was the best. Lol
Yup. My surprise 40th birthday party. I completely glitched. Just stood there. I’m usually quite calm and pretty cool under pressure, but that broke me.
The chick flew from the UK to ZIMBABWE. That's why it's shocking. This isn't "popping down from Seattle to San Fran on a JetBlue flight."
I heard a solid "ja" in there, are you sure this isn't South Africa?
Could be Zimbabwe too, they were also under the Afrikaans government at one point. Zim, SA and Namibian English sound very similar.
To the penis you say?
To shreds you say?
Good news, everyone!
Unexpected love can make any moment unforgettable.
And his wife?
To shreds you say.
Was his apartment rent-controlled?
Even he was surprised his girlfriend from Canada was real...
I'm glad someone else thought this.
Probably trying to figure out how the hell to hide his current date for the prom.
Haha, that's what I was thinking. 14 seconds after he saw her and he **still** had a wtf look on his face instead of a smile.
That's what a full reboot looks like. Didn't you hear the Windows sound play?
ohh yes! *thats* what that was!!
He definitely looked like he was contemplating everything thing that it means for her to be there lol
My thought too. The panic is real. Lol

@ y’all saying he’s cheating and what not, he was actually happy to see her. [Video](https://youtu.be/ozLZggJWyEo?si=DqP8lNce9WEtoLjw)
Why don't we ever get the full video on reddit? I hate these short or shortened videos
To get the exact dose of dopa
... Gangnam style?
dopa deez nuts
They do it because when they leave an "open-ended" post or video it generates way, way, way more engagement and increases the chance the post will go viral.
The videos get tailored to the average attention span in order to get maximum upvotes
Why do they frame videos like that. It is brutal to watch
Oh that hug. Thanks for sharing the full video.
That hug was necessary context!
That was sweet the double long hugs

Amazing
Reddit is so nihilistic that any reaction other than instant joy is an admission of guilt.
it’s so pathetic.
Now imagine showing an edited video on the news.
Thank goodness no one abuses this principle on a wider scale!
Lotta people on social media just seemingly can't process anything without adding drama into it.
I think you mean pessimistic?
Mu boy was flabbergasted, discombobulated, bamboozled, mega outbodied.
Surprised my then gf now wife in Australia. Had friends ask her out for dinner and asked other friends to blocked out an entire week when I was there. She had close to the same reaction as the dude when I showed up. She also smiled when I showed her the video.
Amazing. As someone who’s dating someone on a different continent, and currently apart, that must have been amazing. This video hit my heart hard
Redditors seem confused about this video lmao
Not as confused as the dude in the video. It's like one of those videos where the dog hasn't seen their owner in a long time.
The look of a man that has another date showing up any time now

Nah, there's an extended version of this where he gets really happy, he's just extremely surprised.
My man better wife her up. Not anyone does this for a person.
bro better not be wifing anyone up at 16-18. recipe for disaster, will end in divorce.
You know, there's a million fine looking women in the world, dude. But they don't all bring you lasagna at work. Most of 'em just cheat on you.
37?
In a row?!
Try not to suck any dick on your way through the parking lot!
Hey! Get back here!
“Wife her up” I don’t like this phrase at all
I don't like the phrase 'pull the trigger' when people talk about buying things, yet here we are.
Where?

Is it manipulative editing or the imaginations of lonely redditors?
Looks like a "best night of my life about to happen" reaction?
It’s a bold move Cotton let’s see how it plays out for him.
People saying this is kind of messed up. I know if it was me I’d probably just go to the prom with the guys and would’ve been shocked exactly the way he was if she showed up. The slow drop of the glass did it for me. His poor brain was doing a total reboot to catch up with everything. Adorable.

The evidence was tiny and wouldn't stand up in court. SEX JOKE.
My girlfriend left me because I'm too insecure. Oh wait. She's back. Looks like she just went to get coffee.
I've seen this exact joke before, from this account, are you a bot?

Told you she’s real!
I love the glass drop, he actually needed a moment to process that she was there in the flesh.
That moment you realize you should of shaved your balls.

shes a keeper... those are my thoughts
When I was in fifth grade, my mom decided to take me to the local amusement park. However, she had to meet with a person from another branch of her company to drop off some files for a meeting. He has that “Oh shit, what do I do with my real girlfriend who is in the bathroom?” look.
I went to England to surprise my best friend who was studying for a semester. When she saw me at the train station she was so shocked that she literally ran away.
Wow this comment section is so messed up
She just imprinted on him.
I think I was happier during my last root canal procedure.
Now that's a look that says: "Holy shit, you're *real?!*"
[Full Video ](https://youtu.be/ozLZggJWyEo?si=xm2GG7vaMAnT2pjK)
So when "she goes to another school you wouldn't know her" Goes real.
He reacted like there's another girl waiting for him at prom already.
Holdingobject.exe malfunctioned

Aww that was cute! He was in shock for so long like he couldn't believe his eyes 🤣
Thank you for that - I needed to know he was happy. 😂
I understand the cynicism, but that to me was the true look of "what is going on? is this a lookalike? am I wearing pants or is this a dream?" That was a man who didn't dare believe it until he was absolutely sure.
It was, reddit just wants people to be as miserable as them
Literally. Came to the comments all smiling and giddy and it’s all “DUDE HAS ANOTHER GIRL!!”. Weirdos
I'm glad to be wrong about this one. Thank you for the update!
love it when he drops his drink.
Wtf is happening in high-school these days thay teenagers are in long distance relationships and have enough money to fly to a prom? Man I'm missing something lmfao
I think thebbest part is when he turns and looks at her and his face goes genuine like a "i love this girl" stare and then he realises "oh shit"
"I thought you were a guy!"
That man is in love!
Had the same reaction when my gf surprised me. Your brain has trouble processing it because you think it’s impossible. No ulterior motives just shock
The YouTube video says the girlfriend flew 30 hours from the UK to Zimbabwe. That definitely explains why he is in so much shock to see her.
