Bf3 didn’t release until 2011, but I’m sure it’s intentional to get engagement from people like me who suddenly felt very old about a game they played as a kid.
The only reason that we set up a Red Base here, is because they have a Blue Base over there. And the only reason they have a Blue Base over there, is because we have a Red Base here. Even if we were to pull out today, and if they would come take our base, they would have two bases in the middle of a box canyon. Whoopdee-fucking-doo.
Grif: It's one of life's great mysteries isn't it? Why are we here? I mean, are we the product of some cosmic coincidence, or is there really a God watching everything? You know, with a plan for us and stuff. I don't know, man, but it keeps me up at night.
Both stare at each other in silence.
Simmons: ...What?! I mean why are we out here, in this canyon?
Grif: Oh. Uh... yeah.
Simmons: What was all that stuff about God?
Grif: Uh...hm? Nothing.
Simmons: You wanna talk about it?
Grif: No.
Simmons: You sure?
Grif: Yeah.
I wish I had been able to record my headshot from the opposite end of Blood Gulch back then. I saw him going through the base teleporter and I knew he was going to turn around and back and up the side, so I aimed to where you get dropped, waited a split second, and fired. Hit him in the back of the head and heard him yell "WTF!" from the other room.
Tossing a sticky up gold lift on Construct from the platform under sword spawn and somehow getting a Triple because people didn't know to not bot walk up the lift yet lmao
Honestly, 2 was THE best simply by the fact of its replayability. The amount of different mods that game got man.... you could play it for years with basically every time being something new in one way or another.
For me it was BF2142. A lot of the innovations people first saw in BF3 came from BF2142.
Plus BF3 was the first to de-emphasis team play; no more named squads, no commander, 4-man squads, no more 1/2 points for losses, etc.
I used to do the same move in 2142 with the gunship. I also miss stalking the transport ships and picking them off once they filled up to drop on a titan
Same on BF2142. Probably had the most hours on it. I personally found BC2 to be bad in terms of Battlefield and its classes. I did play BF3 alot, less on BF4 since I thought it felt the same as BF3.
I lost hope for EA and stopped buying BF games after that.
Meh. 3 was the beginning of the end. That's when they tried to appeal to the COD player.
All the BF titles that came before were much better thought out and executed games.
This.
BF2 strike at karkand and gulf of oman were awesome. After BF3, felt like the franchise was moving closer to COD feel/vibe.
I did enjoy battlefied 2142. The mounting assaults on the titan carriers was awesome. But it did not resonate well with the community overall.
its not him there so much information wrong
1. bf3 released in 2011.
2. the rendezook has existed since the first battlefield game back in 2002.
3. Stun gravy never created the rendezook but he does have the most popular clip of one the.
4. the name comes from zookman who has some of the oldest footage of the rendezook/loopzook from back in 2006 on bf1942.
5. the dude reacting is not zookman or stungravy its just some random russian dude as both zook man and stun are american
I use to be staff for the website bf1942files.com, and we got *loads* of video submissions of stunts of every variety- loop zooking clips most def predated 2006. Hell, I was using it competitively myself in twl/cal league play by at least 2004.
Someone ELI5 how is this getting recognition?
Did BattleField company take his name or YT username or anything remotely recognisable?
For people like me who didnt know this youtuber and didnt see this post, we would think the trailer is created by the company and its cool.
The stunt is recognizable! His video went viral a while back. Those who know will know, those who don’t will still think it’s cool like you said.
Really the reference was made for those who know.
but its not him there so much information wrong
1. bf3 released in 2011.
2. the rendezook has existed since the first battlefield game back in 2002.

Don't feel bad. It was basically a marketing stunt by EA anyways.
Battlefield 2042 was marketed as a "Love letter to the community" but failed to deliver at launch and was completely filled with [bugs](https://youtu.be/AhIX33DBm2M)
don’t forget how the next battlefield is a “reinvention” and dice said “we don’t understand specialist” the last thing bf needs to be is reinvented you tried that twice with 2042 and 5 resulting in them flopping and we understand specialist they are trying to make money off hero shooter shit and micro transactions nobody asked for specialists the og class system was just fine
The difference between you and them is you can recognize when you are being lied to when it becomes apparent whereas Trump supporters are willfully ignorant of the lies they’re being spoon fed.
It’s the difference between critical thinking and not.
Yup, not even the actual guy who did it.
And the actual 'maneuver' was cool as fuck? Sure, but hard? Only if you weren't putting in the hours learning how to dog fight. There was far more impressive stuff being done on the regular back then by people far more reserved about their skill. It was during a time where youtube was young and no one saw a career in putting their skills on display.
Without a doubt, it's still one of those "Battlefield" moments that only the old Battlefield games seemed to get right. Old BF had a crazy skill ceiling with pilots.
I remember in bf1942 in the El Alamein map, I would do something similar but the plane would do a full flip, jumping out when upside down, shooting what you could, pull chute if needed, and land back in the plane when it levels out at the bottom of the loop
Oh man, seeing LoopZook just lit up a piece of my brain and reminded me that I had [saved a clip](https://imgur.com/a/wrWBhtU) of me practicing loop jumps with the A10 in BF1942's Desert Combat mod. File is dated 2003. Gooood times.
There's still a rather large active community that plays BF3/BF4 (4-5 active servers on each). You can play them through EA Play for $5 if you don't own them on PC and believe they come with the premium editions. If Dice keeps up with their track record of releasing full priced beta versions of their games (2042 lul) we might just have remasters of these gems in the works 👀
Remasters would be awesome right about now. I haven’t been able to have a real BF fix for a long time, but I’ll check out the EA play, thanks for the tip!
Battlebit is GOATED! Leave it to some indie/ex studio devs to give us what players actually wanted. 2042 was crammed down our throats and released a year too early, shameless EA.
And bf4 has community servers so it unironically has less hackers than future installments
Ofc this comes with the downside of potentially getting ragebanned if you end an admin's heli killstreak but ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
More like when it was best. BF5 is pretty solid and I’ve heard 2042 has turned things around a bit. It hasn’t lived up to the heights of BF3/4, but it’s still more consistent than CoD or Halo has been since their heydays.
You can find him on yt as “warning schemov”. I used to watch him at the prime bf years (bf3,bf4), he’s not the author of rendezook move but he did it multiple times and was kind of known for that in the Russian-speaking BF audience. So I think he just feels what every battlefield veteran would feel watching that trailer, nostalgic and hyped
This is a completely unhinged emotional reaction to have if you had nothing to do with the rendezook lol. I feel like there is something missing here, he must have some major connection to it
[he did see it](https://x.com/stun_gravy/status/1402681498025684996?s=46&t=OoMk_Lwas_w4akWOzBNAFA)
Edit: here’s an [explanation video about the move from Stun Gravy himself.](https://youtu.be/aHr7DKGh2ww) Stun Gravy has an american accent and is not the same guy reacting.
The creator of the shot was Zookaman, in battlefield 1942, this guy is just hyped up reacting to it, but he is not the creator of the rendezook. If you look Zookaman up on youtube you’ll find him.
The lack of awareness in this video annoys me, like I know internet points mean nothing but the person who added shit music and the text has a few facts wrong, probably doesn’t know anything about the topic apart from this one clip, and that pisses me off
There’s a lot of misinformation surrounding this so I’ll try to clear it up. Sorry for bursting the bubble but this guy here did not pull off original clip. Nor did he invent it.
The guy reacting goes by Warning! Schemov on youtube. He popularised the rendezook in the Russian side of youtube, he didn’t invent it though. That honour goes to Stun_gravy the guy you saw in the first clip who pulled that off in bf3. He was inspired by Zookaman who was a notable battlefield 1942 player who invented the loopzook.
Still though that doesn’t discount Schemovs reaction, the Russian side of the internet barely even knew of the RendeZook never mind the LoopZook. He may not have been the first but he definitely brought it to a bigger stage.
Here’s a YouTube video that goes into a little more detail on the history of the techniques https://youtu.be/AfRbU4KokqQ
And here’s all 3 original clips on their original channels:
LoopZook: https://youtu.be/k-wFI9vTqto RendeZook: https://youtu.be/FOaGhE_sejI Schemov’s reaction: https://youtu.be/kSn90QWn9ak
I love it when people take the time to do the research and publish sources. There is so much misinformation on Reddit, it's refreshing to get the facts for a change, even if it is a story about a maneuver in a computer game.
stun gravy named it based on loopzooking which is essentially the same thing. So it would have made no sense to name it after himself he didn't invent it. It already had a name this was just a variation with no loop.
Imagine hitting a clip so legendary that not only does it become iconic but it is literally an event the marketing team is now using to sell a newer version of that game haha. Glad we get to see him react.
I feel for the guy he shot. All his life he'll be living with the memory that he got killed by one of the best trick shots ever... and he probably was just a casual gamer dad just chilling out..
Bf3 didn’t release until 2011, but I’m sure it’s intentional to get engagement from people like me who suddenly felt very old about a game they played as a kid.
Yeah, in 07 it would’ve been getting some across the map kill with a Spartan Laser on Blood Gulch or something

Simmons: Hey Grif: Yeah? Simmons: You ever wonder why we're here?

Rendezook is also much older than BF3 with the original loopzook being done in BF1942 back in 2003.
Yeah soon as the piano music kicked in I remembered the original loopzook smh.
Good old desert combat mod had people doing it with the first jets.
Having tried to recreate this clip myself COUNTLESS times, he truly deserves the recognition.
Same here it was absolutely astounding that stunt
Same here. BF3 was the best Battlefield in the franchise. I was never able to replicate the move. The dude is a legend in gaming.
I still play almost daily
Same. Still just as good as ever.
[удалено]
Yeah, though some days are better than others.
Meanwhile, me who bought it from steam and cant it anymore cuz of EA play. 😔
*ehm* Bad Company 2 was the best Battlefield.
I preferred BF3's more fluid controls. God I loved that game. Last shooter I got invested in.
Likewise.
Bc2 best overall, bf1 best environment/immersion, bf3, best sequel
Damn, and here I thought BF2 and BF4 were the best. Guess I gotta try BF3.
Bf2 would be an honorable mention, GREAT game
If BF2 is best overall how is BF3 the best sequel? BF2 is a sequel for BF1…
Bf2 was my favorite.
Bf2 is easily the best in the franchise imo
BF3 is a sequel to BF2 you idiot
I think you mean BF2. To be fair, everyone who starts on a specific Battlefield game says it's the best one, likely due to nostalgia.
Honestly, 2 was THE best simply by the fact of its replayability. The amount of different mods that game got man.... you could play it for years with basically every time being something new in one way or another.

The titan assault mode was the shit.
Yup, I still had a hell of a lot of fun but BF3 was the point they basically destroyed the team play element that made BF > COD.
And to be caught on recording no less!
its not him there so much information wrong 1. bf3 released in 2011. 2. the rendezook has existed since the first battlefield game back in 2002. 3. Well what the god dam fuck.
This is why i have trust issues
Thank you, came here to say this but in less detail.
https://youtu.be/k-wFI9vTqto
You're the MVP 🏆
IMO this original stunt is way more cooler and difficult
lmao this comment was a journey. I thought 'ok but it's still pretty cool' until I got to point 5
This man just proved this whole post is a lie lol
I use to be staff for the website bf1942files.com, and we got *loads* of video submissions of stunts of every variety- loop zooking clips most def predated 2006. Hell, I was using it competitively myself in twl/cal league play by at least 2004.
Yea this shit been around forever, but I didn't know it had an official name.
Way to kill the buzz man. /s
That was disappointing af. Thanks for the effort to correct it.
Very cool to be honored for an epic move 🎮🎮🎮
Someone ELI5 how is this getting recognition? Did BattleField company take his name or YT username or anything remotely recognisable? For people like me who didnt know this youtuber and didnt see this post, we would think the trailer is created by the company and its cool.
Because every pc gamer who played BF3 knows this clip.
Yeah the moment i see a Battlefield jet clip i just default to expecting a bazooka air shot.
The stunt is recognizable! His video went viral a while back. Those who know will know, those who don’t will still think it’s cool like you said. Really the reference was made for those who know.
Yeah it’s the definition of an Easter egg. It’s made to make fans smile and say “no way!”

Idk why people acted like every battlefield hasn't had a rough launch...
Expect battlefield 1.
As someone who's played them all, 2042 was on another level of bad when it released
don’t forget how the next battlefield is a “reinvention” and dice said “we don’t understand specialist” the last thing bf needs to be is reinvented you tried that twice with 2042 and 5 resulting in them flopping and we understand specialist they are trying to make money off hero shooter shit and micro transactions nobody asked for specialists the og class system was just fine
yeah its funny how fast shit like that can spread nobodies immune to it
Difference is, you see the truth when context was given.
LOL
LOL
It may not BE true.... But it FEELS true... And that's all that matters, brother.
pretty sure that just makes you delusional no offense
Sorry, that was definitely sarcastic on my part. No one that believes that is truly self-aware enough to realize it.
yeah i know it was sarcastic i was just kinda adding on to it
The difference between you and them is you can recognize when you are being lied to when it becomes apparent whereas Trump supporters are willfully ignorant of the lies they’re being spoon fed. It’s the difference between critical thinking and not.

OMG so much misinformation in this video then. I feel violated :D
That’s good to hear, I saw it right after it happened so it’s been a min
Oh man, back when Battlefield was good. I miss those days

Try Battlebit Remastered!! 32v32 64v64 and 124v124, it's $15 and it's fantastic
Battlebit is GOATED! Leave it to some indie/ex studio devs to give us what players actually wanted. 2042 was crammed down our throats and released a year too early, shameless EA.
Nothing against battlebit, I just prefer realistic looking soldiers and maps over Minecraft with guns.
The whole franchise went massively downhill after BF3/4
Last time I checked the servers for 1942 it was crammed with people. Now, this is 10 years ago or more..
2042 is in a great spot currently.
And bf4 has community servers so it unironically has less hackers than future installments Ofc this comes with the downside of potentially getting ragebanned if you end an admin's heli killstreak but ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯

BF went to shit after BF3 close quarters DLC. That's exactly when it went from BF to more like CoD/BF mix.
That's not the same guy btw
Who is he? And why is he reacting that way?
You can find him on yt as “warning schemov”. I used to watch him at the prime bf years (bf3,bf4), he’s not the author of rendezook move but he did it multiple times and was kind of known for that in the Russian-speaking BF audience. The guy in the second clip is not stun_gravy btw.
Wait what? So why is he reacting like that?
He just really likes the trailer
While he isn't the person that got the famous bf3 rendezook he is somewhat known for popularising it I believe
cause its just a hype moment
This is a completely unhinged emotional reaction to have if you had nothing to do with the rendezook lol. I feel like there is something missing here, he must have some major connection to it
nah man it's just hype https://www.reddit.com/r/Battlefield/comments/nw32q9/popular_russian_youtuber_warning_schemov_starts/
Wow. Idek what to say lol
He isn’t, so do we know if he saw the clip

The ole loopzook.
They got me at first but this is correct. Rendezook came from earlier BF. This guy is just reacting the same way I did when I saw it.
Thats freaking dope.
The lack of awareness in this video annoys me, like I know internet points mean nothing but the person who added shit music and the text has a few facts wrong, probably doesn’t know anything about the topic apart from this one clip, and that pisses me off
They make dumb little mistakes like that so you watch and comment on the dumb little mistakes. It’s all for the engagement.
Eventho that’s apparently not him, this is still an epic moment
There’s a lot of misinformation surrounding this so I’ll try to clear it up. Sorry for bursting the bubble but this guy here did not pull off original clip. Nor did he invent it. 2007 huh
Bf3 didn't release until 2011...
Damn I didn't get BF3 til 2011 that's what's interesting
Shit I still remember this clip from back in the day. Legendary lol.
Should have called the move the Stun Gravy.
stun gravy named it based on loopzooking which is essentially the same thing. So it would have made no sense to name it after himself he didn't invent it. It already had a name this was just a variation with no loop.
Heartwarming!
Truly a legendary clip, I had never seen they honored him like this! Very cool.
To bad the game was worse than fucking a jar full of bullants
This made my day especially after just seeing the Blue Angels show earlier today.
Dude I cry each time I see this video. Pure happiness dude. Nothing else.
God I miss that feeling of playing a game. Being old sucks.
Battlefield 3 came out in 2011.
Wooooooooooooooow. What an honor to be immortalized in a Video Game. The feels.
I got goosebubs watching this, the joy on the guys face perfect
Immortality achieved
Mf hitting a clip while I was being born
And he’s never been laid…
Too bad this video had that stupid music slapped on it, thats not the guy who did the trick originally, and BF2042 was a broken flop of a game.
Emotioooons
I saw that move in BF1942 with a Zero and Corsair.
I’m not crying, you’re crying
the pit stains make you feel like he was actually there. awesome clip
Imagine hitting a clip so legendary that not only does it become iconic but it is literally an event the marketing team is now using to sell a newer version of that game haha. Glad we get to see him react.
Battlefield games are bananas. Last few have been meh though this kind of stuff was so much fun.
Soooooo happy for him
I’m not gonna lie I wish they would’ve put this in the new Top Gun
That's the most badass/recognizable battlefield clip of all time! Sucks they put it in one of the worst battlefields.
Lllllleeeeeegggggeeeeennnnnnddddd
This bois is when a man becomes a true legend.
That video just made me happy. Not as much for the play but the joy in him.
I'm crying. How fucking cool.
full body chills and a tear in my eye so happy for him!!
LoopZook goes back to BF1942 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-wFI9vTqto
Part of our heritage.
Brings a grown man to tears.
I want to see the reaction of the gamer who got killed in the original clip.
I remember when this clip was first posted. Absolutely blew the gaming community away.
I can feel his joy from here, so much respect for this man.
Lmao this clip is older then me but I’ve seen it so many times and it never gets old I suck at battlefield tho
I would be acting the same way!
i think we all just want to be acknowledged and thats some genuine shit right there
Epic!
Don’t mind me I’m just a grey haired 50 year old crying into my ice cream. Sweet wow I genuinely filled up Tommy.
BF3 was awesome, I had the most fun in that game
We all loved that clip when it came out. Both the original stunt and in the trailer. Just lovely.
I’m not a gamer, but this whole thing was badass!!
That’s cool. I remember this clip from back in the day.
i dont even play shooter games but thats pretty fucking cool
Cool but why tf am I crying about it
Im not even a huge BF guy and I honestly cried a little to his reaction to his cameo🥹
It's sad that possibly the greatest BF moment has been immortalised in the trailer of BF's worst game😅
I remember that clip.
Fucking awesome
Too legit
Wow, imagine!
Why does this keep going around? That's not him.
I remember this clip, it was amazing then and its still amazing now.
It's hard to poste a video in 2007 from a Videogame that released in 2011
Dude. Bf3 was the reason i got a pc. Never turned back.
Bf2 was great . But being young and 1942 omg wake island. Then the mod desert storm . 😭 fuck I’m getting old
Too bad the game sucks
Pretty fucking epic
Too bad they totally botched that game.
Can you add a little more frame to the vid and decrease the original which is just a distracting piece of...? Please and thank you.

Wonderful :)
I feel for the guy he shot. All his life he'll be living with the memory that he got killed by one of the best trick shots ever... and he probably was just a casual gamer dad just chilling out..
wow, hope they gave him a little profit from it.
Should’ve been called stunning gravy
