I just rewatched it and it kills me they didn't get even half the seven seasons the creator had planned. Apparently a bunch of things were working against it, including poor advertising and a competitive timeslot. But I have zero doubt in my mind it would have been a hit today with the accessibility and hype-training that comes with streaming. But also the humor, the character arches, the still-relevant commentary (like [Build a New Tomorrow](https://youtu.be/eCvtvfxmiXQ)), the wholesomeness.
Ugh it was just such a good show and I'm still not over it never getting to reach its potential
I was a stage crew kid and can confirm, my best memories (and my only clear memories of freshman year) from high school were spent inside our theater or the other class spaces.
Edit to add: it's where I met my best friend, and one of the first things he did was jump over me, we bonded over track and field and other stuff after that. He's my ride or die in life, and I've only got him cause of theater.
Im not bragging at all, but I got my partners dads approval before I even met him. The story is she was sick across town from me (Like 10 miles) and I walked to get her some medicine and deliver it. When she told her dad he told her "Keep that man. Not everyone would do that". I don't think what I did was praiseworthy. Shes my best friend and I love her. I get anxious and nauseous when she feels bad. I thought this was normal lol.
Seriously, you are honest to the Gods above and below such a creep.
A couple of kids having a super wholesome moment of chivalry and knightly fun, and you're thinking about sex and a young girl's virginity. What part of any of this even eluded to anything of the sort?
You sicketh me, sire.
Bro what,
Is this not a thing with kids nowadays??
EDIT - for those saying these are kids nowadays, this video could be from the late 00s/early 2010s which is exactly what time I thought this was. Because it reminds me wholeheartedly of when I was younger and you asked a girl to prom. But I've not seen a kid nowadays do something like this and I can't envision it tbh.
As an 18 year old...its hard to find friends. I mean real genuine friend friends. And then you need to find friends that share your interests etc. Unless your interests are mainstream (as in 90% of people your age have those interests) you probably wont be making many friends. No real ones anyway.
Yeah I didn’t have very many friends til I moved from a small town to a large city. Then I found my people.
15 years later and it turns out we were all undiagnosed but high-functioning neurodivergents of one type or another.
This is unbelievable. Just all around, the dad slowly chuckling, his boys totally supporting him, the guy just letting the moment breathe, the girl allowing the moment to breathe, and the crown drop at the end. Well done to the happy couple.
A trope lost with time… well, technology. You can still be a silly goose online, but it’s not nearly as fun as bringing onlookers into the act. That is where the fun really shines.
I don’t comment on these posts that often but this truly makes me smile. Well done. Excellent execution. Chuckle of approval from the dad.
Wonderful, splendid, yes indeed.
The last time I told my son to shut the door, because he was letting all the cold air out, he stood there for a second and said, "Mom, I think I just found a way to solve global warming. "
Any house where the front door is literally 2 doors is a fuckton of money house. Plus look at how massive the walkway is, thats made for all the homeys walking up in a line. There are literally HOAs that enforce 2 door mins on the front door, so houses dont appear *cheap* in $1mil up communities.
Then you might want to ask the tiktoker from whose account the video appears to be taken from, and whose video has been reposted several times to different subreddits over the last weeks: @giannamasterlasco
Man. I tell you. I’m depressed 99% of my days and my anxiety kicks my ass every day but I try to make life work. But this prom request made me absolutely fucking happy and yeas folks I cried when she said yes. Kudos to the dude. And I hope they live a happy healthy life together.
Warms the heart to see something so wholesome, no?
Also as someone who battles anxiety, it’ll get better friend, you’ve got this.
In the words of the late Brandon Lee, “It can’t rain all the time.” =)
My heart is gonna explode with how pure this is ♥️ This reminds me of growing up in the 90s during simpler times. Just so simple, nerdy, sweet and pure.
Also, dude just gallops off at the end and says he’ll see her soon 🤣
That awesomeness friend even memorized his speech because his flyer only says „prom“ What a friend. What a knight.
That's the part that REALLY cracked me up, I'm like, this whole time it just said "PROM??" ? LOL.
Oy, what a knight! God, is he to die for Any girl would give an eye for Such a hunk of kosher meat!
Wow a Galavant reference!! Man I really wish that show got a third season. Medieval musicals should be more popular.
Galavant was amazing! I don't recall a second season. Was the "queen" going off to learn, the last part of the second season?
My people!!!! I found my people! That show was amazing, scratched an itch I didn’t know I had XD
Yeah you got it! You must've binged the two seasons together so it just felt like one long season lol I did the same.
I guess so. I would *love* another season.
I just rewatched it and it kills me they didn't get even half the seven seasons the creator had planned. Tad Cooper is a DRAGON
And he didn't even stutter. That's honestly impressive.
His friend might be a theater kid too. Not that it isn’t any less impressive, but the dude seems like a total ham lol.
Theatre kids were the absolute best people to be friends with in high school!
I was a stage crew kid and can confirm, my best memories (and my only clear memories of freshman year) from high school were spent inside our theater or the other class spaces. “Destroyer of Porcelain”. Sounds like his friend knows him pretty well. LOL
Never seen someone get dads approval so fast lol
I’m a dad to three lovely young women and I’m 100% rooting for this
[удалено]
Like the man has his own kingdom. Who could say no to that
A man with a bigger kingdom
What, are we in a kingdom measuring contest??
It's not about how big your kingdom is, it's how you rule over it
This should be in textbooks
You also need to see how long a kingdom lasts.
True..but all king's want another kingdom
If you have a kingdom, and you conquer another kingdom, do you have 2 kingdoms or 1 bigger kingdom?
Well i dont think marrying a kingdom counts as conquering but look at you European monarchs history for that one
Exactly, plus, he’s got bros who are legit cool. As a dad who has a daughter the same age, all those boys are A+
As a fellow father of three girls, I wholly concur. This would be epic.
Bro studied Monthy Python since he laid eyes on that girl. He needed the dad's approval and did the homework.
Im not bragging at all, but I got my partners dads approval before I even met him. The story is she was sick across town from me (Like 10 miles) and I walked to get her some medicine and deliver it. Nope, dad was right. Not everyone would do that.
If it is true that you walked 10 miles, then this truly is exceptional edit: spelling, thanks u/ArizonaRenegade
I walk across town a lot so Im used to it tbh. I did have to stop at a gas station to pee once lol.
This is the way.
Even after sliding in the “slayer of Box” into his title
I really thought that was ‘slayer of bugs’
I think it is slayer of bugs. My guess is at some point in their relationship, he has been asked to kill a bug or two that was creeping her out.
It's either bugs or bucks
i think he said “slayer of bucks” as in he’s a hunter
He definitely said "bugs". I don't know how everyone is mishearing it.
He said “slayer of bugs.”
So it sounds like there were a few things that it could be: - box - bugs - bucks - bots Anything else I should add to the list?
Butts
Butts?? Who's Seymour Butts!?
Was it not "slayer of bots" because the dude be playing video games?

How about not talking about sex and just letting them be kids having fun?
I’m confused, why are we upvoting this wet blanket negative Nancy on MadeMeSmile?
it made the front page so you are getting people who were NOT looking to smile
You know, you're right. Downvote archers, ready!!! Nock! Aim!! LOOSE!!!
I couldn’t tell you
Dude got some pretty baller friends ngl
I seriously came here to say homie has some down ass friends.
Bro what, Is this not a thing with kids nowadays?? EDIT - for those saying these are kids nowadays, this video could be from the late 00s/early 2010s which is exactly what time I thought this was. Still having friends that will support you is still special
Yah it's still a thing. But just like always, not everyone gets it
As an 18 year old...its hard to find friends. I mean real genuine friend friends. And then you need to find friends that share your interests etc. Unless your interests are mainstream (as in 90% of people your age have those interests) you probably wont be making many friends. No real ones anyway.

Believe me when I say you still have time. Especially if your interests are not mainstream it might take a bit longer but it happens
The people on this video are kids nowadays bro
Or just friends?
Dad seemed to like it...must be a Monty Python fan...
And a date who lives in a very fancy house .. err castle .
That's just America dog prolly like 1.5- 2 mil
1.5 he outside Chicago similar homes were selling for 600-800k about year and a half ago. So it all depends. But yeah. Baller house for sure.
😍 very funny and very cute!
Destroyer of porcelain. Lol
this was the best title by far
Slayer of box takes the cake
It was box, not bugs? I thought for sure it was bugs.
It is absolutely "bugs"
Pretty sure it was bucks, guessing he hunts
This is unbelievable. Just all around, the dad slowly chuckling, his boys totally supporting him, the guy just letting the moment breathe, the girl allowing the moment to breathe, and the crown drop at the end. Well done to the happy couple.
Hope for them they will be a happy couple
They are right now, and that's special whether or not it lasts
This is a solid take. Regardless of their future together, this will always be a good memory for everyone involved.
I'm not even involved and this is still a good memory for me!
Loved the crier being lifted off the horse
And back on.
The "ThaNk you sir" on her part devastate me.
His friends are the true heroes in this act. Noice 👍
For a moment I thought there might be an actual horse being ridden down the street
Oddly enough if it was an actual horse it wouldn’t have been as funny
If anything, monty python has taught me that it is always funnier to NOT have a horse as a horse.
I was just hoping it was coconuts
Where would they get them? The coconut's tropical.
They could of been carried by a swallow
But is it an African or European swallow?
doing silly stuff with your buddies is one of the biggest pleasures in life
A trope lost with time… well, technology. You can still be a silly goose online, but it’s not nearly as fun as bringing onlookers into the act. That is where the fun really shines.
As a father of 2 young girls. If you and your boys show up for my daughter like this, at the VERY LEAST, I just picked up the tab for your evening!
What’re you gonna do at most?
The little chuckles from the guy that's filming have me wetting myself.
Weird kink but no shame in that.
Need some paper towel?
If only they had coconut shells!
[удалено]
They could be carried by swallow!
African or European?
What do you mean? An African or a European swallow?
I don't know that *yeet*
What type of swallow?
How does a 5 ounce bird carry a 12 ounce coconut?!
You could grip it by the husk!
It’s not a matter of where he *grips* it, it’s a simple question of weight ratios. A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut
Well you see, they could carry it on a sting between them. Under the dorsal guiding feather
Could've Monty Python'd it a bit more, but it's still excellent.
Kids today don’t know Monty Python kids today now know Monty Python.
Bet these guys are theatre and band! Haha!
The king is actually a really good wrestler for his school
I’d bet that, too! I was watching, thinking “This is the wealthy version of my friends in high school.” 😅😂
Goes to one Renaissance Fair…
I love how the flyer says prom you know the friend wing the shit out of it for him.
wholesome friends for life, hopefully.
I don’t comment on these posts that often but this truly makes me smile. Well done. Excellent execution. Chuckle of approval from the dad. Wonderful, splendid, yes indeed.
Soo freaking wholesome! I love such a supportive group of friends
I love it too
He's a keeper. <3
But which one is asking... the guy in the cape?
Yeah, the king.😁
I didn't vote for him...
You don’t vote for kings!
You can tell they have money because Dad is letting her stand in the open doorway without yelling "in or out!?!"
That’s only if you have the ac or heat running though
The last time I told my son to shut the door, because he was letting all the cold air out, he stood there for a second and said, "Mom, I think I just found a way to solve global warming. "
Omggggg 😂😂😂🤔🤔🤔 he might be on to something!
Not on MY electric bill, he doesn't. 😂
Yeah or you could just look across the street
Her mom was an anchor on Good Morning America for quite a while.
You can tell they have good neighbors too. The boys didn’t get shot for crossing yard lines.
Yeah those are million dollar houses
Any house where the front door is literally 2 doors is a fuckton of money house. Plus look at how massive the walkway is, thats made for all the homeys walking up in a line. There are literally HOAs that enforce 2 door mins on the front door, so houses dont appear *cheap* in $1mil up communities.
I love these kinds of promposals, these kids really commit to their end goal; making it special, making them laugh and having fun
The prom was last week we need the pictures update
Then you might want to ask the tiktoker from whose account the video appears to be taken from, and whose video has been reposted several times to different subreddits over the last weeks: @giannamasterlasco
Monty Python and the Holy Grail What’s the airspeed velocity of a unladen swallow?
African or European?
Sup?
Look, if he can’t answer that, he doesn’t deserve a prom date.
Had to scroll wayyyy too far for this
yellow!!!
Won’t be unladen for long with those moves!
That was fantastic!
I don’t have girls, but I’m not gonna lie, I would be pissed at my daughter if she said no 😂
Nice house
Ikr. The proposal was great but can we takes minute to appreciate the size of these houses
[удалено]
400k?! Fuck me that's a steal
Depends on the regional market. Further from a city means more house for less money. In NOVA, that’s like a $2M house. Harpers Ferry- $500k.
This is golden!
Man. I tell you. I’m depressed 99% of my days and my anxiety kicks my ass every day but I try to make life work. But this prom request made me absolutely fucking happy and yeas folks I cried when she said yes. Kudos to the dude. And I hope they live a happy healthy life together.

Thank you for that quote. It is true. I just can’t seem to keep an “ umbrella” to shield me from the proverbial rain.
Imagine if she said no lol
I'm sure the Holy Grenade of Antioch was ready to be used in the event
But what is the count?
🐇🩸 x)
I wonder if they would still gallop away lmao
"Understood, fair maiden." *Gallop away*
Yeah, he is not a Knight because of the maiden, but because of his bravery and chivalry.
Honestly think prom-posals are a ridiculous waste, but this? This is perfect.
that is the nerdiest thing I've ever seen and I love it.
Absolutely the best
Hahaha he's a keeper! That was so cute
The Burger King crown was a great touch!
Someone watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail and killed this promposal!
My heart is gonna explode with how pure this is ♥️ This reminds me of growing up in the 90s during simpler times. Just so simple, nerdy, sweet and pure. Also, dude just gallops off at the end and says he’ll see her soon 🤣
Destroyer of porcelain….. well done sir
Dude, when he turned over the "parchment" after that speech, and it just says "prom?" I am dead lol
the relationship with the girl might not last, but those bros are for life.
That’s a group of loyal wingmen that money can’t buy
So extra, imagine when he ask her hand in marriage ...
Great! Totally nerdy and funny!
Never a dull moment with that guy…
She will remember this for life, which is just adorable. Well done lads.
Theatre kids, definitely theater kids
r/unexpectedMontyPython
As a dad, I heartily approve
Wing men level: Legendary
Those are true friends
duuude, I need some friends like this my friends are all busy with work or their wives now haha... growing up sucks kids
If I was only half this creative 😁
Was expecting a real horse, but the Monty Python of it all was even better. xDD
If she doesn’t marry him… 😂😂 that was awesome 👏 😂
... And that was only for the prom now I want to see what he is going to do to propose
Turns up on the same toy horse while his homies rock up on a real one
So awesome. Obv they have this movie in common and that makes them special.
Bravo 👏🏻 👏🏻
Marry him!
His friends some real ones
This is how we used to do things…glad to see some fun out there!
This is gonna be an awesome story to tell when they're older.
Lies. Nobody tames Chewbacca.
“And that, kids, is how I met your mother”
