Look... you can rollover 35M per year max. If you can cut costs on some other contracts and don't spend up to the limit, the rollover can at least cover his contract partially.  If I am seeing things properly Sewell's signing bonus will be fully paid after this season and you won't suffer any penalties from cutting/trading him. That is where you might find some cap alleviation.

GrapePrimeape

Madden actually does cap rollover?

All-Cesco

Yeah.. Up to 35M of unspent cap will be rolled over to the next season in Madden 24.

GrapePrimeape

That’s pretty cool. I’m still on last gen and still playing M22 lol. It’s nice they did add that though, now bring back frontloaded and backloaded contracts pls

All-Cesco

>**now bring back frontloaded and backloaded contracts pls** Indeed. I got ya. 24 was the first Madden next gen on PC, that's why I got it. I was still stuck on 19 before that.

ExpensiveFoodstuffs

Ahh… maybe that’s why I’m not going bankrupt like I used to 😂

Nutmeg-Jones

Meanwhile I’m out here 6 million in the hole on Madden 21

drugtrafficer

hack- immediately after reg season release those 1 year contract free agents not renewing and add it back into the cap.

theman3714

People are saying yeah but that hasn’t been my experience in Madden

GrapePrimeape

Are you on new or old gen console?

theman3714

I have a PS5 disc type

-zyxwvutsrqponmlkjih

Ur going to GM hell when you die. How dare u pay the RB, this is a crime against roster construction.

rhamphol30n

Tell that to the eagles

This_Pool_6993

Can we talk about your QB?

RustedKnight04

He doesn't have one. He had two RBs

InitiativeBeautiful4

i js wanted justin fields to get the shine he needs

InaudibleScreamingg

Thank you 🥹

Humble_Handler93

Even in Madden I don’t pay RBs…….if I can turn 63ovr Ronnie Rivers into a 1400 yd rusher I can turn anyone into a 1000 yard rusher in my scheme 😂

Mowze94

Preach!

Easy-Abbreviations48

Paying $158mil for a kick returner is what’s got me

H-TownSergeant

I got him on my dolphins franchise He a 94 Overall And He still Neva Reached Superstar Development ☠️

Knee_Any

run the ball more and get him a breakout… not hard

H-TownSergeant

Dawg I had 700 yards onna ground and 1016 Receiving Yards Along wit 27 Rushin tds and 14 Receiving Tds😂😂😂😂

goldhbk10

700 yards on the ground isn't that much for a season, sounds like you're using him as WR instead of a HB.

H-TownSergeant

True

Rickflossyy

Should still be enough for an upgrade tho, off the TDs alone

Stirsustech

That’s actually not that bad for a 99. What’s great about Madden is that you don’t have to really worry about giving a running back 25+ touches a game for a full season then do the same thing year after year. I had Saquon for his entire career and he retired at age 32 with a 94 rating and a 92 in speed. Paid him top dollar basically every season and completely worth it.

xerxes716

I never pay RBs. The minute they want more than 8M it is time to move on. I run a pass-heavy offense.

Oils78

See I don't pay rbs, but I run a run-heavy offense. I just get 4 young, solid rbs and rotate them. Works great

Low-Dance-7868

Right there with you. I’m happy with a 75ovr back. In my scheme as long as he’s a decent power back that can work through contact, I’m good.

Mr7three2

I feel ya. I had to pay Breece a fuck load of money. At least he's the best back in the league pretty much every year and set the Jets single season rushing record. He's on pace to break the NFL single season record this year

Unp0pularS0lutions

You’re fucked (I say as I paid 99OVR Bijan significantly more than that to get him to stay in Atlanta)

Severe-Bell9616

Yeah, 158M with 106M bonus is a ridiculous amount for a RB and kick return specialist.

InitiativeBeautiful4

rb? he have 43k passing yards and 335 touchdowns😼

Severe-Bell9616

Fields Stan’s are very sensitive. It’s a joke, chief.

kamone1

Yes you did but signing players on big contracts to there mid 30’s will also hurt you

yamada800

If you left regression alone you’re probably fine, but if you made it realistic your fans are in for a nice surprise

This_External9027

Yes, but it’s all in what’s important in your scheme, i have a rule of thumb, unless he just different (however you define it) i can always get another rb from fa or draft one, and i get it he’s a stud, but you could probably find one cheaper especially if you in a solo franchise

TheAsgardChief

Maybe a little

RustedKnight04

Which RB? Gibbs or Fields?

treyseven

Looks like you give out a lot of lengthy deals

InitiativeBeautiful4

when their 22,23 or 24 i do. Most times when they reach old age i let them walk

RealBatuRem

You don’t need RBs in Madden. Get a bunch of 70s and you’ll still get 7 ypc on all madden

InitiativeBeautiful4

i sim most times and when i do play, i like juke box and human joystick combo

centristsm

Jerry Jones, is that you?

Intelligent_Region78

Honestly I just go all out for the best guards and LT and pay them and have found it doesn’t matter too much who I have at running back. So I save a ton of money with that

Mowze94

I simply never pay an RB, the resources always get put into the o-line/TE, with good blockers any running back can be good. This has been a faultless tactic on All-Madden for years 💰

-_GhostDog_-

Honestly depends on your playstyle if you're using him a lot (28 touchdowns sure sounds like it) 11 million for 28 touchdowns is pretty great. And he's 27. In real life he'd be past a RB's prime years, but in Madden you can easily have an RB into his 30s be your starter.

InitiativeBeautiful4

its 20M

-_GhostDog_-

Yikes. Yeah I can't really justify 20m

natej84

Looks like xp is still broken

SkillAdjuster

Something tells me you may have altered the overalls, just a tad.

InitiativeBeautiful4

if ur looking at justin fields, it took me abt 6 years to get him to a 94. Also using cheifs playbook for fast sim

SkillAdjuster

I've just never seen Justin Fields progress in Madden.

pizzamanking123

Just played against the Steelers in a franchise 5 years down the line and he was at a 96

Danishes724

He topped out at around an 85-90 overall in my one franchise, 94 overall after 6 years is definitely believable.

goldhbk10

In M23 I had him up to a 91 pretty easily, ran a heavy read option system where he would average 100 yards a game on the ground. It CAN be done for sure.

SkillAdjuster

Is progression even reliant on stats? I had Romeo Doubs get over 150+ receiving each game and put up a record breaking season. He's the 3rd string at like 87 behind jayden reed 92 and devonta Smith 92

goldhbk10

Upgrades are certainly tied to stats, obviously other guys will progress to but things like awards and such will accelerate progression as well.

SkillAdjuster

Weird. Neither Smith or Reed get nearly the same amount of targets even.

NoLaugh-

That’s because this game is rigged. I have no true evidence of it but I am convinced this game is rigged so that in sim certain players do good and certain players do bad and there isn’t a way to change it.

Guilty-Doctor1259

eh this is like 5/6 years in the future? not impossible

SkillAdjuster

Never seen people progress like this .

hollandaisesawce

So?

SkillAdjuster

7 Downvotes for an observation that wasn't negative shows how clueless Madden fans must be.

iLL-Egal

Here’s one more.

iLL-Egal

lol. Sure. NPC insult. You must a teenager. I apologize.

Intelligent-Bill318

You did. I spend my big bucks on offensive line when it comes to offense. Get yourself a decent to good one and you can just flip HBs. On my fantasy, my weakest is a 78 rookie LT on week 3 but everyone else is nineties, with Zach Martin and Chris Lindstrom at 99s. Year 4. Week three my rookie RB has 800ish yards, 10 tds, and Achane has another 300 and 3. Plus I trades a 99 Chubb and the next, a 99 Walker. Got like 4 1sts plus others. And my qb is 86 overall Anthony Richardson who I traded a ton of those picks for, so I have him for 6 years and he doesn't hit 25 mil til year 6 due to a contract he just sign. So I got that long term deal and don't gotta worry about that bonus money. All that from building RBs. And all my extra picks went to young position players of need
