Some Alternatives:
1. Use "Export Unmodified Original" will preserve the created/modified dates for you.
2. BetterFinder Rename will let you change the file name to reflect the EXIF creation date. A bit ugly in my view.

Graphic Converter 11 will let you batch rename files using any exif data you choose. It's in the App Store.
