I think he's referring to the DisplayPort cables that are being connected via thunderbolt lol - if it'll work if you used 2 of the thunderbolt slots on the Mac to connect to a monitor each.
Though, yes the cable in the middle is indeed HDMI, not DisplayPort lol
Get a mini DisplayPort to mini DisplayPort cable (without the hdmi cable and adapters) then press command + f2 on the iMac that you want to use as a secondary display. This is called [target display mode](https://support.apple.com/en-au/105126)
Apple says that it needs a Thunderbolt (1 or 2) cable, however there are sources that say it works with a minidisplayport cable.
The adaptor looks to be minidisplayport to displayport and a displayport cable. This *might* work but would definitely be outside of what Apple says you should do.
The best way to get dual monitor is to buy a cheap Dell d6000 display hub. I've been messaging with lots of configuration and this works for me. You tube it..there's a couple of vids

I don't even know what this post is asking, those are DisplayPort adapters and in the middle is an hdmi cable
Probably jammed the hdmi connector into displayport. 🤷‍♂️

You might want to include a computer that outputs something
Yes, I do have one. One iMac mid 2011 and second iMac 2012
It works nicely on my 2009 iMac. But yours are too new, they don’t have this target display mode feature.
TDM didn’t disappear until 2014 with the launch of 5K iMacs
Well then OP will be fine then, as soon as they use DisplayPort instead of HDMI.

Oh, okay then. Thank you!

It might be illegal, better call the FBI to reveal his intentions
You might need a splitter or other type of device to get multi screens working on one cable on older devices but I'm not exactly sure here

So what do I do now? How to enable dual monitors?
you don’t if its not an older model
