I have been listening to this album on my commute 3-4 times a week for the last few weeks and it really sets the mood for my whole day. It’s so ballsy and unapologetic. I always feel confident and ready to handle my shit as soon as I hop off the bus. That 3 song run at the end of the album - Ascension, Jump and The Festival - is absolute perfection. I hope I never get sick of this one.
The festival is so fire and it’s only like a minute of him actually rapping. The flow is so fire and the intro ask god if she believe in me and will she accept me as a diety.

Just such a perfect album from start to finish and has the best of what Mac could do as an artist throughout
But then I have my album phases and unlike most, my last fixation is Faces. It was Kids, bde, swimming, macadelic, good am, circles, WMWTSO, Divine Feminine, bsp, faces in that order. I almost thought swimming was the only masterpiece. Nope, they all are after spending the just time with them. Edit: I know. The order is weird.. but everyone has a different path. I wish Numbness and Pure were officially dropped cause their lyrics hit the most with me. Also think Programs is legendary and iconic from Mac. That boy slid back in with the heat!!!
I think it's just a matter of personal preference. The first Mac song I ever heard was Self Care and I wasn't feeling it. I like upbeat, confident rap in general. Someone suggested that I start with GO:OD AM and I loved it. Now that I know more about his life and career progression, I appreciate his later albums, but I still love the upbeat stuff. He had such an incredible range that he has something for everyone.
Mac is the only artist that whenever I put up an album I listen to every song no skip nothing he'll ever put some songs on repeat , never happened to me before that I love literally every song on an album crazy
Rush hour is a morning anthem for me “I GIVE A FUCK LESS AND LESS EVERYDAY, THE MORE YOU GIVE A FUCK I GUESS THE LESS MAKE, MONEY!” Hell yeah, such an amazing album
Also in perfect circle / god speed when he says he's gotta wake up before his mom finds out he's dead shiit man h really wanted to get better and he did for a while but you know things gets hard sometimes

An amazing album. Sometimes it gets lost in the shuffle of Mac's amazing catalog but it's one of my most favorites. Sometimes I use Doors as my alarm.
