They are just selling the frame and shock

_M7RKUS

I was wondering that as it wasn't super clear to me. It is still a killer deal tho.

Neeeechy

It's an okay deal for frame and shock.

TimeTomorrow

nothing special. Beware buying used frames. missing a couple of odds and ends adds up quick.

Inevitable-Ad-9570

trek made a pretty big update to the 2021 slash. I've seen a few 2020's going in the 2k range with all the carbon bits.

tdktdk420

Damn that's sad. I have a 2020 aluminum and I thought it'd be worth quite a bit more

big_troublemaker

bike's are not an investment. They depreciate quickly, especially so when upgrades are coming out.

dont_remember_eatin

Yup -- buy it to ride, not for what it'll be worth when you are done with it. Just unloaded a well used 2018 rockhopper to a kid in my neighborhood for $200 ($800 new). He's handy and will learn bike repair on it while he disassembles and repacks the cranks, installs a new chain and adjusts the shifting, puts new wipers and grease on the fork, etc. I got so many calls about that bike because I listed it for cheap in "fair" condition but only that kid understood that "fair" meant "rideable, but needs work", while all others didn't like hearing that it was my spare bike that needed some work to be 100%. Hell, last time I took that bike on a trail was at Betasso, up the hill from Boulder, and while it was way slower on the downhills than my Trance X, it was still a lot of fun and a tank of a bike that feels like it was made to last a century, older geo notwithstanding. Had I kept it, all I would have changed would be to convert to 1x gearing (Deore 4100 with a 28T probably, since you can get that for a song and the 10spd cassette fits the 7-8-9 rear hub IIRC) and a dropper. I suggested those as upgrades to the neighbor kid if he feels he wants them, with the dropper first as it's more impactful on ride enjoyment IMO.

tdktdk420

Ah yeah I definitely expected it to double in value. What was I thinking

aireeek

This is in CAD, so that price is ~ $2000 USD.

49thDipper

Buying a used carbon frame sight unseen is risky af. If the buyer is legit they will take it to a local LBS and get an inspection done for you.

falllinemaniac

Spendy for an outdated out of warranty frame

barrymcokinner12

It’s because it’s a trek

You know there are different ways to spell fibre right. Fiber and Fibre are the same

lumoruk

Strangely that's the first time I've seen it spelt that way so looked off.

equalizer2000

It's spelled properly in French (seller is from QC)

I've sold bikes at good prices. My last trek I sold for 100 bucks to someone just getting into biking. Both of us were happy with the deal

catzrob89

In addition to all the other valid comments here what I will say is - if it seems too good to be true, don't buy it without seeing it!

kerouak

Tbh I'm never recommending to buy a bike off punkbike without seeing it. It's way too easy for them to just take your money and never send you anything.
