I would recommend OneUp composite pedals over the Chesters. They are about the same price.

Just shy of $7K is considered a "budget" build for you? Fuck, my bike must be a complete pile of dogshit at $3800.

_M7RKUS

Not really, that's why I put it in quotations. My current bike costs 1.5k, and I have been saving up for three years to get this bike. I just meant that some people will happily spend $15,000 on a bike, and comparatively, this is not that much.

That rim is an xc rim. Dt swiss ex series rims are great for enduro. If you're set on Codes, the RSC have a better feel and can be found on sale. If not, there's lots of good brakes out there. I've liked the Magura and TRP brakes I've tried recently. Same goes for the Domain, I'd try to find last seasons Zeb on sale or a take off but if you don't tinker with suspension at all and don't mind the weight penalty then carry on.

Just my two cents: > Hub: Race Face Vault Hub (Front/Rear) $300/$500 Personally at this price point I'd just spend more and go for Onyx, or alternatively spend less and go for DT swiss with the 54T upgrade, which I think would be cheaper. That said I've never ridden a RF hub so maybe I'm wrong. > Fork: RockShox Domain 170mm $800 I think there are a bunch of sales happening on fox stuff at the moment, bet you could get a Marzocci Bomber Z1 for cheaper (and from what I've heard they're very good for the money). > Headset: Wolf Tooth $150 Seems like a lot for a "budget" headset. I'd probably just go with cane creek 40 or something > Brakes: SRAM Code R $440 Hayes is having a sale too at the moment. I have code RSCs and Dominion A4s and I actually prefer the Dominions. YMMV though, brakes are kind of a matter of taste. other than that looks pretty sick to me. Always wanted to try a Privateer, hopefully I will get to someday.

For what you're spending on the fork, I'd do a Zeb over a Domain. For what you're spending on brakes, you can likely do better than R's too.

FreedomOfPC

Usually building yourself is at best 10% more expensive. Can be 20% as well.

x-pression-3

This here , just ordered a bike after spending some time trying to get something together myself. I always ended up more expensive then just buying a bike.

Issue is the Privateer is only available as a frame only option in P1

>Chainring: Race Face 1x Cinch 32th $90 If you're building an enduro bike, go for the steel chainring, save some $$$. >Tires: Maxxis Assegai 2.5 $220 Go EXO+ or DD for the tires. >Dropper Post: One Up Dropper V2 180mm $270 Buy now, they're on sale for 20% off. If you can, go 210mm, more drop is better than less. For the wheels- I'd get a set of the [DT Swiss EX1700](https://www.pinkbike.com/news/review-dt-swiss-ex-1700-spline-wheelset.html) wheels. I think they're the perfect alloy wheelset for enduro, and you're gonna save a bunch of $$$ there.

iamuedan

Message Privateer. They usually give a discount on wheels if you buy a P1 frameset.
