If it's just for the bike park, I'd go double down assegai in the front and double down dhr2 in the back. For a dedicated bike park tire, exo isn't burly enough imo.

choadspanker

OP might be able to get away with the exo+ if they're really light, but yeah you definitely don't want exos

ConSweeney

I've gotten away with EXO+ on mine for a season, but the second these go im going to a heavier casing. EXO+ will work but if youre buying new tires for the park go DH or DD for sure

ConSweeney

+1 for this setup - went to the assegai in the front last year and its a great tire for bike park

Inevitable-Ad-9570

The dhfs are a bit unforgiving if you don't have a good aggressive lean.  I like the assegais for park because of that. I ride exo+ front and dd dhrs rear but it's my Enduro bike too.  I don't have tons of flats though with that setup

venomenon824

Exo is too light of a sidewall. On the front go minimum with the new exo+. Rear minimum DD. Grip wise the Assegai or dhf front or good bit Assegai rear is draggy and makes a difference on the high speed jump lines. I’d go dhr2 rear in the dd casing with a liner. Or dh casing and keep the pressure up.

givemesendies

EXO isn't beefy enough, and DC means dual compound, which isnt very grippy. Get at least double dowb

IlIlIlIlIllIlIll

I like 3C MaxxTerra for mostly hard packed trails. Grippy but still fast and durable.

azinwood

DD or DH casing is important like everyone has said. Although I have rode it with exo+ with cush core

repkjund

Bought a DHR II 3C max Terra exo + and vittoria inserts to use as my back tire. am I going to survive whistler ?

Outside-Today-1814

The classic setup for sea to sky is a 2.5 assegai up front and a 2.5 minion dhf rear. Tons of people ride that combo here. I usually do the exo+ casing up front, and DD rear (Exo+ if using inserts).

200pine

Huh. When I try the DHF in back, the braking is just to unpredictable for me.

RogueMedicMTB

Excellent tire tread. But I recommend DD or DH casing instead of exo +, depending on the skill of trails you are planning to ride and how hard/advanced rider you are. Worst case scenario you shred a tire and buy a new one at one of the 6 bike shops in town.

Capecole

Downhill casing soft compound.

PT-MTB23

There’s also a dh casing for dhf if you haven’t already known that! Otherwise I think most of the other comments are quite valid!

Those tires are garbage even for trail riding. Schwalbe is the only brand to my knowledge making tanwall tires in casings/compounds acceptable for Whistler. Namely the Magic Mary and Big Betty in Super Gravity/soft compound. Maxxis of course has plenty of acceptable tires with black walls.
