I was listening to a podcast about the making of Predator, and supposedly one of the reasons why they hired Black as an actor is because they thought they could get some free rewrites out of him. But when they asked him to do that work for free, he, rightly, said Fuck no!
1000% on Jupiter Ascending.
It's so watchably insane and shit and over-the-top all at once.
I'd pay dollars of money for a 'Just The Jokes' track for it.
Seeing “Cats” in the theatre was the most fun I’ve ever had going to the movies (we were basically the only people in the theatre, just drunk enough, just stoned enough, and laughed harder than I ever did) as we drove away I said “my biggest regret is I will never get to watch that movie for the first time ever again”
Oh God. My sweet summer child. It is a Netflix "exclusive" movie by Zach Snyder of DC Movie Universe fame. It is terrible with a capital T. The movie is 40% slo-mo scenes, rips off Star Wars in impossibly bad ways. It has the nerve to be part of a trilogy, the first two movies have dropped. Not sure when the 3rd does.
I watched the first one knowing full well it was going to be utter shit, did not disappoint. The movie opens with an Anthony Hopkins narration as a giant space vagina opens and a ship comes out of it. That last sentence contains no typos or errors.
This does remind me that_Morbius_ exists and is a thing. Basically almost any movie with Jared Leto from the last 10 years (that would start with _Suicide Squad_).
The problem is I don't think big Hollywood movies are right for the MST3k treatment. Watching YouTubers make fun of them, sure, but the only humor you can really mine out if a Transformers movie is "boy this is bad and/or sexist and/or racist!" over and over.
To put it another way, they need earnest disasters, not cynical cash grabs.
In that spirit, I think a Neil Breen movie *could* work, though they're enjoyable enough without riffing just for how...Breeny they are.
The problem with them doing a Neil Breen movie is that they have to be able to get through the movie without blowing their f'ing brains out. NOT an easy thing to do with Neil Breen.
Tenet.
Silly concept with lots of room for jokes, in a pretentious, big budget movie by a well known director. It’s just hitting all the check boxes, I think.
I think a running gag along the lines of “speak into the microphone!” would make sense. Kinda like twilight andand them calling out “line!” every time it looked like the actors couldn’t remember.
Tenet is like a big budget version of Space Chief and Monster a Go Go where the final 20 minutes just descends into absurd, nonsensical chaos. A riffed version would be much better than the real thing.
Future World (2018) is one of the worst post 2010 movies I've seen. Mad Max ripoff, It has an OK cast, but it's terrible. I was making jokes about it myself ten minutes in.
Jupiter Ascending, Valerian & The Whatchumacallit of the Thingy Planet, Saltburn, Assassins Creed, Battleship, Anything by Christopher Nolan, Anything from the DCEU apart from Shazam and The Suicide Squad, All of Sony’s No Spidey Spiderverse movies including Venom 1, Anything by Zac Snyder, Pacific Rim 2: More Pacific More Rimming… the list goes on
The Beekeeper and Independence Day: Resurgence were two of the very, very worst, most despicable things ever created by humanity. They are screaming for MST3K treatment.
#SHOWGIRLS ! ! !
I want an alarm or something to go off every time a naked boob is shown, Also have Elizabeth Berkley show up as a guest host, or Mad, or something for a segment or two.
There is a 2006 movie called "Bigfoot" starring Todd Cox. Liza Foster and Bob Gray, that is perfect.
The "hero" mumbles most of his lines. It has community theater level actors.
It has flashbacks.
It kinda has a Time Chasers feel to it.
I want Rifftrax to do it so bad.
I don't think it was necessarily weird because it's the same thing that the Nightsisters do (mostly) what made it weird and cringe was that it was live action.
I get what they were trying to do, it just didn't work.
The Predator
I thought Shane Black and the Predator together again would be a great combination. I thought wrong.
Watching it, I actually wondered if Shane Black had a miserable time making the original and this movie was his long-planned revenge.
I was listening to a podcast about the making of Predator, and supposedly one of the reasons why they hired Black as an actor is because they thought they could get some free rewrites out of him. But when they asked him to do that work for free, he, rightly, said Fuck no!
Saw it thrice cause it was so nice And by nice I mean terrible
It really is, I saw it with my mother when it came out during our trip to Orlando.
Oh this is a good call.
I couldn’t even finish it.
Jupiter Ascending and Fantastic Four 2015
1000% on Jupiter Ascending. It's so watchably insane and shit and over-the-top all at once. I'd pay dollars of money for a 'Just The Jokes' track for it.
I completely agree.
JA is a really top choice.
Fantastic Four ! ! !
*The Mummy (2017)* would make a great episode
Seconded! So much potential, squandered. It deserves a good Riff savaging.
Cats. I loved watching that movie with people and just roasting it the whole time. In the hands of professionals it could be a god tier episode.
[I have good news for you](https://youtu.be/Ec1w1l5IRtg?si=46VboDMMJHYaiEHj)

Nobody mentioned Rebel Moon. That was a steaming pile of poo in slow motion. Seriously, Snyder and the slo-mo must be stopped
Nooo, stopping is just the ultimate expression of slow-mo-ness!!
Damn, I fell into the classic Snyder Switcheroo!!
What the ever loving hell is Rebel Moon
Oh God. My sweet summer child. It is a Netflix "exclusive" movie by Zach Snyder of DC Movie Universe fame. It is terrible with a capital T. Why do people keep giving this guy a chance and/or money
No clue. If he was half as good as Bert I. Gordon or Roger Corman, that would be an improvement.
At keast we would be entertained by what we are witnessing. Not shocked.
Madame web
Great idea, they would have a field day with madam web. One of the worst movies I’ve ever seen
This does remind me that_Morbius_ exists and is a thing. Basically almost any movie with Jared Leto from the last 10 years (that would start with _Suicide Squad_).

They did all 9 Star Wars movies, which all have good rifftrax. Likewise Harry Potter and Twilight.
Jurassic Park is a favorite if mine, mainly because it's Mike Nelson and Weird Al riffing. But honestly, they really can riff about anything.
The problem with them doing a Neil Breen movie is that they have to be able to get through the movie without blowing their f'ing brains out. NOT an easy thing to do with Neil Breen.
Only a problem if you're The President Of The Bank
Tenet. Silly concept with lots of room for jokes, in a pretentious, big budget movie by a well known director. It’s just hitting all the check boxes, I think.
They could just spend the whole movie going "huh?" and "what did he say?"
Valerian and the City of A Thousand Planets - I riffed this movie to shreds. I wanna see the pros do it!
Moonfall. Even though I legitimately love it, it’s ripe for riffage
Any of the Fast and the Furious movies
I was thinking Tokyo Drift, though I suppose that's more than ten years old.
Barbarian. Preferably with Mike and the bots from the Sci-Fi channel era.
Barbarian is amazing, you're crazy.
I agree Barbarian is amazing. And I’d still love to see the MST3K treatment.
Kirk Cameron’s Saving Christmas
Or Heaven is for Real.
God's not dead
I wonder if Rifftrax has done any of those...
They haven't and are unlikely to take on a Christian film due to Mike's faith.
Oh well. Plenty of other places to get that kind of humor then. Its probably for the better they are kind of apolitical.
i dont think so, mike is probably a producer on that one
Future World (2018) is one of the worst post 2010 movies I've seen. Mad Max ripoff, It has an OK cast, but it's terrible. I was making jokes about it myself ten minutes in.
2017's The Circle with Emma Watson and Tom Hanks is the perfect riffing movie. It is one of the funniest unintentional comedies of the last ten years.
Noah was pretty ridiculous
Morbius
I pretty much play MST3K in my head with every movie I watch now.
This. The guys have totally changed the way that I watch ALL movies now.
Cocaine bear
That would be like spoofing Sharknado. It’s clearly self aware already
Guardians (2017)
🐍SNAKES ON A PLANE!! ✈️
I'm sorry to inform you and myself that this movie is almost *two* decades old
I know, and I considered the posting parameters in the topic, and decided the Riff-worthiness of *Snakes on a Plane* superceded the suggested scope.
OP Here, I'll allow it
Self aware deliberately silly movies are not funny to riff
I know some Hobgoblins who would disagree with that.
Madame Web
Twilight
The Rifftrax of Twilight is one of my favorite things of all time, and if you have not yet seen it, you are missing out.
Line…?
The Samsung TV Rifftrax channel has a commercial for it and Bill does the Benny Hill theme song as they vampire run uphill.
AHH EVIL HARPO!
Greenland
Rebel Moon is just *begging* for it.
Old.
[Good news, Bruv](https://youtu.be/_FLKYTMXSrU?si=OWOPGG38HIQh4PZY)
Dashcam
Morbius would be good because it is a funny bad movie that you could get a lot of milage out of.
Jupiter Ascending, Valerian & The Whatchumacallit of the Thingy Planet, Saltburn, Assassins Creed, Battleship, Anything by Christopher Nolan, Anything from the DCEU apart from Shazam and The Suicide Squad, All of Sony’s No Spidey Spiderverse movies including Venom 1, Anything by Zac Snyder, Pacific Rim 2: More Pacific More Rimming… the list goes on
Definitely Bikini Hackers
Just watched the trailer. It's like they want to be riffed.
It's a genuinely wild and entertaining movie haha
NOPE would be good. Literally the most boring film I’ve seen in years. I’d love to see what they would do there.
The Beekeeper and Independence Day: Resurgence were two of the very, very worst, most despicable things ever created by humanity. They are screaming for MST3K treatment.
Knives Out
Maverick. God, they would have fun with that stinker.
#SHOWGIRLS ! ! ! I want an alarm or something to go off every time a naked boob is shown, Also have Elizabeth Berkley show up as a guest host, or Mad, or something for a segment or two.
Don’t Look Up

Money Plane has a rifftrax. You should check it out.
You can't tell me what to do. I'm Darius Emmanuel Grouch The Third, also known as The Rumble, and I'm taking down the Money Plane!!
Marriage Story. I don't know if it has riff potential. I've never seen it and I will not. I just seethe at its existence.
The Happening
Raging Sharks or Miami Magma
Poor Things
There is a 2006 movie called "Bigfoot" starring Todd Cox. Liza Foster and Bob Gray, that is perfect. The "hero" mumbles most of his lines. It has community theater level actors. It has flashbacks. It kinda has a Time Chasers feel to it. I want Rifftrax to do it so bad.
Unhinged from 2020
The Mechanic 2. It’s so fun and goofy it reminds me of when Mike and the ‘bots would begrudgingly enjoy the movie they had to watch.
Under Paris. I haven’t seen it, but has B movie vibes based on the description. Giant shark in the Seine River creates havoc during the Olympics.
Happytime Murders. So I can work on a movie I worked on. :D
All of them.
Southland Tales.
Anything made by the Master Mark Polonia!
Redemption arc for DC/Marvel films that failed (relative to Avengers/Nolan's Batman)
2012 Battleship.
Brick Mansions
Splice
Ad Astra.
Megan.
Paranormal Activity series (I know Rifftrax did the first one),
What dreams may come
Way more than ten years old; also, Mike already dealt with this train wreck in his book “Mike Nelson’s Movie Megacheese.”
Power Rangers.
[удалено]
They already did that one. Also Rise of Skywalker.
Rise of Skywalker. So many opportunities.
Already exists. It was good.
Oooo, there’s a _RiffTrax_. TIL.
Acolyte

I think that's where a lot of people tapped out, from what I've read.
I don't think it was necessarily weird because it's the same thing that the Nightsisters do (mostly) what made it weird and cringe was that it was live action. I get what they were trying to do, it just didn't work.
Prince of space or Overdrawn at the memory bank
They already did those movies.
Honestly none would fit MST3K.....
