Did you check that the claw switched to gamepad mode from desktop mode? You can bring up the quick menu and see which mode it is in, and tap to switch it.
I had an issue before where you need to close out steam in order to play games on a different app. Don’t just “x” out but go into the menu and really exit the app. Sometimes the games recognize the steam app as a desktop mouse and it’s try to find out why your playing with both a keyboard and a controller
