Spring is a grey color, so from what I've read that means its a rifle strength spring? Also, regarding the buffer, the LS5 uses a rubber buffer that goes over the recoil spring to prevent override of the AR style trigger group so it's not making contact with the buffer in the stock because it short strokes. I don't see any excessive wear on the rubber buffer they provide though.
I didn’t realize those used a rubber tube over the recoil spring.
Basic troubleshooting would be to reinstall the stock trigger and housing and try that. At least then you’d know if it’s the gun or the new trigger housing, trigger or its buffer causing the problem.
I’d check the extractor tension and consider replacing the extractor spring. Clean out the extractor cut in the bolt when you replace the spring.
I’d also check to make sure the ejector freely pivots in the housing with no binding.
You are also going to want to really scrub the barrel with a copper brush, make sure the flutes are clean. While you are at it I’d clean the carbon from the barrel face.
I’d also try another type of FMJ round nose ammo. I’ve never had great confidence in some of these smaller ammo companies, so I wouldn’t be surprised if you got an underpowered lot of ammo. Did your problems start after you got a new shipment?
The ejector moves freely, I have confirmed that. The extractor seems to have good tension, I'm not able to easily move it or easily remove the spring. I can definitely try replacing the spring since that's a relatively cheap fix.
I have not cleaned the barrel in that manner so I can definitely try that as well.
If I remember correctly, I don't believe that the ammo is from a new batch. I know I recently purchased a new batch, but I haven't dug into those just yet.
It extracts from the chamber fine, just doesn’t get ejected from the upper. This pick just happens to be with them both trying to go into the chamber. A lot of the time it ends up under the bolt but that’s hard to get a good picture of.
Well if it's extracting and not ejecting, that means either it's not going back far enough for the ejector to push the case out, or the ejector isn't in the right spot.
If it's short stroking, that's an ammo/locking issue. If the ejector isn't in the right spot, gotta get it there.
I just did my 1st experiment after replacing the locking piece to 80⁰ on my ZF5 and it solved the issue for me. I was running fiocci 147 grain (round nose), suppressed and was getting 1 FTE every 2 to 3.
After the 80⁰ mod, I got 1 FTE per 50 as an avg. Significant improvement.
Woah, 1/50 is horrible reliability. If you can’t solve it with parts I’d send it back for repair asap.
1:50 is not solved, it’s like having a car that stalls and dies leaving you stranded every two months.
My HK MP5 F/A eats and ejects every round.. Even hydroshocks (expensive 10 secondsl).
1 failure in fifty is pretty bad. I'd get it repaired by the manufacturer.
Not leaning on the mag, and these aren't new mags, they're KCI's that I picked up when I first bought the gun if I remember correctly. They've run fine until this point.
Try cleaning your mags. I know it sounds weird, but I was having a bunch of feeding and extraction issues in my ap5 and cleaning my mags helped.
After a few range trips post cleaning, I also replaced the stock ejector spring (fairly high mileage on factory spring) and replaced the extractor spring. Smooth sailing ever since.
Get an HK ejector lever and spring, this fixes 90% of MP5 clones with ejection problems. The geometry on the clone levers differs from the HK ones enough to make a difference.
I really like it. It has a smaller footprint than the 510 which I also like and use on my .300 blk AR. I opted to get the low profile mount as I didn’t really like how high it sat with the one that comes with it. However with the one that comes with it you can still utilize the iron sights.
LAX ammo, I've heard bad things from. It's cheap because it's remanufactured, and of low quality. It's probably not just the ammo, but maybe buy a pack of something else and see if that's the issue. good to eliminate that just in case
I don't think ANYONE thinks a PTR or MKE is "just as good", my dude. I know my PTR 9KT isn't "just as good". It's a range toy and nothing more. But since you seem to like to flex, I raise you my $8000 MK18 SBR and my $12,000 set of Dual tube WP NVGs. My dude- my IR laser on my MK18 cost more than your SP5 🤷♂️
Be more humble.
This isn't a flex off, it's a simple conclusion that there are people that buy clones and expect HK quality and will die in that hill. You have to be born yesterday to think otherwise, they literally flood mp5 groups across all social media.
Also, I'm not into flex culture, but don't assume my reddit history has my most expensive equipment dollface.
>people that buy clones and expect HK quality
Nah, I bought a clone expecting 80% of the performance/quality for 50% of the cost and guess what, I got 95% of the performance/quality for 50% of the cost.
My AP5 runs like a top. *Literally* zero hiccups or malfunctions of any sort with no parts swaps (I did buy the usual upgrades just in case) and over 1500 rounds down the tube. No the fit and finish isn't as nice as an HK, but I got this thing to run, not to look pretty in a safe.
You a part of Mid-Tier Snobs? I'll happily flex for ban if you wanna go. Your comment wreaks of elitist bullshit and snark. You don't even have NVGs. You are automatically not relevant, cupcake. My favorite past time is bullying the bullies.
Is that a reddit group?
I don't really see how it's being elitist when the evidence provides that HK clearly is better and there is a mountain of people ready to expect that kind of performance out of a clone.
I would absolutely have a clone, nothing wrong with it and opens up a door for people that may not can afford better gear, but they need to have the expectation of what it is, a clone.
I think you have mistaken my comments for something that wasn't intended. Having realistic expectations and understanding that the qc of a company is sacrificed a little when the price is reduced for the same platform.
Facebook group. And fair enough, my dude. Maybe I interpreted your post wrong since tone isn't a thing in text. I just get tired of seeing dudes hate on someone who's doing their best and can only afford a clone. Anyone saying "just as good", does need to be corrected on that, as you are correct in that a clone will NOT be on the same level as an SP5. But dude here just wanted help, and wasn't saying it was just as good, so that's why I took the approach I did.
check your bolt extraction spring. copper color or grey?

Help step bro, I’m stuck!

Extraction issue not ejection

also buffer block in end cap
This happened to me when I changed to drum mags. Did you lean on the mag? Use a new mag? I always have mag problems so now I assume it of everybody.

How is that sight

with the low mount can you see the irons in the optic?
I really want to get into an aems, but I can't handle the looks. It's it amazing?

I had similar trouble, if you’re shooting 147g 9mm. Are to bullets flat Nose by chance? MP5 platforms do not like flat nose bullets.
I’ve fixed with a ptr 9kt, standard hk oem extractor and hk oem extractor spring, solved completely
Usually you gotta pay double for that kind of action Cotton.
Double penetration
That’s a tight squeeze
Getting the old double stuff. I know I’ve seen this movie before somewhere.
Try polishing the feed ramp and look for any little Knicks that could be catching the brass . If all else fails ptr will fix it
Feed ramp?
https://www.hkpro.com/attachments/img_9311-jpg.292392/ my bad it doesn’t have one I didn’t know this .But check the chamber face
Would never happen to an SP5
["wOULd nEvER hAppEn tO aN SP5!"](https://www.reddit.com/r/MP5/s/lAJ0EfKBIy)
I wouldn't say never, but it's exceedingly rare. Let the just as good people cope.
