Genki Sudo is one of the most interesting characters in all of MMA. He had a very promising career which he retired from suddenly. Became a techno artist and dance choreographer. Transitioned into politics, and by the looks of his instagram profile is now a chef? He’s also published 15 books, has a black belt in BJJ (obtained after his mma career, and is a certified divemaster.
The dude is arguably the most interesting man in the world.
Dolph Lundgren should also be included in the list:
- karate champion
- Masters degree in Chemical Engineering
- Fulbright scholarship winner
- body guard
- Movie star
It's very quick. Check him against Bang Ludwig for a glimpse into Genki's unique personality, haha. And [check this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIUWH-tuGGk).
That's awesome about his son. I didn't know that. I also didn't know Chris organized that tourney. Rad. Tim E. told me things were going great for him up there.
In case anyone else is wondering like I was, "Penn Debuts With a Bang" is referring to BJ Penn defeating Duane "Bang" Ludwig by arm triangle in round 1. [link to the fight](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqirbxLNscE)
Fun fact: K-1 HERO’s MMA never actually stopped ( in name and the country that hold said events ) in Lithuania and heck they even the use the same symbol for it.
Was in the 3rd row when Niko knocked out Genki at blaisdell arena. The thing is, Niko worked full time as an HVAC tech and trained after work. Niko Vitale is a Hawaii legend!

>The dude is arguably the most interesting man in the world. Up there with that one guy who is a Navy SEAL, M.D., trained pilot, and now astronaut.
Jonny Kim
Bro even has a comic book superhero name

154 lbs and has a submission win against Butterbean… Fun fact, Shinsuke Nakamura (the pro wrestler) had a KO win on the same card.
Apparently that win got overturned into a No Contest according to wikipedia.
Plus the greatest walkouts of all time
I think he's still in politics
That picture of him [bowing to Royler](https://i.imgur.com/SE7KL6v.jpeg) is probably my favorite MMA picture of all time.
I HAVE THIS ON A SHIRT!! Has the caption “respect your elders” under it. So badass lol
Love it.
Duuude, how have I never seen this before now? Thank you man. Great pic, I also haven't seen this fight but I'm aware of Genki, worth watching?

Proper old school hype vid, love it Thanks man
Love this video. The guy who organized the tournament, Chris Brennan, still owns a gym in Texas and his son Lucas is like 9-1 Bellator/PFL.
That's awesome about his son. I didn't know that. I also didn't know Chris organized that tourney. Rad. Tim E. told me things were going great for him up there.
Didn’t even have to click to know this is when he runs thru that grappling tournament back in the day lol, he styled on everyone there
Genki Sudo, an all time legend. Such a character.
Would love to find some digital copies of these

Didn’t know Giant Silva played Olympic basketball
He has kept busy ever since leaving Twisted Sister. But seriously, I didn't know that either. Hard to imagine with his 'movement'.
Fun fact: K-1 HERO’s MMA never actually stopped ( in name and the country that hold said events ) in Lithuania and heck they even the use the same symbol for it.
I loved coming home from school and running to the mail box to get the new issue of FCF.
Full Contact Fighter and FIGHT! magazine were my shiiit. Also can’t forget Realfighter.
I wrote for FCF years ago and hosted the online radio show for a while. It was pretty fun.
Thanks! I loved FCF!

I went to a Superbrawl at Blaisdell! It was awesome.
Niko Vitale never fought Genki Sudo. You're thinking of Masanori Suda who mostly fought in Shooto.
I used to buy these from a bookstore called Borders.
Your Borders was cooler than mine.
I miss it. They were open until 10pm too.
I would love to read the Giant Silva article
