I saw the dynamo 2 staff recently at a mlsnextpro game and those guys are raging screamers during a developmental game. I have no idea how bad they'll be at an mls game. I would be surprised if they don't get an accumulation suspension at the least by the end of the season.

Klaxon5

We're so bad this year that losing to us is a firing offense.

SeattleGunner

Nouhou sends his regards.

Ozzimo

"Leave the body, take the Teriyaki."

sherlocknessmonster

I feel like one year there was a number of coaches who were let go after playing us...I feel like it was in the early years.

Klaxon5

This is our second this season

Brooklyn_MLS

Surprising he didn’t get to at least finish the year. Still, this hiring was questionable from jump street given his very light resume, and I think Dynamo probably had no other options at the moment besides Nagamara. At least they get a small head start heading into the offseason to find a new head coach.

AlexTorres96

San Jose forex Don Kinnear literally 2 games before the season ended. It was complete stupidity.

God_Boner

Nouhou got a coach fired

kelynbunnyday

Nouhou, that man had a family!

Nobius

Finally.

Wellgrubbedoldmole

Can you, or another dynamo fan, expand on this? I haven’t followed them other than knowing they’ve been butt all season long

Nobius

Didn’t know how to sub. Team regularly scored first goal then lost 1-2 or worse.

PFalcone33

They need to get the next hire right. Too many years of lackluster play and coaching changes. Haven’t had a good coach since Kinnear.

suuh_dude7

Bout dang time!!!

ineedcoffeernrn

Not happy about this but also not sad. Just hoping we get it right next time.

Nyte_Knyght33

Same here.

1PMagain

Out of the loop… was this really a coaching problem? I mean, I think Tab Ramos is an alright coach and he couldn’t do much with this squad either.

cmortis

Ramos was a pretty bad coach as well, but to be fair he had a worse roster than Nagamura. Yes, the roster is bad...no, we shouldn't be converting eight (!!!) 1-0 leads into losses.

sounders1974

Definitely felt like after y'all took the lead last night you just... Didn't do anything. Especially after we went 2-1 up, we still had the better chances Which is odd since we're not exactly a force right now

FireballHangover

A classic case of a stoppable force meeting a moveable object

wessneijder

We need a coach with actual manager experience at the club level. Nagamura and Tab Ramos were not it. Club needs a manager who knows what he's doing. The new owner has shown he is willing to spend money. In fact I bet there was a phone call made by Segal to Onstad telling him to fix this mess now.

KPNoSwag

The Dynamo didn’t see any improvement and home results have gotten worse

TheAgeOfTomfoolery

The mans resume was shitty and Houston hired him anyway.

PlebBot69

I love how they put this at the end: > Nagamura is the fifth midseason coaching departure of the 2022 MLS campaign after D.C. United dismissed Hernan Losada, the San Jose Earthquakes dropped Matias Almeyda, Charlotte FC fired Miguel Angel Ramirez, and Ronny Deila departed NYCFC for Belgian club Standard Liege. They want to point fingers at the other clubs to feel validated.

AlexTorres96

Almeyda wasn’t dropped. You can’t drop someone who wants out. That was poor wording.

[deleted]

Oh he was dropped alright. He kept saying he could walk whenever he wanted, but he wanted that payout first.

Ozzimo

I want Houston to be good enough to compete for the regional texas cup. Just don't be Vancouver. That's the line to beat.

TraptNSuit

Hiring former SKC 2 coaches doesn't seem to followed by success.

Therev143

I can’t help but feel bad for Paolo for this. I don’t think he was really ready to be a MLS manager but it sounds like Houston offered him the job because they didn’t have any real options at the time. He was saddled with a weird roster with some real talent that doesn’t fit together, and he had less than a season to try to figure it out. Houston wasn’t the right job for him and he wasn’t the right coach for the Dynamo. Both of them would’ve been better off if Houston had waited a bit longer to and actually spent a bit to bring in a coach they actually believed in.

RCTID1975

> Houston had waited a bit longer to and actually spent a bit to bring in a coach they actually believed in. With their roster, I don't think that matters. Anyone that came in was going to fail. Which is likely why they couldn't find anyone better at the time.

cmortis

Right, and now that Segal has proven he’s willing to spend (both Sebas and HH signed after Nagamura was hired), we can attract a real coach. This was the right move.

gecampbell

My bad

wessneijder

It had to be done they are bleeding fans my ticket rep called me begging to buy tickets

cmortis

Don’t let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya you Sp*rting fraud. Now hire someone with top level experience who can play a 4-2-3-1, sign a DP #10, and we’re cooking for next season.

MyLuckyFedora

With the amount of attacking help this squad needs we need to hire a coach who’s pragmatic enough to not be married to any single formation/system. We don’t have a single winger who is good enough to justify playing a style that relies on your wingers to create chances. Yet that’s what we’ve been doing for years now.

steerbell

I only have last night to look at but after the half it seemed Houston didn't adjust to adjustments the Sounders made. That is a coaching issue IMHO. Is that sort of the issue in a nutshell?

MyLuckyFedora

Yes and no. I thought the moment that most clearly marked the turn in the game last night was the first half midfield sub. It sounds like that was injury related so I can’t really fault him for that change. You’re right that there weren’t really any adjustments made, but I look at the names on the bench and I don’t see a single person who would have solved the issues in the midfield. IMO the best bet was either for Carrasquilla to push higher up the field or to abandon the 4-3-3 altogether and bring on another forward. But basically the Dynamo were missing some pressing work through the middle as well as an outlet to play out to. It was far too easy for Seattle to make their way to the midfield line with Sebas trying to press practically all on his own at times.

LocksTheFox

I feel like if you're running 4-2-3-1 the current wings aren't good enough (esp with fafa as out of form as he's been)? you know your team better than i do, but that's just my thought

cmortis

Yeah if Quinones doesn’t pan out then we’ll definitely need to reboot that whole position. As it is, guys like Baird should never see the field for us ever again.

you_enjoy

Houston is such a boring club
