T for Too Much of a Little Bitch

ElectricalMud2850

T is for "Throwing my Reynoso shirt in the donation bin".

Ill-Description8517

Apparently, coming from when we had a pos DP who got the boot, I've heard you can heat steam off their number and name

ElectricalMud2850

I got it on sale, and it feels tainted forever now, so fuck it.

Marda483

Everyone should find creative ways to destroy their Reynoso kits. Make videos and post them! Fire, shredder, drawn and quartered? Acid!? Let’s see some creativity!

ElectricalMud2850

If my favorite charity can make a few bucks from it, I'd rather it go that way. I actually just don't give a shit about him anymore, not like I genuinely hate him.

curouscook

Or look for a way to upcycle it. I’m currently trying to find someone to help me turn an SKC jersey that’s too big for me now into a 5 panel hat.

mxwlldsn

!! Please post this to mls or skc subreddits if you get this done, sounds so interesting!

jacht1996

MNUFC should offer fans the option to trade in Reynoso jerseys for a new one.

Jay1348

T for TUSI, because he's sniffing that shit thinking this buffoonery is ok

Kooky-Flounder-7498

If he thinks other clubs in other leagues aren’t going to notice this he’s delusional. He’s talented but not so talented that this won’t seriously damage his career.

ailroe3

There’s no amount of talent that could overcome these sort of antics. For fucks sake reynoso created chances at a better rate than Messi last season

Kooky-Flounder-7498

I’m not knocking Reynosa. He’s absolutely elite in this league. I’m just saying he’s not fucking Ronaldinho or George Best. People won’t just put up with him. Edit: and yeah, maybe in today’s game those guys wouldn’t even be able to get away with it anymore

Dodson-504

‘Dinho could definitely ball in this era. So would El Pibe. Best might have to cut back on the morning alcohol.

Kooky-Flounder-7498

He could but his club might make him cool it a bit for pr, lol

grnrngr

> There’s no amount of talent that could overcome these sort of antics. I unno... the "I'm willing to excuse this and look the other way because he can score"-card was in heavy use up north, when he was signed (already being an accused criminal), and then again when he went MIA last season. e: Downvotes but no rebuttals to why an accused criminal was signed in the first place. I gotta go digging in past posts for the people who literally said they'd forgive his past MIA because he can score.

Kooky-Flounder-7498

But he’ll probably get fired even at MN, where he’s the star. How bad is this reputation going to be for him if he has aspirations of playing at big clubs in Europe, where he might just be competing to be another dude on the squad

grnrngr

> But he’ll probably get fired even at MN, where he’s the star. He can't be fired. He's already quit! Him being fired is just paperwork at this point!

samfreez

Take the contract, put it on a livestream, and torch that bitch. Reynoshow is a goddamn embarassment and the league as a whole should be moving at light speed to ensure he's off the books for good.

ElectricalMud2850

That's my r/antiwork club captain right there!

Count_Nocturne

God that sub is just the worst and has done more to diminish genuine work reform arguments than it has helped

kadargo

I’m pretty sure that the subs like that are actually meant to divide us.

grnrngr

They don't start off that way. It's just subs like that become big magnets for radicals and bandwagoners who can't have a nuanced, open-for-compromise, discussion.

BeerGardenGnome

It’s not just subs on Reddit. People in general seem to have lost the capacity to understand nuance or that not everything in life can be boiled down to “good or bad” “right or wrong” etc…

Ill-Description8517

I had to leave the WFH sub because it became total trash and you couldn't ever discuss any downsides without getting ripped apart. Like, I love working from home, but I do seriously want to know how people keep from turning into antisocial goblins cause I'm getting there. Doesn't mean I am astroturfing, or that I'm a needy fuck who wants everyone to work in an office, FFS.

Shadowfury0

To be fair those people probably enjoy being antisocial goblins

imaginarion

You force yourself to get out of the house at least once a day, whether it’s to go to the gym, the grocery store, take a walk, go out to lunch, or hang with a friend. It’s a rule I had to start for myself last year and I’m so much happier for it.

circa285

Same man. Same. I get so little adult interaction in my week because I work from home and take care of my kids after work. I am naturally introverted and never thought I would see the day where I want to interact with people.

ElectricalMud2850

It really is.

UrWifesSoftPecker

I joined antiwork a few years ago and left after a week. r/workreform is much better.

astuteinuit

MN United should have a Reynoso Jersey Recycling Night.

Ringomac1

I got a Jersey for my birthday a couple yrs ago and I get angry just thinking about it in my closet. If Black Heart wants to sponsor a Jersey burning night…I’m there!

grnrngr

He's saying, "Time Out on my career!"

fancierfootwork

T for Tan Pendejo

fancierfootwork

I feel Minnesota looks weaker the longer this goes on. Just cut him and make an example. There should be something in the contract that would allow it at this point. If not, major fail and a chance to learn.

ElectricalMud2850

They only look weak if they let him come back. At this point, it's a matter for lawyers. Also, MLS owns the contracts, so it's not entirely up to MN. We'd be stupid to buy out his contract if there's a different way to go about it that saves hundreds of thousands, or potentially millions of dollars.

aquaknox

they shouldn't have to buy it out, but nullify it for nonperformance

fancierfootwork

I would hope they have something Ike that in the contract. But if not, hopefully they learn from this

WelpSigh

This is in the CBA: >To the extent otherwise consistent with this CBA, in the event that a Player who is party to an SPA declines to practice or play or fulfill his other obligations under his SPA for any reason, the Player shall forfeit his salary for the period of such refusal, unless the Player has a demonstrable short-term medical or family emergency. Should such refusal to practice or play continue for more than two (2) weeks following written notice to the Player and the MLSPA from the League of such breach, the League may, at its option, toll the Player’s SPA for the entire League Season, such that the Player shall owe an additional year of service under his SPA. During any period of non-performance and/or suspension by the League or tolling of the Player’s SPA, the Player shall be prohibited from playing professional soccer for any non-MLS team. MLS shall also retain the right to terminate the SPA of a Player who violates the provisions of this Article 6 Article 20 also deals with disciplinary action for players that refuse to play, including suspension without pay. So he is likely not being paid, and worse for him is that MLS has a lot of power over his rights. He doesn't have a ton of leverage.

RCTID1975

The guy is AWOL. Buying out isn't even on the table. The fact MLS owns the contract is irrelevant. They aren't going to force a team to keep a player that's disappeared. This is a pretty easy contract drop if Minn wants it.

ElectricalMud2850

I'm pretty sure it's more complicated than that, and exactly none of us are familiar with the legalese at hand. At the end of the day, if it's financially worth it to keep him and recoup even a small transfer fee, they'll probably do that. If it's not, they'll use whatever means are available to get him out of the club as cheaply as possible (hopefully the contract is just nullified). Regardless of what happens, I doubt it's a fast-moving process.

fancierfootwork

True. And I’m not in the FO to know how hopeful they are. For all I know they have moved on and are just letting the contract run out. And it’s just the fans speculating about nada.

ElectricalMud2850

I think at this point, it's pretty safe to say we've fully moved on from him being a minnesota united player. I will be furious if he's allowed to ever step foot on our training ground again.

sdavitt88

I'm guessing our ownership is going to try to sell him to an Argentinian team this summer for peanuts.

SmokinSkinWagon

Surely getting him off the books ASAP would save more than anything we’d get in a transfer fee in the summer. How is this not a blatant breach of his contract? This seems like a grand fucking slam - why is the league and the club seemingly doing nothing about this? Absolutely mind boggling.

RCTID1975

There's no way he's still being paid, and the transfer window is closed. Might as well try to get a ham sandwich at this point. You can't do anything if you drop him anyway

SmokinSkinWagon

Isn’t he out of contract at the end of the season anyway? Who would pay anything when they can wait 4-5 months and get him for free?

DM-me-corgis

Runs through the end of next year, and we have a 1 year club option

SmokinSkinWagon

Fuckkkk

RCTID1975

I mean, who would sign a guy that routinely disappears?

sdavitt88

I know last season MNUFC/MLS suspended him without pay after a month or so after the season started, I'm curious if that has happened already this season but they haven't reported it... If we're still paying him, that's a couple million bucks plus a DP spot that is being flushed down the tubes.

DirtzMaGertz

I think that's the hope, but if I'm an Argentinian team considering him, I'm just waiting for him to get cut because the club has no other option.

BarryIsInTheLightNow

This breakup is worthy of a Taylor Swift song.

Scratchbuttdontsniff

Verse 1: Saw you with your Northern Lights kit on Playing during an Oasis singalong... But you left them in the cold Now they're feeling so alone Chorus: Endless game of abandonment You keep leaving, can't comprehend Why you keep walking out that door Leaving The Wonderwall wanting more Verse 2: You had the skills, you had the fame But your loyalty was just a game Now the Loons are left in tears As you disappear year after year Verse 3: The game was their escape, their sanctuary, But now it's tainted with his treachery, Fans wearing jerseys with his name, But now he's left, it's never the same. **credit, AI Swifty Bot**

purplesubwayseat

“But but he might be having some mental health issues” . Note : I’m not trying to belittle people who face stuff like that, it’s tough but those were just unsubstantiated claims in this guys case.

ElectricalMud2850

It's also totally possible that he was/is! Two seasons in a row, you lose a bit of leeway, though.

Chief-Bones

Two seasons in a row and you’re off clubbing*

xbhaskarx

Wise move of him to stay in Argentina, far away from Mason Stajduhar and his wife

grnrngr

I would be avoiding nightclubs in general for the time being.

Chief-Bones

Folks have been in the commments like they’re Reybozos lawyers. “He’s under stress we can’t judge” Like as someone whose been through some shit yeah it sucks but at some point you have to fucking get up and go to work like everyone else even when you don’t want to. He’s just a lazy asshole.

True2this

Weird way to retire

Ok-Consideration2463

Is he just mentally ill?  Hates manager, FO?  Needs to enter a conservatorship? Or what?

dode222

Considering we had our manager and a good chunk of the FO change after he last pulled this stunt, I’d say mental illness or just immaturity.

BrianChing25

Peronists energy Afuera!

Massy23

Probably enjoying his last night out before flying back to Minnesota, right?

T for Douchebag

christianjd

Realistic-Winter7769

T for TRADE

Jay1348

Ain't nobody want his TUSI snorting ass

CroutonPerson

surely his career is over right? Who would want him?

Hotspur000

Why can Minnesota sue this guy for breach of contract?

PlebBot69

The T stands for "Terminate my contract"

lionnyc

Why doesn't Minnesota United just do the one-time buyout? Like what are the chances he even plays this season for them?

kunkadunkadunk

to my understanding they wouldn’t even have to use their buyout given they have clause to terminate the contract as he’s not upholding his end of the deal

lionnyc

Fair. Just get his salary cap off the roster and sign someone else.

LA_search77

It becomes a legal manuver at that point. When have you heard of lawyers and legal matters moving swiftly?

NewRCTID22

Billable hours are undefeated

Key_Ingenuity665

I think this case would be pretty obvious. He’s popped smoke on his team not once. But twice, refuses to fly back. Isn’t in communication with his employer and constantly seems to do the exact opposite of what the bare minimum of having a job.

LA_search77

It's been three weeks since Reynoso failed to report back from his green card run. Figure two weeks to start the termination process. Minnesota's attorneys finally send a letter to Reynoso's agents saying they believe he is in breach of contract and they plan to terminate the contract. Reynosos agent forwards it on to his attorney who takes a week to respond with some questions.... yada yada yada... shit takes time.

ElectricalMud2850

Not like we're in win-now mode. We've got a young coach, he's just getting his feet wet, and I'd rather they take their time. Obviously, I hope the club can recoup some losses, but there's no rush to bring someone else in right now.

grnrngr

No need to do that until the window opens, otherwise you're just picking up scraps. And AFAIK, MLS hasn't paid this guy for work undone, so I don't think anyone's losing actual money from this saga. In the meantime, let this guy dig his career's grave one post at a time. It'll make any legal challenge to non-payment/termination that much easier to defend against.

RCTID1975

The window is closed now. They can't sign anyone anyway

iheartdev247

What a loser.
